Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Christian Church with Tom Posey and Dick Boutell officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Hughs Funeral Home. Mrs. Maddox was born Aug. 9, 1913. She was a member of First Christian Church for more than 70 years. Survivors include her husband, Bill; a son, Gordon Maddox of Memphis; a daughter, Vivian Faye Junkins of Tennessee; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 23, 2002 Jesse Enriquez DALHART - Jesse Enriquez, 87, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002. Prayer vigil with rosary will be at 6 p.m. today at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the church with Robert A. Busch, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home. Mr. Enriquez was born March 18, 1915, in Dalhart to Jose and Faustina (Vera) Enriquez and was raised in the Texas Panhandle and Colorado. He married Ruth Natividad in 1939. She died in 1981. He had worked for the railroad and owned and operated a restaurant for many years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and two grandchildren. Survivors include three daughters, Sophia Delgadillo and husband, Ralph, of Albuquerque, N.M., Catherine Sandoval and husband, Joe, of San Antonio and Bernice Griego and husband, Alphonso of Tampa, Fla.; a son, Joseph Enriquez of Dalhart; a sister, Ruby Lucero of Dalhart; eight grandchildren, Jessica Savois of Santa Clarita, Calif., Maria Delgadillo and Michael Delgadillo, both of Albuquerque, Cindy Sandoval, Robert Sandoval and wife, Candy, and Traci Sandoval, all of San Antonio, and Bernadette Hogsett and Veronica Marts, both of Tampa; and 12 great-grandchildren. She worked as a cook and a caregiver for the elderly for several years. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home. Mr. Morrison was born July 4, 1943, in Slaton to LC and Agnes McCullough Morrison. He was raised around Portales, N.M., and graduated from House High School in House, N.M., in 1961. He served in the Navy. He married Carol Wellard on Oct. 9, 1965, in Delta, Colo. They moved to Dalhart in 1976. He was a member of Lincoln Street Baptist Church and enjoyed archery, hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Tina Rasco of Houston, Lena Bevans Snyder of Thornton, Colo., and Christine Riehl of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a son, Lawrence Christopher Morrison of Dalhart; two brothers, Douglas Morrison of Nara Visa, N.M., and Blanton Morrison of Logan, N.M.; two sisters, Alice Smith of Chattaroy, Wash., and Martha Stull of Dalhart; and eight grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Rosales was born Aug. 25, 1912, in Piedras Coauhila, Mexico. He married Blasa Lopez in 1932. Survivors include a daughter, Mercedes Zapata of Amarillo; two sons, Ruben Rosales and Andres Rosales, both of Tulia; 17 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. She had worked in real estate sales. She was a member of the Amarillo Board of Realtors. She was a Baptist. She married Raymond Crisp Sr. in 1951 at Tucumcari, N.M. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Raymond Crisp Jr. of Eagan, N.M., Garry Crisp and Michael Crisp, both of Amarillo; a brother, William Simpson of Sunnyvale, Calif.; six grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 23, 2002 Marie Ramsey Marie Ramsey, 87, of Amarillo died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Cornerstone Baptist Church with the Rev. Coy Wylie, pastor, and the Rev. Anthony Pennington, her former pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Ramsey was born Sept. 17, 1915, in Mount Pleasant. Her parents and family moved to Lubbock shortly thereafter where they farmed. She was one of 12 children born to James Samuel and Linnie Pearl Dodson Medley. She attended Lubbock High School and moved to Amarillo in the early 1940s to work at Pantex during World War II. On Sept. 2, 1945, she married William Lenard Ramsey of Timpson in Amarillo following his discharge from the Army Air Corps. He preceded her in death in June 1996. She was a very active member of Bethel Baptist Church (later Ridgecrest Baptist Church) until her health began to deteriorate. She worked at Alice Landergin school cafeteria for many years. Among her survivors are the many hundreds of people whose lives she touched through her work at the church. For many years she made it a point to provide a Bible to every newborn child in the church. Survivors include two sons, Shannon Ramsey and wife, Phyllis, of San Antonio and Benny Ramsey of Amarillo; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Nell) Thompson of Lubbock and Mrs. Bill (Margaret) Atkins of Irving; a brother, William (Billy Ray) Medley of Fayetteville, Ark.; two grandchildren, Eric Ramsey and wife, Christina, of Camp Lejeune, N.C., and Meghann Ramsey of Cherokee, Okla.; and nephews and nieces too numerous to mention. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 23, 2002 Willie Mae McWilliams Gerdes Willie Mae McWilliams Gerdes, 92, of Amarillo died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Rose Hill Cemetery of Tulia with Rob Lindley, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Willie Mae was the daughter of Silverton farmer and stockman Charles Lee McWilliams and Minnie Lee Terrell McWilliams, one of the founding residents of Briscoe County. She was born on Sept. 10, 1910, in Mertens, the fourth of 11 children born to Charles and Minnie. The family moved to Silverton in 1929. She attended Haylake Country School and Silverton schools. Willie Mae married Wayne "Moose" Gerard Gerdes on Oct. 26, 1945. Wayne was the son of Bruce E. and Bethany Belle Smithee Gerdes of Tulia and Silverton. They made their home in Tulia where he established his plumbing business after returning from service in the Navy. Wayne died on June 7, 1959, at the age of 49 and Willie Mae was left alone to raise their two young daughters, Kay and Donna. