Mr. Clinkingbeard worked for Amoco Products for 33 years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Clinkingbeard. Mr. Gardenhire was born May 17, 1936. He married Sue Riggs on Oct. 3, 1981, in Memphis. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 20, 2002 Sylvia Ann Davis PLAINVIEW - Sylvia Ann Davis, 61, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, in El Paso. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Christian Church. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Davis graced this world July 27, 1941, in Junction City, Kan., the daughter of Percy and Vivian Ferguson. She was baptized in First Christian Church in Plainview. She graduated from Plainview High School in Plainview on May 28, 1959. After graduation, Sylvia attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Oklahoma Panhandle State College in Goodwell, Okla., and Wayland Baptist University in Plainview. She graduated from West Texas State with a bachelor of arts degree on May 27, 1967. She then went on to seminary and later began teaching at Floydada ISD in 1970. In 1976, in the teacher's lounge at Kress Elementary School, Sylvia met David Davis over a bottle of Diet Dr Pepper and a cup of coffee. They married two months and a day later on July 19, 1976. On Sept. 17, 1982, Sylvia became a mother to Vivian LeeAnn. She also taught in Alice ISD, Big Spring ISD, Bovina ISD and Fabens ISD, until she retired in 1994. She was looking forward to the upcoming birth of her first grandson, Korbyn Layton Davis, in November. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; and her father-in-law, William Daniel Davis of Hugo, Okla. Survivors include her husband; her daughter; a brother-in-law, Kenny Davis and wife, Terri; three nieces; three nephews; numerous cousins; and a close friend, Kathleen Cawthon. Mrs. McAdams had been a resident of Dumas since 1957. She was a retired assistant tax collector for Moore County. Burial will be in Kress Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Boggs was born Feb. 19, 1910, in Carey. She married Roma Andrew Boggs on July 19, 1930, in Clovis, N.M. Mrs. Jackson was born June 26, 1905, in Waukee, Iowa. She was a Dumas resident since 1990, coming from the Booneville and Waukee area. She was a homemaker and attended Booneville United Methodist Church in Booneville. She was an avid baseball and softball fan. She married Ray Jackson in 1930 in Booneville. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982; and two brothers, Henry Merryman and Berdette Merryman. Mrs. Holcomb began working at the age of 15 in the original Double Dip Drive-in at 14th Avenue and South Polk Street. It was there that she met her husband to be, Lee Holcomb. They were married June 21, 1941, in Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1938. She retired in 1992 after serving 20 years as a teacher/health aide at San Jacinto Elementary School. The elementary school that her children attended. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979. Survivors include two sons, Michael D. Holcomb of Houston and Richard V. Mr. Bradley was born in Pineville, Mo., and had been a longtime Amarillo resident. He had been in car sales for many years having worked for Garner Motors, Ray Jones Chevrolet and most recently Sixth Avenue Autos before his retirement. He was a member of Amarillo Masonic Lodge No. 731, a York Rite Mason, Khiva Temple, Independent Automobile Dealers Association and Paramount Terrace Christian Church. He married Verda Maye Allee on Aug. 21, 1981. A second service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Lee Street Baptist Church in Dimmitt, Texas, with the Rev. Randy Widener, the Rev. Don Cass and the Rev. Jeff Addison officiating. Burial will be in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dimmitt by LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Ruidoso. Mr. Wall was a member of Dimmitt Volunteer Fire Department for more than 15 years. "Doc" Miller Jr., 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Mr. Miller was born in Big Spring in 1922 and was a 1943 graduate of Texas A&M. After graduating he served in the Army during World War II. He was a large animal DVM in the Texas Panhandle and later worked for the USDA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Jackie Miller.
