He loved horses and blue-grass music. He worked at Fefferman's and Gebos. He had a sense of humor no matter what the situation was. He touched many lives within his time on earth. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Baker; his father, Elbert Smith; his brother, Kenneth "Cotton" Smith; and his half-brother, Linden Baker. Georgia St. Mrs. Carter was born in Collingsworth County, along with her twin sister, Audrey Vanita, to Earl H. and Mabel Peters Yarbrough on Aug. 11, 1922. She graduated from Wellington High School in 1940. She was married to W.A. "Buck" Carter on Aug. 22, 1946. They made their home in Amarillo. There they attended Polk Street Methodist Church, where she was a member of Suzanna Wesley Class. She was a faithful wife, a wonderful mother, a gifted seamstress and very creative. God has been good. She was preceded in death by her twin in 1987; and her husband in 1992. Survivors include four children, Sylvia Carter Smith of Arlington, W.A. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Floydada. She worked for Southwestern Public Service for several years and was a homemaker for the majority of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband in April 1976; and an infant daughter, Connie Sue Tinnin.
