He was a caring friend to all who knew him and served as a peer mediator in school. Mr. Boynton, born Jan. 20, 1921, in Amarillo, graduated from Amarillo High School in 1939, where he lettered in basketball and football. In 1943, he joined the Air Corps, serving as a fighter pilot during World War II. He retired from the Air Force where he attained the rank of major. He then started working for Burlington Railroad. Mr. Boynton married Neita Webster on June 7, 1941, in Canyon. Robert enjoyed golf and flying in his spare time, and was a gifted carpenter, building six houses over the course of his life. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, serving with the Scottish Rite in Lubbock and was a member of Palo Duro Lodge No. 1239 in Amarillo. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark Boynton and wife, Gwen, of San Antonio; and a grandson, Scott Boynton, who attends Texas Tech University in Lubbock. He served in the Army during World War II and received a Bronze Star and other military honors. Mr. Sanchez was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and also a life member of Knights of Columbus. Mr. Sanchez worked for Broome Optical for many years and was a member of St. Laurence Cathedral. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Barbara Sanchez; and a son-in-law, Bruce Ford.
