Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Dale Brown, pastor of United Pentecostal Church in Borger, officiating. Mrs. Ripple was raised in Spur. She had been a resident of Dumas since 1951. She had worked for Dumas Cleaners more than 18 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Ripple, on Jan. 19, 1999. Survivors include two daughters, Helen Murphey and Martha Thompson, both of Dumas; a grandson, Tray Hermesmeyer of Dumas; and two great-granddaughters, Aspyn Hermesmeyer and Blake Cathey. Rodriguez - Domingo G. Rodriguez, 76, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2002. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Arrangements are by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mr. Rodriguez was born in Seguin to Teleforo Rodriguez and Felicita Gonzales Rodriguez. He was in the Army during World War II. Survivors include two sons, Robert R. He was a retired boot maker having worked for D.V. Ross and also for Charlie Martin Ross at Western Leathercraft. He served in the Army during World War II as a ships serviceman, third class on the USS Savannah. He married Georgia Mae Cates on April 28, 1938, in Tucumcari, N.M. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1994. Survivors include three sons, Wayne Ray Cates and Ricky Dale Cates, both of Amarillo, and Kenneth Lee Cates of Ladson, S.C.; a sister, Margie Smith of Clovis, N.M.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. David Veazey, of Amarillo Baptist Church, and Sherman Eastland, chaplain of Northwest Texas Hospital, officiating. Mrs. Little was a strong, faithful Christian for her Lord and a testimony to all who knew her. She cleaned homes for Joseph Pool and his family for many years. She was born in Jermyn on Feb. 22, 1922, to Charles and Blanche Wilton. She married J.D. Little in 1940. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988. Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Ashford of Amarillo and Marquita Lenerose of Richardson; a son, Royce Little of Amarillo; four sisters, Oretha Wilton and Bernie Faye Crabtree, both of Dallas, and Charlene Jackson and Coleen Gary, both of Jacksboro; and five brothers, Van Wilton of Mobile, Ala., Vester Wilton of Jacksboro, Eugene Wilton of Weatherford, Norvelle Wilton of Olney and C.J. She was married to Winford Herbert Mays on May 28, 1928, in Panhandle and made her first home in Pampa. She moved to Plainview in 1940 and upon retirement from the school district, had lived in Amarillo since 1982. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985. Survivors include two sons, Thomas of Amarillo and Winford Gene of Rancho Mirage, Calif.; two grandchildren, Michael Mays of Benicia, Calif., and Patricia Jewett of Rocky Mount, N.C.; a great-granddaughter, Crystal Jewett of Seattle; and her dear caregiver, Barbara Ollis of Amarillo. Mrs. Gilbert was born in Amarillo and she and her husband, George Curtis Gilbert, owned and operated the Put-In-Take Groceries for several years. Survivors include a son, John Curtis Gilbert of Cincinnati; a daughter, Virginia Gilbert Clark of Reno, Nev.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Welsh was born Oct. 23, 1918, in Eaton County Mich., the daughter of Virgil and Veda (Postle) Welsh. She came to the Oklahoma Panhandle in 1948 and was engaged in farming. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors. Mr. Sowers was born Aug. 23, 1921, in Union County to Alva Dolph Sowers and Ida Pearl (Brooks) Sowers. He married Pearl Lawrence on Feb. 8, 1947, in Clayton. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sandra Thornton of Amarillo, Texas and Janie Phelan of Shamrock; two sons, Larry Sowers of Lubbock and James A.
