Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Christian Church with the Rev. Barry Loving, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hawkins had been a resident of Pampa since 1930, graduating from Pampa High School in 1944. She worked for Hawkins Radio Lab for about 22 years as a bookkeeper, retiring in 1982. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church. Survivors include her husband, Leaton; a son, Stephen Dale Hawkins of Pampa; a daughter, Jean Ann DuBowik of Austin; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First Christian Church, 1633 N. Nelson, Pampa, TX 79065; or to BSA Hospice, 800 N. Sumner, Pampa, TX 79065. Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 23, 2002 C.W. Mickey TULIA - C.W. Mickey, 76, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel with David Yankee, Church of Christ minister from Douglasville, Ga., officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Mickey was born Nov. 22, 1926, in Petersburg. He was a farmer and a preacher for the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Gloria; a son, David Mickey of Amarillo; a sister, Dr. Theresa McCormick; a brother, Trueman Mickey; and three grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 23, 2002 Mona LaVaun Bussard LIPSCOMB - Mona LaVaun Bussard, 80, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Lipscomb Cemetery with Donald Hill, minister of the River Church in Canadian, officiating. Arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mrs. Bussard was born in Lipscomb County to Bill and Leora Turner. She married John Hill on Aug. 31, 1940. He died in 1947. She then married Jim Bussard on May 5, 1953. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Beatrice "Appie" Rogers and Mary Margaret Teter. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Lane Hill and wife, Brenda, of Darrouzett and Lance Bussard of Lipscomb; a daughter, LaVaun Kraft and husband, Merle, of Lipscomb; two brothers, Kenzy Turner and Kay Turner, both of Lipscomb; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger, Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. J.D. Young, pastor of Victory Baptist Church in Stinnett, officiating. Burial will be in Stinnett Cemetery. Mr. Jernberg was born on Dec. 24, 1933, in Kansas. He was a retired truck driver for G.P. Guinn Trucking. Survivors include a son, Gerald Jernberg of Stinnett; a daughter, Bobbette Matthews of Stinnett; and six grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, 800 N. Sumner, Pampa, TX 79055. Amarillo Globe-News, Dec. 23, 2002 Amarillo Lee Roy Peek Lee Roy Peek, 84, of Amarillo died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Strauss Atkinson, pastor emeritus of the First Baptist Church in Canyon, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount. Mr. Peek was born in Clairmont and raised in Girard. He married Geneva Simmons on Jan. 1, 1939. She preceded him in death in 1987. He moved to Amarillo in 1947 from Plainview. He was employed at Continental Trailways as divisional superintendent for 44 years before retiring in 1983. He was past worshipful master of Palo Duro Lodge No. 1239 and past worthy patron of Eastern Star. He was also a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was preceded in death by a son, John E. Peek, in 1993. Survivors include two sons, Garland Peek and wife, Connie, of Alamogordo, N.M., and Richard Peek and wife, Becky, of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. "Pete" Looney Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors by DAV Chapter 26. Mr. Looney was born July 12, 1923, in Mobeetie to John A. and Lela Mays Looney. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a Navy reservist attached to the Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Center in Amarillo. He was a member of the VFW and was employed at Pantex. He attended Trinity Fellowship Church. He married Edna Battle on March 8, 1979, in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Celia Pierce and Susan Looney, both of Arizona, and Carley Hazard of Raleigh, N.C.; a stepson, Thomas Sellers of Champaign, Ill; a stepdaughter, Hazel Stinson of Amarillo; a sister, Nita Houston of Amarillo; a brother, Roy Looney of Amarillo; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church with Sotero Sena officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Martinez was a retired truck and taxi driver. He was a World War II veteran. Survivors include four sons, Jimmy Martinez of Lubbock, Texas, Robert, Michael and Marty Martinez, all of Clovis; seven daughters, Judy Encinias, Marlene Vela, Charlene Montoya, Rebecca Holt and Carolyn Griego, all of Clovis, Jolene Weiss of Hedley, Texas, and Joann Tofoya of Albuquerque; two brothers, Edward Martinez of Clovis and Frank Martinez of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Cecilia Gibson and Connie Griego, both of Albuquerque; 27 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Clark Funeral Service with Dan Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery. Mrs. Love was born Oct. 17, 1914, in Darwin to Seborn Andrew and Nora May Nance Love. She graduated from high school and was a homemaker all her life. Survivors include her children, George "Buddy" Love of Satanta, Kan., Frank J. Love of Gove, Kan., Maxine Elston of Forgan and Peggy Boyd of Dumas, Texas; two sisters, Clara Drake of Carson City, N.M., and Lois Underwood of Nebraska; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
