Bob Thomas, chaplain with Crown of Texas Hospice, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Martin was a self-employed paint contractor, working in Stockdale, and worked for I.W. Tinney in Pampa. He was a member of Priest Park Church of God. Survivors include a son, W.H. Martin Jr. of Pampa; a daughter, Ruthie Lea Armstrong of Forgan, Okla.; two brothers, Estel Martin of Tye and Willard Martin of Merkel; three sisters, Bea Smithey and Fannie Mae Rethaber, both of Stockdale, and Lena Mae Quinney of Abilene; 12 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Henderson had been a resident of Miami for 20 years, graduating from Miami High School in 1964. She was a cook at the Harvester Bowl in Pampa for more than 10 years. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church of Dumas with the Rev. John Wagoner, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Kempson was born April 27, 1910, at the Crawford Ranch. She was a Moore County resident all of her life. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Dumas. She was a rancher. She taught at Masterson from 1932 to 1934 prior to her marriage to Edgar Kempson on Dec. 22, 1934, in Clayton, N.M. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1973. She was the youngest child of pioneer ranchers, J.M. and Manurva (Bud and Nanny) Crawford. She was a longtime member, past worthy matron and grand officer of Dumas Chapter Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 653. She was a charter member of Memorial Hospice, longtime dedicated volunteer of Rose Ladies and held offices in Dilattante Study Club and Pilot Club. She was a member and past queen of Daughters of the Nile and was a longtime volunteer of Moore County Museum. Our profound appreciation to Memorial Nursing Home and Ware Care Center for the care of our loved one. We were blessed. Mrs. Morgan was a housewife. She was a native of Mexia and a longtime Borger and Amarillo resident. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank J. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 25, 2002 James A. Wilson James A. Wilson, 80, of Amarillo, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in St. Paul United Methodist Church. Local arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Wilson was born in Big Hill, Ky., and had been a resident of Amarillo for more than 30 years. He served in the Army and was in the Normandy invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded five bronze stars. He was with the 224 Salvage Repair Co. and the First Army Division during which time he served in England, France, Belgium, Germany and Holland. He was an instructor at Texas A&M University, teaching specialized courses in water and sewage treatment. He served the State of Texas as supervisor of water quality board and water development and was the regional supervisor for 10 years. He retired in 1981 after 21 years of service. Then he started and established a bridge studio and taught many classes. He started the Bridge Club in Canyon and attained the status of life master. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lee. Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Wilson; a brother, Billy Wilson; four sisters, Cleo Brown, Doris Mastin, Glenna King and Gail Peak; and numerous nieces and nephews. He served on Amarillo College Board of Directors for 12 years and Eureka College Board of Directors for 12 years. He most recently was serving on the Student Loan Marketing Association Board for the last 16 years and was originally appointed by President Ronald Reagan and reappointed by President George H. Bush. He was interested in politics and law. He was a member of the Masons, Shriners, Greeters and Palo Duro Chapter of American Business Club. He was a professional member of the State National Society of CPAs and State and National Bar Associations. He was a former District Committeeman for the Republican Party of Texas and a delegate to the 1976 and 1980 Republican National Conventions. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Jack, Hugh, Raymond and Ben Joe Brandon. Survivors include his wife, Peggy, two sons, Joe W. Brandon and David Brandon, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Pauline Inmon of Houston and Mary Scruggs of Plano; three grandsons, Kale Brandon of Hedley and Kolby Brandon and James Brandon, both of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Megan Brandon of Amarillo; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She worked through Senior Citizens Association from 1981 to 1997 and was active in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Interfaith Hunger Project and Martha's House. She retired from J.C. Penney after 32 years. She was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. She married Dave Roberts in Borger in 1936. He died in February 1971. She then married Garnett Thomas in Colorado in 1977. He died in July 2001.
