Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Sparks, pastor of Union Church in Spearman, and the Rev. Lonny Robbins, pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Wilson was born on May 19, 1901, in Indian Territory at Lamont, Okla., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Campbell. She spent her childhood and early adult years in Oklahoma, graduating from high school in Fairfax, Okla. She later attended Phillips University in Enid, Okla. She became a Christian at age 14 and a member of First Christian Church in Fairfax. She came to Pampa in 1926 and became well-known as a piano teacher, teaching for more than 40 years. She was also a pianist at First Christian Church and Community Christian Center for many years. She was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church in Pampa. She married Ramon C. Wilson, a Gray County auditor, on June 7, 1929, in Pampa. He preceded her in death in 1988. After retiring from teaching, she began studying oil painting and continued to paint until nearly 90 years of age. Survivors include a daughter, Kay Wilson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a son, Jerry Wilson and wife, Susie, of Pampa; a sister Colleen Mihoover of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren, Kim Wilson Stevens and husband, Kenny, of Waco, Chris Wilson and wife, Erin, of Lubbock, and Greg Wilson and wife, Michele, of Round Rock; five great-grandchildren, Benjamin Stevens, Nicholas Stevens, Matthew Stevens and Elizabeth Stevens, all of Waco, and Dax Wilson of Lubbock. He was a member of the Life Tabernacle Church. He married June Lackey on June 5, 1948, in Moore County. He retired in 1984 after 38 years with Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Co. as a natural gas mechanic. Georgia St. Mrs. Forbes graduated from Rising Star High School in 1940. She attended North Texas State University and received a bachelor's degree. She then attended the University of Texas during 1956 and 1957 where she received a master's in business administration. She taught school for 40 years and worked for Region 16 E.S.C. She retired on June 26, 1993. She was a resident of Palo Duro Nursing Home in Claude for four years. She enjoyed making ceramics and porcelain dolls. She enjoyed playing games and teaching others. She was a member of First Baptist Church and helped with special education children and the deaf ministry. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Ray Cox; two sisters, Audie Mae and Claudie Fay Cox; and a grandson, Cody Forbes. She married Charlie William Murphy Jr. in Amarillo on July 20, 1942. They owned the Baby Valet Diaper Service in Amarillo before moving to Plainview in 1953. They lived together in Plainview until December of 1997 when they moved to Amarillo. She was a homemaker and had an active part in the family farm and the family business of custom combining. She was a longtime member of the Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ in Plainview until her move to Amarillo where she joined the San Jacinto Church of Christ. She was active in the Plainview Senior Citizen's Association and an avid bridge player. She enjoyed playing games. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie William Murphy Jr.; her parents; three sisters; and five brothers. She was a member and ruling elder of the Presbyterian Church in Hartshorne. She had also served as church secretary-treasurer for years. While in Amarillo, she received her spiritual care from First Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Riedt, in 2001; and a son, Tinker Riedt, in 2001. Mr. Roberts preceded her in death in 1966 and she moved to Port Isabel, working as a real estate broker, and becoming a respected artist. She married Mr. Walt Pierce in 1972 and he preceded her in death in 1986. In later years she moved to Amarillo. She had a great wit, wrote poetry, was an astute business woman and a lover of the outdoors and all people. McClendon in 1933. They owned and operated McClendon Grocery Store on old Route 66, Sixth Street, until their retirement in 1972. She was a charter member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of Amarillo Obedience Training Club, the Puli Club of America, Powhatan Historical Society of Powhatan, Va., and the Ester McCrory Chapter of the DAR. He managed Whiting Brothers Service Stations for many years, worked in marketing for several firms and retired as a material handler with 16 years of service in February 1990 from Bell Helicopter. He married Frances Wilkins on Jan. 20, 1945, in Pecos. He was a bookkeeper for Pinkney Packing Co. for 20 years and later retired from Energas where he was an accountant for 19 years. He was a member of Amarillo Lodge No. 731, El Paso Scottish Rite, Khiva Temple and Trinity Baptist Church. He raised show rabbits for 40 years and was past president of Amarillo Rabbit Breeders Association and a national director of the American Rabbit Breeders Association. His first wife, Doris Jean Wilshire, preceded him in death in 1986. He married Louise Blanks Thomas on May 28, 1987, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. in Hobart Rose Cemetery of Hobart, Okla., by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Burns was born in Bellville, Ill., on Oct. 3, 1948. He married Sherrie Altmiller on May 30, 1969, in Amarillo. He received a bachelor's degree in speech from West Texas State University in 1973. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an air traffic controller at Amarillo International Airport for 10 years and had been transferred to the Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City for the past two years. He had just recently retired and moved back to Amarillo. He was a Mason, member of the Palo Duro Lodge No. 731, member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a member of the Golden Spread Barbershop Chorus. He loved his family, friends and community. Amarillo was always home and his Tascosa Rebel pride permeated even to his two Sandie children. His big heart and smile will always be remembered. His loving touch, sound advice and joyful spirit were not only a comfort to all, but an inspiration as well. He left no heart or mind he encountered untouched. For that, we will always be grateful. Survivors include his wife, Sherrie; a daughter, Amy Burns of Odessa; a son, Kevin Burns of Bryan College Station; his parents, D.B. and Kay Burns of Hobart, Okla.; a brother, Patrick Burns of Hurst; and two sisters, Melinda Bellack of Hobart and Mary Gerred of Tulsa, Okla. Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 15, 2002 New Mexico Esequiel A. Lucero CLOVIS, N.M. - Esequiel A. Lucero, 95, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the church with Sotero Sena officiating. A second mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Dumas, Texas, with the Rev. Michael Colwell officiating. Burial will be Tuesday in the Dumas Cemetery by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Lucero married Marcella Salaz in 1925 in Trementina and was a farm laborer in Hereford, Texas. He then came to Clovis in 1991 and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Survivors include five daughters, Sadie Armstrong and Socorro Lucero, both of Clovis, Tina Garcia and Mary Lou Gallegos, both of Amarillo, Texas, and Rosie Morales of Valmora; eight sons, Vidal Lucero of Dumas, Fred Lucero of Clovis, Epifanio Lucero of Littlefield, Texas, Joe Conrad Lucero of Clarendon, Texas, Florencio Lucero, Bennie Lucero, Mike Lucero and Joe Sotero Lucero, all of Amarillo; 340 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 15, 2002 Sue J. Mims ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Sue J. Mims, 72, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Alameda Mortuary Chapel of Albuquerque. Burial will be in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Mrs. Mims was active in theater throughout the 1970s and performed at Popejoy Hall. She was a member of the Albuquerque Light Opera. Survivors include two sons, Steve Mims and Ron Mims; two sisters, Dorothy Timmons and Sandra Childers; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
