Stroud SKELLYTOWN - William F. Stroud, 86, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, in Borger. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia with the Rev. Scott Hensley, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Tulia, officiating. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia. Mr. Stroud was born April 4, 1916. He married Bettie Stroud on Aug. 19, 1950, in Clovis, N.M. Survivors include a nephew; four nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 21, 2002 Richard D. Sell Richard D. Sell, 70, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Heart Cemetery in Booker by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Sell was a member of First Baptist Church of Perryton. He was a farmer and rancher. He took great pride in his maternally superior registered Herefords and Red Angus. In 1998 he was awarded the 823 Honor Medal by the Republic of Taiwan for his service defending the Republic of China from Invasion by Communist China during November 1956. He attended four years of college at McMuray College and Oklahoma A&M, but before graduating, was accepted into the naval aviation flight school in Pensacola, Fla. He served four years as a Navy and Marine fighter pilot, much of which was spent stationed in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. He married Rita Watkins on July 6, 1956. In 1958 he was honorably discharged and moved back to Booker to farm and ranch with his father, Dan Sell. He enjoyed farming, but raising cattle was his first love. Survivors include his wife; four sons, David Sell of Booker, Kerry Sell of Birch Bay, Wash., Tom Sell of Tulsa, Okla., and Matt Sell of Austin; his father, Dan Sell of Booker; two sisters, Edna Mae Norton of Niotaze, Kan., and JoAnn Bechthold of Booker; and 14 grandchildren. Burial will be in Texola Cemetery in Texola, Okla., by Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home of Erick, Okla. Mrs. Admire had lived in Texola for many years, where she and her daughter owned a fabric shop. She moved to Shamrock in 1998 to be near her daughter. Survivors include a daughter, Kay Atkins of Shamrock; a son, Fay Admire of Temple; two nephews she raised; and four grandsons. Mrs. Partain was born July 30, 1917, in Leedey, Okla., and moved from there to the Ashtola Community near Clarendon in 1954. She married Robert Roy Partain on June 27, 1942, in Amarillo. She was a homemaker and a member of Clarendon Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Emory Partain in 1956; and a sister, Evelyn Bentley in 1997. She married Robert C. Moore on July 22, 1959, in Amarillo. Mrs. Moore was a transportation clerk for Veterans Affairs Hospital for 34 years, retiring in 1971. She moved to Windsor, Colo., in 1996 from Amarillo, then moved to Loveland, Colo., in 2001. Mrs. Moore was a past matron of Order of the Eastern Star, A.E. Shirley Chapter 986. She was also a member of American Business Women and Paramount Terrace Christian Church. She enjoyed oil painting and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Jean Adsit and Billie Wilson; and a brother, Ralph Dowd. Mr. Briones was a loving son and brother, a good grandchild and nephew, a fun cousin, a good godson and a good friend. He was a South Georgia Eagle, a Bonham Mustang, an Amarillo High Sandie and a fighting Texas Longhorn. In his life, he played the piano from third grade up to his senior year, and he played viola in his elementary, middle school and high school orchestras. He played soccer and always had a soft heart for homeless dogs. He was a true leader as Amarillo High's 1999-2000 National Honor Society President and was recently elected president of Alpha Phi Omega Community Service Fraternity at University of Texas at Austin. Having just turned 21 on July 4, Ryan had aspirations at attend University of Texas Law School after graduating with a double major in Government and Spanish. Survivors include his parents, Marc and Gina Briones of Amarillo; a sister, Joy Briones of Amarillo; and his grandparents, Eduvijes and Ildefonso Legayada of the Philippines and Monica Briones of Amarillo.
