He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the 870th Bombardment Squadron stationed in Guam. Mr. Urton was a carpenter in Carpenters Local No. 665 for 68 years. He retired in July 1982 from Paige and Wirtz Construction. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Christian Church for more than 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife on July 13, 1998; and a son, James Urton on July 5, 1985. He owned and operated Clark's Appliance Service and also owned and managed Western Auto Stores in Shamrock and Commerce. He was a veteran of the Army during World War II, serving as military police. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 966 of Pampa and First Baptist Church, where he was an outreach leader/volunteer. He also volunteered for Integrated Health Services. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1998.
