Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church Chapel. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Steen was born on Aug. 18, 1914, in White Flat. She married W.H. Steen on Aug. 18, 1932, in Clayton, N.M. Survivors include two sons, Preston Steen of Plainview and Earl Steen of Hale Center; a daughter, Carolyn Smith of Lubbock; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 29, 2002. C. Wayne Gouldy WILDORADO - C. Wayne Gouldy, 79, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at N.S. Griggs & Sons Pioneer Chapel with the Rev. Jim Watkins of Wesley United Methodist Church of Hereford and Dr. Ron Muller of Palo Duro Baptist Church of Wildorado officiating. Burial will be in Palo Duro-Wildorado Cemetery. Mr. Gouldy was born and raised in Wildorado. He graduated from Wildorado High School as salutatorian. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. and served in World War II. He was discharged in 1945. He married Charolyn Waters in 1954 at the Hagy Ranch north of Amarillo. He was a farmer and rancher for many years in Wildorado before his retirement. He was a member of Vega United Methodist Church and of the American Quarter Horse Association. He cherished the family's annual fishing trip to Surprise Valley Ranch in New Mexico. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sharla Richardson of Canyon and Sheri Artho and husband, Steve of Amarillo; two sons, Cliff Gouldy and wife, Loretta, and Clint Gouldy and wife, Denise, all of Wildorado; two sisters, Doris McDade of Amarillo and Lois Rea and husband, Dean, of Canyon; nine grandchildren, Reid Richardson, Ryan Richardson and Siara Richardson, all of Canyon, Charmane Gouldy and Camille Gouldy of Wildorado, Nolan Artho and Sheridan Artho of Amarillo and Jake Gouldy and Abby Gouldy of Wildorado; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Ingram was born June 23, 1930, in Moore, Okla. He was an Air Force veteran. He lived in Pampa since 1978 where he worked for Malcolm Hinkle until 1986. He owned and operated Ingram Plumbing for 17 years. He was a Baptist. Survivors include two sons, Chuck Ingram of Pampa and Tim Ingram of Liberal, Kan.; four brothers Floyd Ingram of Chickasha, Okla., Harold Ingram of Okemah, Okla., George Ingram of Great Falls, Mont., and Richard Ingram of Moore; and four grandchildren. Joe Ed Purer BOOKER - Joe Ed Purer, 73, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, in Perryton. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Booker Christian Church with Jim O'Banion officiating. He was a construction contractor and built numerous homes in the Booker/Perryton area. Mrs. Allison attended schools in Lockney and Sayer, Okla. After graduating, she married Olson C. Allison on Jan. 2, 1931, in Sayer, Okla. Survivors include her son, Don Allison of Dallas; a daughter, Darla Cross of Plainview; two sisters Gwen McPherson of Midland and Una Fay Whitfill of Silverton; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 29, 2002. Amarillo Cone J. Adams Cone J. Adams, 94, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in San Jacinto Church of Christ with J.R. Chisum officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Mr. Adams had been an Amarillo resident for the past 32 years. He was born in Bonham County on Oct. 13, 1908. He moved to Hall County by immigrant train when he was 6 months old. The family settled near Leslie and he graduated from Leslie High School. He took business courses at Abilene Christian College and later returned to Leslie to work. He married Lavinia Ruth Ables on July 2, 1928, in Lakeview. He was engaged in cotton farming in Hall County during his early years. In 1940, the family moved to Phillips, where he worked for Phillips Petroleum Co. as a stillman. In 1943, they moved to Borger and he became an ornamental ironworker. This work spanned a period of 50 years, and included work on the Phillips gasoline refineries in Borger, Phillips and the Houston area, the Air Force Academy, various missile sites in Oklahoma and New Mexico, the Steel Plant at Pueblo, Colo., the Copper Plant at Amarillo, and the Amarillo National Bank building. As a retired ornamental ironworker foreman, he received a 55-year pin from the Dallas Local No. 263 Union. Mr. Adams and his wife were the founders of a women's softball team, the Borger Bees, which lasted from the early 1940s through the 1960s. He coached and managed the team which was made up of teen-agers, housewives and working ladies. The team played in Oklahoma, towns all over the Texas Panhandle, and in south Texas, including State Women's Softball Tournaments in Austin and Galveston. He was baptized in 1938 at the Memphis Church of Christ. He was a member of the 2nd and Deahl and Gardner Street Churches of Christ in Borger and the San Jacinto Church of Christ in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Bobby Joyce Beaty of Amarillo and Glenda Ruth Adams of Lakewood, Colo.; four sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; four grandchildren, Mark Beaty and Cindy Beaty of San Antonio and Thomas (Beaty) Ratliff and Glyna (Beaty) Ratliff of Timbercreek Canyon; and six great-grandchildren, Lori Lyn Beaty and Delanie Beaty, Derek Ratliff, Michelle Ratliff, Rebecca Ratliff and David Ratliff; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Blackburn-Shaw Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Channing Cemetery in Channing. Mrs. Breitling was very active in the Grand Avenue Baptist Church. She was a stenographer for the Amarillo Air Force Base Commander for 20 years. She also managed Highland Park Housing Complex. She married H.E. Breitling on March 23, 1940. They were married for 62 years. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lois McGinty. Thelma "Edna" Wood Thelma "Edna" Wood, 83, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Dr. Charles Jones of Second Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Wood had lived and worked in Amarillo since she was 18 years old. She worked at Pantex Ammunition Plant during World War II and for more than 20 years as a baker at Sally Ann Bakery. She loved working in her yard, gardening and canning. She crocheted caps, booties and lap robes for nursing homes and the homeless through RSVP. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. She was an active member of Carpenter's Auxiliary No. 180 for 34 years. She lived her final days at Georgia Manor Nursing Facility. She will be surely missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Wood, her parents, Jack and Mary (Jantz) Zacharias, a brother, Ervin Zacharias, and a sister, Leona Hilburn. Survivors include three sisters, Olga Hendricks, Mary Gaddert and Pauline Stafford; two brothers, Aaron Zacharias and Herman Zacharias; and several nieces, nephews and friends. She came to the United States in 1939 after doing mission work in Colombia, South America. She was director of novices in Pasto, Colombia, and Wartensee, Switzerland. She worked in Santa Fe and Montezuma, N.M. She taught in Colorado City and in Hereford. Burial will be in the Lipscomb Cemetery. Mr. Sell lived in Enid and owned the Flybird Inn, later called the Sunset Lounge. He moved to Woodward after retiring.
