Mrs. Goebel was a charter member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Amarillo. She married Joseph R. Goebel on June 12, 1943, in Waco. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church in Canadian with the Rev. Aaron Laverty, pastor of Gageby Baptist Church, and the Rev. Jerry Golden, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Gageby Cemetery by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mrs. Meadows was born June 26, 1921, to Edward and Ether Minor Meek. She graduated from Briscoe High School and received a bachelor of science degree from West Texas State Teachers College. She taught school at Spring Lake, Stafford and Briscoe. She married Roy Meadows on Feb. 3, 1946, in Canadian. She was an active volunteer at Abraham Memorial Home for 15 years. She was a member of Gageby Baptist Church, taught Sunday School and sang with a quartet for church services. She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 20, 1992; and a daughter, Carol Meadows in 1962. Survivors include two sons, Larry Meadows and wife, Pam, of Spotsylvania, Va., and Eddie Meadows and wife, Leta, of Canadian; a daughter, Lucy Lucas and husband, Rick, of Westport, Ky.; a sister, Lola Cyphers of Odessa; seven grandchildren, Sarah Meadows, Brandon Meadows, Gordon Meadows, Amy Hardisty and husband, Dustin, Laura Meadows, Charissa Franklin and husband, Roy, and Russell Lucas and wife, Amy; and a great-granddaughter, Reagan Franklin. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 5, 2002 Ethel Ora Windsor Pittman SPEARMAN - Ethel Ora Windsor Pittman, 96, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Hansford Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Cole officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Pittman was born Nov. 3, 1905, at the family farm north of Turpin, Okla. She graduated from Liberal High School in 1923. She received her teaching degree from Panhandle A&M College in Goodwell, Okla., in 1925. She taught school in Turpin and Hardesty, Okla., and nearby Union School, where she met her future husband, Erlis Pittman. After a seven-year courtship they married on May 21, 1933, and moved to his farm in Hansford County. She, her husband and his brother, Wendell, were partners in the farming business until Wendell left on the first bus of World War II draftees from Hansford County. She worked side-by-side with her husband in their farming and ranching business. They lived in the same house nine miles northwest of Morse for 54 years until they moved to Spearman in 1994. Electricity came in 1950 and telephones in 1960. Her husband claims that he never saw a horse she could not ride or a weed she couldn't pull. She was active in Cub Scouts as a den mother, she taught Sunday school, was active in 4-H Club and was a life member of Parent Teacher Association. She taught each of her seven grandchildren to read. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Margaret Windsor; a brother, Lee; a sister, Edna; and a grandson, Kip. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Frank Pittman and wife, Lucy, of Morse and Bill Pittman and wife, Ginger, of Spearman; her friend and caregiver, Marilyn Anderson of Spearman; a brother, Chet Windsor of Liberal, Kan.; a sister, Minnie Hiatt of Wichita, Kan.; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He graduated from Whitesboro High School and attended North Texas State University in Denton, graduating in 1952 with a bachelor's degree in pre-dental and a bachelor's degree in English. He was a 1956 graduate of Baylor University School of Dentistry, where he was a member of Delta Sigma Delta Fraternity. He joined the Navy Dental Corps and served in Okinawa during the Korean conflict. After leaving active duty at the rank of lieutenant commander, he continued to serve in the Naval Reserve. In 1958, he moved to Amarillo where he started his dental practice in the Barfield Building in downtown Amarillo. He relocated his office to 2401 Commerce Street in 1978, where he practiced until retiring in 1997. He volunteered his time at the Amarillo Community Dental Clinic. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was active in Henry Brown Sunday School Class. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Whitesboro and Khiva Temple, where he served on the Directors Staff. His hobbies included gardening and trout fishing. He had a love for animals. In 1973, he married Nelia Denny. Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Debbie Melugin, Ruth Anne Shepherd, Barbara Younger, Susan Richardson, Kathy O'Rourke and Linda Hammond, all of Amarillo; two sons, Larry Hammond of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Lonnie Hammond of Amarillo; and seven grandchildren. She was a resident in a group home with TPMHMR and worked in its workshop. She was a beautiful, blue-eyed blond who was a loving person who touched a lot of lives. She will always be remembered and never forgotten. Georgia St. Mr. Cantrell was born in Sayre, Okla. He resided in Cheyenne, Okla., where he attended school until the age of 13. He moved to Amarillo where he graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1973. He married Anna Marie Luna in 1974 in Amarillo and three children were born of this union. He owned Classic Landscaping and was a partner in Cantrell and Sons Tree Service in Amarillo. He was a part-time wrestling coach at the Maverick Club as well as a referee with the TAWA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Berry in 1994; and a brother, Kelly Cantrell in 1995. He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 6, 1991. "Jack" Phillips on May 3, 1939, in Belton.
