Mr. Godfrey was born March 25, 1916, in Memphis. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the VFW in Memphis. Survivors include a son, E.W. "Bubba" Godfrey of Houston; a daughter, Patricia Ann Socha of West Tawakoni; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Trumbly FRITCH - M.C. "Red" Trumbly, 71, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Highland Park Cemetery with the Rev. Wesley Holland, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Fritch, officiating. Arrangements are by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Trumbly had been an area resident since 1946. He was a member of the BPOE Lodge 1581 for 20 years. He bowled on two leagues for 28 years with a high series of 749 and a high game of 289. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He married Betty Miles on Nov. 24, 1951, in Borger. Mr. Pierson was born Nov. 20, 1931, in Whittenburg, Texas, to Orval and Thelma Judd Pierson. He served in the Army in Korea and Japan, later working in the heating and air conditioning business with his father in Beaver. She married Otha Hammonds in Clovis, N.M., on Nov. 11, 1939. She was a member of the Eastern Star and of the First Baptist Church of Bovina. She was preceded in death by her husband in September 1977; and a son, Larry W. Hammonds in December 1999. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Wooten was born April 22, 1911, in Crowell to James Martin and Mary Ellen Johnson. She married Horace Estes Wooten on Nov. 21, 1927, in Amarillo. She was a homemaker and was very active in the Glenwood PTA of which she was past president. For many years she taught young women's Sunday school class at Friendship Baptist Church where she was a lifetime member. For the last five years she made her home at Georgia Manor where she received loving care from her family and staff members. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979; and a son, Bobby Earl Wooten, in 1982. Survivors include two sons, Horace E. "Gene" Wooten of Amarillo and Jack D. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church of Canyon with Dr. Strauss Atkinson officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mrs. Ruthart was born Dec. 28, 1925, in Clarendon to James and Nora Lillard Billingsley. She graduated from Oklahoma Lane High School and married Crawford Ruthart in Canyon on Feb. 5, 1945. They were longtime residents of Canyon where she worked for Canyon Independent School District and West Texas State University in the accounting department. After Crawford's retirement they moved to Amarillo where she was a member of and active in the First Baptist Church of Amarillo. She was also involved in Senior Citizens. She loved her family and was lovingly called "Nan" by her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Gene Ruthart; her parents, James and Nora Billingsley; and a sister, Lucille Berry. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Sharon Henry and Karen Sue Dulaney, both of Canyon, and Donna Gail Ruthart of Amarillo; two sisters, Jo Veta Darnell and Zell Cain, both of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Koenig, 74, of Amarillo died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 15th Avenue and Martin Road. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Laurence Cathedral with Bishop Emeritus L.T. Matthiesen officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Koenig was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and a competitive shooter. He was a life member of the NRA. He married Aileen Clark on June 20, 1949, in Amarillo. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service until he retired. After retirement he worked at Billy Fred's Gun Shop. He was a member of many shooting and outdoor associations. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather to his family and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Clarence Koenig. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Landon Koenig and wife, Bobbye, of Howardwick, David Koenig and wife, Raelyn, and Chris Koenig and wife, Becky, all of Amarillo; a daughter, Katie Taylor of Amarillo; three sisters, Mary Raef, Dora Lane and Laura Bailey, all of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 4, 2002 Ruth Chanslor Waller Ruth Chanslor Waller, 78, of Amarillo died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church Chapel. Private family committal will be by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Waller was born in Ranger on Dec. 22, 1923. She moved to Borger when she was 6. She graduated from Borger High School in 1941. She then went to work for Phillips until 1944 when she met F.E. Waller. They were married Feb. 8, 1944. They moved to San Francisco where F.E. was stationed in the Navy. She was employed at the Pacific Command office as a secretary. After the war Mrs. Waller and her husband moved to Amarillo where they opened their first business in 1950. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church since 1950. She taught Sunday school for years and was active in the church for more than 50 years. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Vicki Fischer and husband, Bill, of Amarillo; two sisters, Katherine Braddock of Amarillo and Sara Gressett of Snyder; a brother, Blake Chanslor of Albuquerque, N.M.; and two grandchildren, Sondra Montgomery and Tiffani Fischer, both of Amarillo. Mrs. Jones was born Nov. 30, 1923, in House to Sarah and Arthur L. Morrow. She taught elementary school at Lindsey and James Schools in Portales for 22 years. She was a faithful member of the University Drive Church of Christ. Pallbearers will be Tom Davis, Melvin Turnbow, Vernon Morrison, Peter Thompson, Dan Greathouse and Floyd McAlister. All of her many friends will serve as honorary pallbearers. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a brother.
