Fisher PAMPA - Charles G. Fisher, 67, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors, Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Full Gospel Church, and Philip Elsheimer officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery with full military honors by the Army from Fort Hood. Mr. Fisher was a veteran of the Air Force from 1952 to 1956 and was a veteran of the Army from 1963 until retiring in 1979 as SFC after having served two tours in Vietnam. He was the VFW District commander in 1991. Survivors include his wife, Juanita; three sons, Andy G. Fisher of Enterprise, Ala., Tim R. Fisher and Bryan K. A praise service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Gruver First Baptist Church with Scott Curry, pastor, and Larry Miller, pastor of the Eastern Hill Baptist Church in Albuquerque, N.M., officiating. Family graveside services will be Monday morning at the Gruver Cemetery. Arrangements are by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Mr. Rasor was united in marriage with Phyllis Christie on May 19, 1956. He was an active member of the Gruver First Baptist Church, serving as a deacon. Mrs. Rapstine was born Dec. 27, 1914, in Bartlesville, Okla. She had been a resident of White Deer for about 75 years. She married Ben Rapstine on Aug. 15, 1933, in Amarillo. He preceded her in death in 1999. She was a homemaker and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in White Deer and the Sacred Heart Altar Society. He married Ruby Jones on Feb. 20, 1938, in Amarillo. He was a charter member of Bunavista Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sunset Memorial Park of Stinnett. Mr. Turner was born Nov. 6, 1937, to D.C. and Bernice Bates Turner in Borger. He was a graduate of North Texas State University and a federal employee for 30 years before retiring. He was a mason and member of the First United Methodist Church in Plano. He was preceded in death by his father in 1969; and his mother in 2000. Survivors include his wife, Glenna; a son, Randy Turner of Plano; a brother, D.C. Mr. Curry was born July 26, 1914, in Gatesville. He married Aleta Virginia Flowers on Nov. 15, 1936, in New Mexico. Survivors include two daughters, Melba Virginia McIlroy of Iowa Park and Mary Janice Carpenter of Lubbock; a son, Donald Lee Curry of Amarillo; a sister, Mary Louise Godwin of Stephenville; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the First Baptist Church building fund. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 17, 2002 Doyle Hooten LUBBOCK - Doyle Hooten, 91, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Tulia with the Rev. Charles Davenport and Mr. Hooten's sons, Don Hooten, of Perryton, and the Rev. Mel Hooten, pastor of South Park Baptist Church in Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia. Mr. Hooten was born July 8, 1911, in Oglesby. He married Ethel Christian on March 28, 1936, in Florence, Ariz. He attended schools at Lone Star, Kaffer and Tulia. He helped lay the brick streets of downtown Tulia and worked on the Mackenzie Lake Dam. He managed the Kaffer Grain Elevator for 15 years and was a postal service mail carrier in Tulia for 20 years when he retired. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Tulia where he was a deacon and a greeter. He moved to Lubbock from Tulia eight months ago and he was a member of South Park Baptist Church in Lubbock for eight months. He was a member of the Tulia Masonic Lodge where he was a past master. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a district deputy for the Masons in 1951. He was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star where he was a Worthy Patron. Survivors include his wife, Ethel; two sons, Don Hooten of Perryton and Mel Hooten of Lubbock; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. The family will greet friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Don Grantham Funeral Home. Mr. Domme was born April 2, 1940, in Topeka, Kan., to Joseph Lawrence and Helen Georgine Snyder Domme. He was a rail train supervisor for Burlington Northern Santa Fe for 37 years. He married Donna Nell Kerley on Jan. 3, 1996, in Lake Tahoe, Nev. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Domme. Mrs. Fischer was born April 22, 1930, in Los Angeles. She was active in First Baptist Church of Hooker where she was a member more than 50 years. Survivors include her husband, Norman; two daughters, Linda Fischer of Denver and Carla Thomas of Mooreland; three sons, Dick Fischer, Tom Fischer and Harry Fischer, all of Hooker; two brothers, Allen Williams of Elgin, Ore., and Gerald Williams of La Cygne, Kan.; two sisters-in-law, Leanore Williams of Peoria, Ariz., and Carolyn Fischer of Hooker; a brother-in-law, Donnie Fischer of Hooker; numerous grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 17, 2002 Amarillo Hugh Edward Allen Hugh Edward Allen, 90, of Amarillo died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Robert E. Field officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Allen was born Aug. 7, 1912, to Joe and Libbie Allen in Gainsville. The family moved to Happy in 1920 where he attended school. He worked for the Santa Fe Railway during the 1930s in Happy. In 1936 he went to work for Universal Car Loading Co. in Amarillo. He worked there until he joined the Army in 1942. He was a career Army officer retiring in 1965 as a lieutenant colonel after 28 years of service. He served in Germany, where his son was born, during the occupation in Berlin. He also served in Korea, Japan and across the United States. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Winifield Allen, in 1991 after 51 years of marriage. Survivors include a son, Kirby Allen and wife, Nancy, of Destin, Fla.; a sister, Callie Branner and husband, Johnny, of Amarillo; and two grandsons, Brent Allen and Kyle Allen, both of Colorado Springs, Colo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Plum Creek Fellowship Church with Jim L. Witcher, of First Christian Church of Tucumcari, N.M., officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Witcher was born in Lockney and moved to Amarillo after his discharge from the Army in 1945. He was married to Beth Witcher on Jan. 20, 1942. She died on Jan. 20, 2002. He was a member of West Amarillo Church of Christ now Plum Creek Fellowship Church for 56 years. He loved his family on both sides of the 60-year marriage and was proud of his military service in the 24th Infantry (M) in the Pacific in World War II. Survivors include two sons, Donald Witcher of Amarillo and David Witcher of Russellville, Ark.; a brother, Alva Witcher of San Angelo; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 17, 2002 Harold Lynn Wright Harold Lynn Wright, 79, of Amarillo died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Zybach Cemetery of Allison with the Rev. John Wagner, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Dumas, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler. Mr. Wright was born to Norman and Lillian Taylor Wright on June 8, 1923, in Archer City. He graduated valedictorian from Allison High School in 1942. He served 31/2 years in the 44th Infantry Division in the European Campaign. He returned to the U.S. and worked at Continental Carbon in Dumas for four years. He married Louise Wise of Allison on June 1, 1946. They enjoyed 56 years of marriage. He farmed briefly then went to work for C.I.G. for 32 years where he retired 17 years ago. He never really knew the meaning of retirement as he once again farmed for a few years in Wheeler and in the last few years enjoyed working on lawn mowers. He was a member of the VFW in Dumas and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife, Louise; two daughters, Ann Nelson of Oklahoma City and Janie Haley and husband, Dale, of Amarillo; a brother, Taylor Wright of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Amy, Leasa and Paul; and two great-grandchildren, Tanner and Brittney.
