Burial was in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Elam was born March 27, 1916, in Gaines County. He married Norene Hamilton on Dec. 3, 1937, in Tulia. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Betty Bryan of Plainview, Carolyn Holder of Dripping Springs and Rhogene Easley of Amarillo; a brother, Bert Elam of Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Jewell Hyatt of Tulia and Joyce Billington of Borger; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Prayer services will be at 6:45 p.m. today in the Memorial Chapel of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with Vivian Garza Jr. pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in Lawton, Okla., officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery. Mr. Casanova was born in Laguana Seca and had lived in Dumas since 1998. He was a truck driver. Survivors include his wife, Felipa; five daughters, Jennifer Ortiz, Esperanza Casanova, Irene Casanova, Emilia Casanova and Blacita Casanova; three sons, Ricky Casanova, Erick Casanova and Alejandro Casanova Jr.; three brothers, Vivian Garza Jr., Felix Garza and Irineo Garza; three sisters, Fela Irlas, Juana Tagle and Evelia Villareal; 25 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, East Mausoleum. Mrs. Martin was born April 8, 1927, in Archer City to Owen and Annie Gentry. She married Norman L. Martin on Oct. 27, 1945, in Groom. She retired in 1981 from Levi Strauss after 15 plus years of service. She had a "Green Thumb" and loved to grow ivy and flowers. She also liked camping, sewing and the horse races. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Owen Martin, in 1947. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Norma Francis of Stockbridge, Ga.; two sons, Sam Martin and Bobby Martin, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Pat Boykin and Cary Gentry, both of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He married Marianne Bowthorpe on June 22, 1973, in Houston. He worked for the TDCJ for 20 years retiring as an assistant warden in March 2001. He leaves behind family and friends that loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jessie M. Munselle; a sister, Cathryn Jenks; his stepmother, Patricia Munselle; and a stepsister, Lavonne Thomas. He was a "Flying Tiger" under the command of General Claire Chenault's 14th Air Force during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Mirch Trichel of Weimar; a son, Stephen Trichel; his parents; three brothers; and a sister. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 6, 2002 Elsewhere R. Kevin Chisholm DALLAS - R. Kevin Chisholm, 61, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2002. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Monica Catholic Church of Dallas. Arrangements are by Sparkman-Dickey Funeral Home. Mr. Chisholm was born Sept. 5, 1941, in Pampa to Russell and Frances Chisholm. He died after a six-month struggle with esophageal cancer. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1959 and the University of Notre Dame in 1963. In 1966 he joined Haggar Clothing Co. as an accountant and served as chief financial officer from 1973 to 1983. In 1983 he started his own accounting practice which he directed until 2002. He was a strong supporter of the University of Notre Dame and attended several football games every year. He was very active in the Notre Dame community in Dallas, serving as treasurer of the Notre Dame Club of Dallas for 11 years. In 1985 he received the club's annual award of the year, presented to those in Dallas who best represent the spirit of the University of Notre Dame. He married Judy Wells Perry, formerly of Lubbock, on April 19, 1997, in Austin. During the time that he and Judy commuted between Lubbock and Dallas, he became a fond part-time resident of Lubbock. He enjoyed meeting his friends on Saturday mornings at the Mecca where he was known and loved. He also enjoyed flying his airplane, a 1948 Ercoupe, with his friends at Northwest Regional Airport. He will be remembered for his love for his family, sense of humor, generosity, ability to tell a good story and positive attitude. Most of all, he will be remembered as one who touched the lives of many and as a true and great friend to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Ann Jourdan of Hobbs, N.M., Jean Martin of Covington, La., and Sheila Hood of Bigfork, Mont. Survivors include his wife, Judy; two sons, Dan Chisholm and wife, Amy, of Tucson, Ariz., and Mark Chisholm of San Antonio; a daughter, Kelli Chisholm of Dana Point, Calif.; stepchildren, Kyle Abraham and wife, Elizabeth, of Lubbock and Ashley Abraham Hood and her husband, Doug, of Dallas; a sister, Colleen Bush and husband, Bill, of Grand Junction, Colo.; a brother, Tom Chisholm and wife, Barbara, of Austin; brothers-in-law, Bill Jourdan of Hobbs, N.M., and Jack Hood of Kalispell, Mont.; and three grandchildren, Elliot Abraham, Katherine Abraham and Phillip Hood. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 6, 2002 Hispanic journalist dies SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Frank Trejo, once known as the dean of Hispanic journalists in Texas, died Sunday. He was 95. Trejo was best-known as a columnist at the now-defunct San Antonio Light, where he worked for nearly four decades. His columns gave a voice to groups and people who might not ordinarily have made headlines.
