Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Martin was ordained a minister in 1946 in the Primitive Baptist Church. He was a former justice of the peace in Bailey County from 1975-1976. Survivors include a son, Don Martin of Perryton; a daughter, Ann Williams of Muleshoe; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Arnold was born Jan. 21, 1953, in Castro County. He was an electrician. He had lived in Georgia for the past three years. Survivors include his parents, Odell and Mildred Arnold of Stratford; two sisters, Judy Gretz of Acworth, Ga., and Debbie McDaniel of Dalhart; two brothers, Ron Arnold of Fort Collins, Colo., and Don Arnold of Wylie; his grandmother, Mollie Price of Stratford; several aunts and uncles; three nieces; and four nephews. Mr. Baros was born Nov. 15, 1914, in Lourdes, N.M. He married Donilia Gonzales on Feb. 17, 1937, in Lourdes. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Gloria Baros Gomez of Amarillo; two sons, Eloy Baros of Amarillo and Louie Baros of San Angelo; a sister, Abelina B. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 9, 2002 Lee Royce Atherton WHEELER - Lee Royce Atherton, 46, formerly of Wheeler, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, in Princeton. Services were at 3 p.m. Tuesday in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Farmersville with Keith Richins, elder, officiating. Additional services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Wheeler First Baptist Church with Dr. Toby Henson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Atherton was born March 9, 1956, in Wheeler, to Darville E. and Sammie Lee Dougherty Atherton. He attended Briscoe School grades first through 11th and graduated from Wheeler High School in 1974. On March 25, 1995, he married his sweetheart, Debra Johnson, in Dallas. He worked in the oilfield in the Wheeler area for several years after graduating. He spent five years in Ecuador working for Parker Drilling Co. He continued working in the oilfield after he returned to the states. Then he began a career as a telecommunications technician. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Farmersville. He will be greatly missed by friends and family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Arville Dean Atherton in 1967. Survivors include his wife; his parents of Wheeler; and two brothers, Russell Atherton and Michael Atherton, both of Wheeler. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church of Vernon with the Rev. Robert Prince officiating. Burial will be in Wilbargar Memorial Park in Vernon by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home of Hereford. Mrs. Norwood was born Aug. 7, 1913, in Chillicothe, the daughter of Walter and Leona Stevens. She married Harry Norwood on Dec. 25, 1931, in Chillicothe. She moved to Vernon in 1941 and taught elementary school for more than 40 years. She won many awards and accolades including serving as president of Beta Gamma chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, and an international society of women in education. She obtained a bachelor of arts from Hardin College in 1949 and a master's degree from Midwestern University in 1957. She taught Sunday school and was a member of First Baptist Church of Vernon for many years. Survivors include a son, Dr. Gordon K. Norwood of Manchaca; a daughter, Bobby Roberson of Hereford; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. He lived in Albuquerque, N.M., from 1961 to 1970 prior to moving to Colorado Springs, Colo., where he owned the Hitchin Post. He moved to Amarillo and worked for John Farrell Lumber Co. as a building contractor from 1973 to 1974. Then he worked for two years for Groendyke Transport as a long haul driver. In 1976 he built the Caravan Club with his father and owned and operated it for several years. He also owned the Western Club and Whiskey River. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Jack and Rose Mae Jackson; and a son, Todd Randall Jackson. Survivors include his wife, Marsha; a son, Dickey Don Jackson of Amarillo; a sister, Rose Hatanalis of Colorado Springs; a stepdaughter, Tiffany Hutton of Amarillo; and a stepson, Gian Garret of Amarillo. Mr. Belcher was born on Sept. 20, 1963, to Billy Ray and Rebecca Delores Bell Belcher in Amarillo. He attended high school in Welch, W.Va., and graduated high school in Horn Lake, Miss. He was a veteran of the Army. After his discharge, he moved to Amarillo and then to Fritch in 2000. He was employed at Timmens Welding of Amarillo. He was a member of Dayspring Ministries. Mrs. Chambliss was born April 7, 1909, in Anderson County. She married Robert H. Chambliss on Jan. 6, 1934, in Brownfield. She moved to Plains in 1938. She was a member of Eastern Star and Plains First Baptist Church. She had been living in Lubbock since 1996. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 18, 1982; a daughter, Gracie Hale on April 23, 1967; and a great-grandson, Justen Keith Green on Oct. 8, 1998. She worked as a shoe salesperson at Blackburn's Department Store in Amarillo. She was a member of Lamount Baptist Church in Amarillo. She married Burvin E. Roberts on June 11, 1932, in Era. She was preceded in death by her husband in April 1978; four brothers; and three sisters.
