Frazier Jr., 73, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Gruver United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Burial will be in Gruver Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Mr. Frazier was born July 11, 1929, in Hansford County. He was a lifetime resident of Gruver. He married Bertie Neuse on Aug. 7, 1951, in San Marcos. He was a farmer and rancher. He attended Gruver United Methodist Church. He was a member of Gruver Masonic Lodge No. 1326 A.F. & A.M. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of Khiva Shrine Temple in Amarillo and was a Khiva Temple Jester and greeter. He was secretary of Gruver Masonic Lodge and was employed by Phillips Petroleum Co. from 1952 to 1964. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Donna Denise Frazier Kwiatkowski and husband, Bob, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Debra Faye Knight and husband, Bruce, of Arlington and Diane Elaine Frazier Lyon and husband, James, of Amarillo; a son, Dustin K. Mrs. Cluck was born Aug. 15, 1931, in Gewhitt, to Gladys Ora Scott and William Roy "W.R." Cullison. She spent her early years in the Lefors/Pampa area and graduated from Lefors High School. She was united in marriage to Dean Cluck on April 20, 1951, in Clayton, N.M. The Cluck family has been involved in farming, ranching and the feedlot industry. Rita was a faithful, loving and hard-working wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of Gruver First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 10, 1999; her parents; a sister, Blanche Green; and a brother, Roy Cullison. Mr. Bybee served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked as a welder for many years. Amarillo Globe-News, Oct. 31, 2002 Leo Kouba Leo Kouba, 85, of Amarillo died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with Dale Travis of Family Life Fellowship officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Kouba lived in Amarillo for more than 80 years. He retired from the Amarillo Police Department after 35 years of service. He later retired from Amarillo National Bank as a security guard after 10 years of service in 1982. He served in the Navy during World War II and was an honorary member of Will Rogers Range Riders. He had also worked for Buddy Seewald for a number of years. Mr. Kouba was a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia on Dec. 16, 1997. Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis Hooker of Westlake Village, Calif., Diane Davis of Hobbs, N.M., and Eileen Higgins of Hereford; a brother, Gordon Kouba of Amarillo; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Llano Cemetery with Dr. Jordan Grooms and Dr. Jim Garrett officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Dr. Winsett was born in Amarillo to A.E. and Mary Merrill Winsett. He married Catherine Owen Monning and they had one son Owen Ewing Winsett. He attended Amarillo Public Schools, West Texas State University, Kemper Military School, University of Texas, UT Medical Branch in Galveston and American International University. He received a B.A. degree in biology, a M.D. and a Ph.D. in philosophy and theology. He served as director of various groups including Texas Commerce Bank of Amarillo, Amarillo Art Center, Texas Arts Alliance, Texas Opera Theater, Texas Association of Museums Trustee Committee, Amarillo Opera, KACV-TV board and Paul Brindley Distinguished Professorship. He was a member of the staff at St. Anthony's Hospital, High Plains Baptist Hospital, Potter-Randall County Medical Society, Texas Medical Society, American Medical Association and Southwestern Surgical Congress. He was a guest lecturer at West Texas State University. His publications include Texas State Journal of Medicine, Charterhouse Clinic, London, Comwin Book Company, Staked Plains Press and Anglican Press. Honors include co-founder of the Amarillo Opera, winner of the Golden Nail Mayor's Award in 1985, Amarillo High's Sandie Hall of Fame, member of the original Amarillo Area Foundation Hospital Committee and the state board of Health Care Facilities. Dr. Winsett was a lay reader at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church since he was 17. He was a Sunday school teacher and biblical scholar for 50 years. He was a captain in the medical corps of the Army during World War II. He was a photographer, teacher, music lover, woodworker and a world traveler. He was a substitute teacher in the Amarillo Independent School District after his retirement, and a HOSTS mentor at Mesa Verde Elementary. Survivors include his wife; a son, Dr. Owen Ewing Winsett and wife, Mary Zelsman Winsett, of Austin; four grandchildren, Robert Ewing Winsett, Anne Merrill Winsett, William Owen Winsett and Frank Thompson Winsett; and a sister, Mary Winsett Schmidt. Chris Ford of First United Methodist Church of Follett officiating. Mr. Plain was born on Nov. 22, 1937, in Beaver County, Okla., to Hessel James Sr. and Evelyn Hamrick Plain. He graduated high school in Follett in 1956 and attended Clarendon Junior College. He married Shirley May Kliewer on May 25, 1957, and moved to Canyon. He graduated from West Texas State College with a B.S. in education and a M.A. in business administration. He was a teacher and business administrator for Canyon Independent School District and went to Region 16 Education Service Center in Amarillo as a business manager during its origination. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Randall County Sheriff's Posse while living in Canyon. He divorced in 1983, and moved to Austin where he was assistant superintendent for Round Rock and then Leander independent school districts until his retirement. He married Shellie Bailey on Sept. 22, 1984. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1987; and his brothers, Joe Plain in 1996 and Jack Plain in 1999. Survivors include his father of Booker; his wife of Austin; three daughters, Brenda Havens, Linda Tinsley and Kathy Tijerina, all of Canyon; five sisters, Elizabeth Couch of Shattuck, Okla., Coeta Sperry of Follett, Ellen Rabe of Perryton, Georgia Perez of Vega and Mary Hoover of Amarillo; a brother, John Plain of Methuen, Mass.; and six grandchildren.
