Mrs. Chapa was born May 3, 1907, in Ria Litos. She married Cesario Chapa on Sept. 2, 1975, in Oilton. Survivors include five sons, Vicente Chapa and Cruz Chapa, both of Tulia, Graviel Chapa of Lubbock, George Chapa of Hart and Cesario Chapa of Amarillo; and 33 grandchildren. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lothar Maiwald of Amarillo and Joachim Maiwald of Lawton, Okla.; a daughter, Brigitte Burton of Bedford, N.H.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Thomas was born Aug. 6, 1920, in Milford, to Thomas Jefferson and Ola Francis Howell. She married Hubert G. Thomas on July 9, 1937, in Dallas. She moved to Amarillo in 1952 from Dallas. She was a homemaker and member of Temple Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988. Survivors include a daughter, Jo Ann Walters of Amarillo; two sons, Jerry Thomas of Amarillo and Frank Thomas of Henderson, Nev.; two sisters, Minnie Lee Lane of Dallas and Barbara Jane Ingram of Kemp; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. McGaha was born in Gallegos, N.M., and had lived in Amarillo most of his life. He worked for many years as a minister, teacher and nurse. He was a missionary Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Yadie McGaha; and a sister, LaVona Hollinger. Survivors include two nieces, Vera Holdaway of Fort Worth and Velva Lane of Amarillo; a nephew, Jerry Hollinger of Amarillo; six great-nieces and great-nephews; and many great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. He was in the Army for nine years and served in the artillery during World War II. He married Phoebie Jo Thomas on Nov. 2, 1940, and he retired from Texaco after 34 years. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; a brother, Paul Faubion of Dallas; a sister, Irene Catherall of Amarillo; nine nephews; and seven nieces. Bell St. Mr. Johnson was a reverend and a missionary all of his life. He served as a missionary in South Africa for 20 years. Vincent of Dumas, Texas; a brother, Dr. George A. Allison of Walkerton, Ontario, Canada; a sister, Elizabeth Holmberg of Perth, Australia; and five grandchildren.
