Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Claude Cemetery with the Rev. Janet Edwards, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Claude, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mrs. Pafford was born Oct. 18, 1906, in Martin, Tenn., and came from Fulton, Ky., to Claude in 1908. She married Hermon Crystal Pafford on Sept. 14, 1924, in Claude. She was a charter member of Malden Harmony Club in Claude and a charter member of Claude Alumni Association. She was a member of Claude Business Women's Club. She joined First United Methodist Church in 1920, where she was a member of the Phoebe K. Warner Sunday school Class. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband March 8, 1975; and a daughter, Mary Louise Lockhart on Aug. 6, 1981. Survivors include a daughter, Kay Ann Chester of Kingsland; a son, Joe Pafford of Mahomet, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Lily B. Bagwell of Claude and Darlene Ledbetter of Vega; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers include, Nace Baggerman, Bob Byrd, Iva Chauveaux, John Chauveaux, Wilbur Cobb, Carl McElroy and Wade Watson. He worked for the truck wash at Plains Trucking for eight years, then for the tire shop for 12 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jo Miller; and a brother, Mike Reeves. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 10, 2002 Clifton Paul Richardson Clifton Paul Richardson, 76, of Amarillo, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Christian Church sanctuary with the Rev. Marvin James and the Rev. James Cobb officiating. Burial will in Llano Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mr. Richardson married Delores Heath in Amarillo on March 17, 1947. He graduated from Amarillo High School and attended Amarillo College. He served in the Navy and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. He was awarded seven bronze stars. He was a retired locomotive engineer for Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of Masonic Lodge and played in the Khiva Shrine Band. He was a member of First Christian Church and was a charter member of U&I Sunday School Class at the church since 1949. Survivors include two sons, David Paul Richardson of Amarillo and the Rev. Emmett Ross Richardson of San Antonio; a daughter, Loretta Osenbaugh; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 10, 2002 Jack Henry Fennell Jack Henry Fennell, 70, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Golden Plains Church of Christ with Paul Camp officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors by DAV Chapter 26. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Fennell was born in Eldorado, Okla., on July 22, 1932, to Troy Inman and Vera Lee Putman Fennell. He moved to Vernon in 1939. He married Marie Chisholm of Vernon on March 21, 1959. He had been a longtime resident of Amarillo. He was an Army veteran having served in Korea and was discharged as a corporal. While serving in the Army, his assignment was with tank company 34th infantry regiment. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the U.N. Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal. He was also a member of the National Guard and was attached to battery A 645th armored field artillery battalion, 49th armored division. He was a retired truck driver with Oil Transport and he was a member of Golden Plains Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Troy "Buster" Fennell; and a sister, Joy Bearden. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dr. Rick J. Short and wife, Paula, of Nashville, Tenn., and Dave Short and wife, Angie, of The Woodlands; two daughters, Toya D. Shupp and husband, Danny, of Amarillo and Tonya A. Morehouse and husband, Richard, of Marion, Iowa; two brothers, Burless Fennell of Phoenix, Ore., and Don Fennell of Oklaunion; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 10, 2002 Roberta "Bert" Wyatt Roberta "Bert" Wyatt, 71, of Amarillo died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Wyatt was reunited with her heavenly father on Saturday. She was born Sept. 26, 1930, to James Lee and Alice Gardner in Roby. She attended Elizabeth Nixon High School. She married George H. Rook on Dec. 27, 1945, and was blessed with seven children. In Houston in 1969, she married Arthur J. Wyatt. The Wyatts moved to Amarillo in 1978. Mr. Wyatt was a painter with Palmer Paint Co. prior to his death in 1997, and Mrs. Wyatt was a homemaker. She was a voracious reader of novels, and especially enjoyed the great classics of literature. She loved going to garage sales, buying dolls and stuffed animals to restore and donating them to area agencies to be given to underprivileged children at Christmas. She had been a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles. She was a lifelong Baptist. She was preceded in death by two husbands; her mother and father; two brothers, Benny Gardner and Jesse Lawrence Gardner; two sisters, Betty Attyd and Ruth Lent. Survivors include a brother, Toby Gardner of Lodi, Calif.; four sisters, Flo Greenwell, Treva Gilbert and Nancy Singletary, all of Houston, and Myrna Hamilton of Santa Fe, N.M.; two sons, George H. Rook of Alexandria, La., and Kevin Rook of Waco; five daughters, Georgina Meshell of Zwolle, La., Kathy Bybee of Benton, Kan., and Teresa Stevens, Nela Rook and Ginger Rook, all of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. They lived in Canyon while he attended school and then moved to Amarillo. They later moved to Houston and then back to Canyon in 1979. She worked in the insurance business from 1956 to 1979. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers; and a sister. Survivors include her husband; and a son, Brian Davis of Plainview. Mrs. Dunkerson moved to Guymon from Jamestown, Tenn., with her parents in 1926. She was married to Jesse H. "Shorty" Dunkerson.
