Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Fairview Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Edwin Cooley, pastor, and Nancy Ruff officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Ruff and her husband were co-owners and operators of Shelby J. Ruff Furniture Store from 1954 to 1979. She was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors include a daughter, Anne Zochowski of Brandon, Miss.; a son, Mike Ruff of Pampa; a brother, Floyd Austin of Pampa; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Private family burial will be at 11:30 a.m. today in Gruver Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Mr. Bergin was born July 23, 1929, in Texhoma, Okla. He graduated from Gruver High School in 1946 and Texas A&M in 1950. He married Charlotte Stephens of Shamrock on July 17, 1951. He farmed and ranched in Hansford County on land that had been in his family for more than 100 years. He was employed by DeKalb AgRESEARCH from 1968 until 1986. He was a member of Gruver United Methodist Church, Hansford County Farm Bureau board, Palo Duro River Authority, Gruver Lions Club, the ag development council of Texas A&M and High Plains A&M Club. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sherry Schmitz of Borger and Frankie Sims of Lubbock; a son, David Bergin of Perryton; and six grandchildren. Hilda Cavazos and Yolando Tarango officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mrs. Gonzales was born Sept. 29, 1913, the daughter of Apolonio and Eaustacia Mendoza. She married Felipe Gonzales on Nov. 17, 1934, in New Braunfels. Mrs. Gonzales was a homemaker and a member of San Pablo Methodist Church of Hereford. Survivors include her husband; a son, Jimmy Gonzales of Amarillo; two daughters, Gloria Coronado and Lupe Gouge, both of Hereford; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Huff was born July 17, 1907, in Collin County. She was an Amarillo resident for the past two years, and formerly a lifetime resident of Dumas. She was the Moore County clerk from 1952-1970. She was engaged in farming. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Dumas. She was in the first graduating class in Dumas in 1926. She attended Clarendon Junior College. She was a 72-year member of Eastern Star Chapter No. 653 of Dumas. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wesley W. Ponder in 1946; and her second husband, J.W. Huff in 1976. Survivors include two sons, Don Ponder and wife, Sharel, of Dumas and David Ponder and wife, Janace, of Amarillo; a sister, Ruth Burnett of Dumas; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was owner/operator of Jack Oldham Oil. He married Sandy Bynum on Dec. 7, 1957, in Hereford. He was a Dumas resident since 1968, moving from Sunray. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dumas. His leisure time was dedicated to his grandchildren and family. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Bynum; and a brother, Troy Bynum. Mrs. Regnier married Laurance Regnier on March 30, 1938. She taught school in Dalhart, Texas, Boise City and Kenton. She was preceded in death by her husband; and a grandson, Laurance Earl Daniel. Mr. Harder operated Jack's Construction for several years, retiring in 1992. He then helped operate Four Corners Truck Stop.
