Mr. Price was born March 3, 1943, in Pampa where he had been a lifelong resident. He was an independent truck driver for many years. Survivors include two sons, David E. Price Jr. of Amarillo and Shawn Christopher Price of Reno, Nev.; his mother, Aldine Lawrence of Wellington; a sister, Nelda Clements of Pampa; two brothers, Gary Price of Albuquerque, N.M., and Larry Price of Pampa; and five grandchildren. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Cator was born Feb. 27, 1909, in Alva, Okla. She graduated from Guymon High School and attended PAMC in Goodwill, Okla. She taught school for several years. She married Jim Cator, a Hansford County rancher, Dec. 23, 1933. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Gruver and was a charter member of the Gruver Music Club. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1960; and a granddaughter, Katie M'Lynn Webb in 1982. Survivors include three daughters, Carolynn Broadhurst, LuAnn Smith and Maelynn Webb, all of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She graduated from Memphis High School in 1934 and attended West Texas State in Canyon. Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 16, 2002 Lucille Drerup NAZARETH - Lucille Drerup, 85, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Catholic Church with John Hickey officiating. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mrs. Drerup was born Nov. 27, 1917, in Nazareth. She married Ed Drerup on Jan. 19, 1937, in Nazareth. She was born and raised in Nazareth where she attended school. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Society. She was a charter member of the Catholic Daughter Organizations and a charter member of the Order of Martha. She was a Nazareth Museum board member, member of the Nazareth Senior Citizens, the Nazareth Art Club and a charter member of the Castro County Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was one of the founders of the Nazareth German Festival and served on the Castro County Hospital board from 1992 to 1995. She taught kindergarten religion class for several years. She laundered and ironed the church altar linens until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Drerup, in 1976; three brothers, Vincent Guggemos, Leonard Guggemos and Richard Guggemos; and a grandson, Stanley Drerup, in 1986. Survivors include a son, Joe Drerup and wife, Imogene, of Nazareth; five daughters, Evelyn Ball and husband, James, of Plainview, Ethel Schmucker and husband, Dan, of Nazareth, Grace DeCardenas of Dallas, Nancy Drerup of Garland and Carol Gary and husband, John, of Lubbock; five sisters, Alice Fisher of Midland, Rita Hoffman of El Paso, Rosemary Willhelm of Nazareth, Stella Shirley of Friona and Betty Bartels of Hereford; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Smithson was born on May 21, 1904, in Texarkana to Victor Edward Buron and Gabrielle Avondino Buron. She was a longtime rancher and resident of Union County. Jr., 95, died in Carlsbad, N.M., Friday, Dec. 13, 2002. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Lynn Garrett, of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Carder was born April 16, 1907, in Amarillo to Charles William Carder Sr. and Kitty Lewellen Jones Carder. He was raised and educated in Amarillo where he was a member of First Baptist Church since 1917. He married Rachael Thomas on Feb. 10, 1930, in Clovis, N.M. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 52 years and was transferred to Carlsbad, N.M., in 1963. He was a member of Elks Lodge BPOE No. 1558, Eddy Lodge No. 21, AF & AM, 32nd Scottish Rite Mason and the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce. He was a charter member and past president of Riverside Country Club Senior Golf Association and loved to play golf and garden. He was preceded in death by his wife on Jan. 19, 2000; two brothers, O.F. and Alvin Carder; and a sister, Phoebe Carder Crouch. Survivors include a daughter, Charlyn Carder of Georgetown. Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 16, 2002 Marie Bear DeLaughter Marie Bear DeLaughter, 83, of Amarillo died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002. Services will be at a later date in Dallas by Laureland Funeral Home and Cemetery. Local arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. DeLaughter was born March 4, 1919, in Crockett to Minnie Augusta Meredith Bear and Hiram A. Bear. She married Arman D. "A.D." DeLaughter in Dallas on Aug. 2, 1940. Her husband was a Church of Christ minister and served several congregations throughout Dallas and East Texas. Mrs. DeLaughter was active in Church of Christ activities for many years. She was last a member of the Jefferson Boulevard Church of Christ in Dallas. She graduated in 1939 from Madisonville High School in Madisonville. She participated in the National Youth Administration while in high school. She retired from Abbott Laboratories in 1985 where she was a pharmacy order data operator. She led an active retirement life as a volunteer at Scottish Rite Children's Hospital in Dallas and as a singer with the semi-professional Red Bird Singers, a group of retired women who sang for senior groups throughout the Dallas area. She was also active in the Oak Cliff Chapter of AARP and played in bowling leagues for many years at Red Bird Lanes in DeSoto where she won many honors including playing the nationally televised program, Bowling for Dollars. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1975; her parents; and all five siblings. Survivors include three children, Claudia DeLaughter Stravato of Amarillo, Nita Gaye DeLaughter of Bellingham, Wash., and Jerry N. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. today in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Fields was an Army veteran in Korea and received the purple heart. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Hester Fields; a daughter, Anne Patterson; a brother, Doc Fields; a sister, Mandy Forshey; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Fields; and a nephew, Ronnie Fields. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. in Hobart Rose Cemetery of Hobart, Okla., by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Burns was born in Bellville, Ill., on Oct. 3, 1948. He married Sherrie Altmiller on May 30, 1969, in Amarillo. He received a bachelor degree in speech from West Texas State University in 1973. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an air traffic controller at Amarillo International Airport for 10 years and had been transferred to the Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City for the past two years. He had just recently retired and moved back to Amarillo. He was a Mason, member of the Palo Duro Lodge No. 731, member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a member of the Golden Spread Barbershop Chorus. He loved his family, friends and community. Amarillo was always home and his Tascosa Rebel pride permeated even to his two Sandie children. His big heart and smile will always be remembered. His loving touch, sound advice and joyful spirit were not only a comfort to all, but an inspiration as well. He left no heart or mind he encountered untouched. For that, we will always be grateful. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Bratcher, known as "Bill" to friends and family, was born June 24, 1927, in Fluvanna. He was the son of Viola Hawkins Bratcher and Earl Bratcher Sr. He served with the Army during World War II. He managed Whiting Brothers Service Stations for many years, worked in marketing for several firms and retired as a material handler with 16 years of service in February 1990 from Bell Helicopter. He married Frances Wilkins on Jan. 20, 1945, in Pecos. He was preceded in death by his parents of Roswell, N.M.; a brother, James Calvin Bratcher of Lake Arthur, N.M.; a sister, Lois Marie King of Fort Worth; and a grandson, Billy Dean Bratcher of Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Bill Bratcher and wife, Gayle, Leigh Bratcher and wife, Rudy, and Paul Bratcher and wife, Diann; five grandchildren, Connie Antwine, Danette Fenstermaker, Mistie Whitacre, Scott Bratcher and Jodi Verner; and nine great-grandchildren, all of Amarillo.
