Mrs. James lived in Pampa since 1931, moving to Long Beach, Calif., in 1960 and Tulsa in 1971. She was a licensed practical nurse. He recently graduated from Amarillo College Radiation Therapy Program and was employed by Alamogordo Cancer Center. Mrs. Williams was born Aug. 12, 1951, in Surigao City, Mindinao, Philippines, to Rosario and Leonardo Barahan and was the third of eight children. She married Larry W. Williams Jr. on Aug. 10, 1986, in Amarillo. Mrs. Williams worked as a telemarketing customer service representative for SITEL Corp. for four and a half years. Previously, she worked for Amarillo Club and Golden Chopsticks. When she lived in Waco, she worked for the Lam family at the Cathay House. When she lived in Houston, she worked for Hunan Village restaurants. Mrs. Williams was a charter member of the "Medal of Honor" Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 430, Ladies Auxiliary. Mr. Smith was born in Ralph Switch. He was a lifetime resident of Canyon until moving to Amarillo in 1994. He joined the Air Force early in World War II and served as a waist gunner aboard a B-17 over the Aleutian Islands. He returned to the United States where he underwent pilot training and later flew B-26s and P-38s. He also served during the Korean conflict. He retired from the Air Force on March 12, 1979. He later worked as a cabinetmaker. He was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church, the Homebuilders Sunday School Class, Retired Officers Association and the Air Force Association. He married Laurese Stewart on Nov. 24, 1982, in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Mike McConahay; a stepdaughter, Christy Blake of Canyon; a stepson, Mark Stapleton of Amarillo; and a brother, Wayne Smith of Dumas. Bell St., with Chester O'Brien and Mark Love officiating. Mrs. Cearley was born March 31, 1912, in Alvord, one of 12 children. She married Allen Cearley on Nov. 16, 1929, in Waurika, Okla. They moved from Slidell to Amarillo in 1942. She worked in the drapery department of Sears until she retired in 1972. She and her husband, Allen, were members of San Jacinto Baptist Church, where they worked in the nursery department. She was dearly loved by her family, and her grandchildren were very special to her and she to them. She and Allen moved from their home to an apartment in the Good Samaritan Retirement Center (Canyons) in 1991. The residents became Mattie's friends and "second family" and she never forgot them. In August 1999, she moved to Winter Garden, Fla., and lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Imogene and Dub Bryant. She lived there until her death. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Winter Garden. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years on April 10, 1996; two sisters; and four brothers. Survivors include three children, Douglas and wife, Clara, of Amarillo, Imogene Bryant and husband, Dub, of Winter Garden and Butch and wife, Barbara, of Tyler; four sisters, Burtis McKinney of Fort Worth, Euvela Jones of Lewisville, Helen McKinney of Decatur, and Melba Jo Siegmund and husband, Ray, of Fort Stockton; a brother, Jasper Sipes and wife, Dorthy, of Salt Lake City; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She volunteered for Amarillo Girl Scouts, once was president of Amarillo Foster Parent Association and was a foster parent.
