Patrick Six and the Rev. Ken Cole officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Nelson was born May 2, 1918, in Tipton, Mo. He had lived in Hansford County for 43 years. He married Marguerite Allene Ulmer on July 3, 1938, in Perryton. He was a building contractor. He was a trustee at First Baptist Church, served as district brotherhood president, Sunday school director, served as City Councilman and on the Chamber of Commerce. He owned Nelson Builders Supply and was a member of Golden Circle and Spearman Industrial Plan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Newton and Leona Nelson; and a brother, Raymond Nelson. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mr. Huereca was born March 1, 1922, in Rotan, to Elias and Concepcion Hernandez Huereca. He served in the 757th Tank Battalion during World War II and fought in North Africa and Italy. When he returned to the states, he married Benita Margaret Villa on March 16, 1946, in Clovis, N.M. They farmed for many years before he went to work for the Texas Highway Department. They moved to Stratford in 1963 and he retired in 1982. He continued to farm for many years until his health began to fail. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter; a sister; and a brother. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Connie Harryman of Greenville, S.C.; eight sons, David Huereca Jr. of San Antonio, Elias Huereca of Edmond, Okla., Michael Huereca of Tampa, Fla., Danny Huereca of Hillsborough, N.J., Thomas Huereca of Sunnyvale, Calif., Sam Huereca of Alva, Okla., Phillip Huereca of Austin and Benjamin Huereca of Texhoma, Okla.; 23 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