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Tulia and of the Armeda Sunday School Class. She cared for the church nursery for 16 years and retired in 1975. She moved to Amarillo in 1993 to be closer to her daughter, Donna, and her sister, Mary Sue. She was preceded in death by her husband; and a third daughter, Terry Jan. Both are buried in Tulia's Rose Hill Cemetery where Willie Mae will also be laid to rest. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. Survivors include two daughters, Kay Turner and husband, Leland, of Sugar Land and Donna Taylor and husband, Jim, of Amarillo; two sisters, Wilma Hunt of Clarendon and Mary Sue Bingham of Amarillo; three brothers, C.L. McWilliams of Silverton, Billy McWilliams and Bobby McWilliams, both of Quitaque; three grandsons; two granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter. Peters Jr., 81, of Amarillo died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Leon Green, of Bolton Street Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Peters married Mary Morris on Dec. 6, 1947, in Wellington and they moved to Amarillo in 1951. He served in the Navy during World War II and worked for the city of Amarillo for 30 years. He was a member of the DAV and Bolton Street Baptist Church. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all who knew him. He had great pride and love for his family. He will be missed. Survivors include his wife, Mary; a son, Ronnie Peters; three daughters, Diane Werschky and husband, Carlton, Marena Ingels and husband, Steve, all of Amarillo, and Vicki Peters of Lubbock; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Adams was born in Childress. She married Joe W. Adams on Sept. 18, 1945, in Clarendon. They moved to Amarillo shortly after their marriage. She was a homemaker and member of San Jacinto Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 21, 1976. Survivors include four sons, Rick Adams and Kenny Adams, both of Amarillo, and Monty Adams and Kelly Adams, both of Fritch; a daughter, Sandy Allen of Amarillo; five sisters, Eunice Kindle of Childress, Genevieve Shields of Goodnight, Jo Tolbert of Amarillo, Pauline Black of Fort Stockton and Jerri Tims of Farwell; three brothers, Raymond King of Clarendon, James King of Amarillo and A.K. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 23, 2002 Shirley Murphy Shirley Murphy, 71, of Amarillo died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. Scott Greer, pastor, and the Rev. Roy Wheeler, minister emeritus, officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Garden of Memories Cemetery in Belleville, Ill. Mrs. Murphy, beloved wife, mother and friend, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born to Elizabeth and Henry Egan on March 3, 1931, in East St. Louis, Ill. It was there that she developed childhood friendships that lasted a lifetime. She married Robert Murphy on Sept. 10, 1949, in East St. Louis. She moved to Belleville in 1959 and to Los Alamos, N.M., in 1970. Her younger years were devoted to her husband and children. In 1980 she earned an associate degree in business from the College of Santa Fe and was an administrative specialist with the Los Alamos National Laboratory until her retirement in 1990. In 1990 she moved to Amarillo. She was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church and was active in collecting and sending diabetic supplies to the children of Russia as part of the CIS Program. Her life was an example of joy and caring for others. She will be deeply missed. Survivors include her husband; a son, Gary Murphy of Germany; two daughters, Janet Case of Houston and Gail Murphy of Newark, Ohio; two sisters, Betty Frazier of Mount Vernon, Ill., and Delores Fuhrhop of Belleville; a brother, Howard Egan of Woodbine, Md.; and two grandchildren, Janelle Case of Galveston and Julie Case of Houston. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Elkhart Cemetery of Elkhart, Kan., with the Rev. Odie Nunley officiating. Arrangements are by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Mrs. Boaldin moved to Guymon from the Elkhart area in November 1944. They operated Byerley's Cafe for several years. Survivors include a son, Raymond Boaldin of Guymon; a brother, John Minns of Keyes; a sister, Kate Padget of Perryton; and four grandchildren. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Maupin was born in Beaver County on Aug. 17, 1920, to John and Mina Evans. She married Leon Maupin on May 7, 1951, in Clovis, N.M. They resided in Canadian, Texas, until the Santa Fe Railway moved their workers to Amarillo in 1954. She moved with her daughter to Chester three years ago. She was a cook and baker for Colonial Cafeteria for 20 years and at Kids R Us Daycare for 16 years. She was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church for 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Leadell Lamberson; her parents; and two brothers, Willard Evans and Frank Evans. Survivors include a daughter, Luise Maupin of Chester; a stepdaughter, Luann Dobos of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a brother, Louis Evans and wife, Veda, of Thomas; a sister-in-law, Carlene Evans of Chester; three grandchildren, Staci Armanderiz and husband, Joe, Jacob Lamberson and Joshua Maupin, all of Amarillo; several nephews and nieces; and a special cousin, Jerry Reed Acton of Lockhart, Texas.
