Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Methodist Church of Happy with the Rev. Paul Burwash, pastor of First Baptist Church of Happy, officiating. Burial will be in Happy Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mrs. Allison was born July 20, 1922, in Bronte to Ira and Sibyl Prewitt. They made their home in Bronte for six years and then moved to Happy. She attended Happy schools and graduated from Happy High School in 1940. Upon graduation she attended Texas Technological College in Lubbock and then attended Draughon's Business College. She married D.L. Allison in Ralls on June 25, 1942. They resided in San Diego, Calif., where they worked at Consolidated Aircraft Co. They returned to Happy and began farming. She continued to live in Happy until March 2002. Mrs. Allison's life interests included researching family genealogy and volunteerism. She was very active in First Baptist Church in Happy, was the Happy Ex-Student Association Secretary, held offices in PTA, the Swisher County Historical Society and Randall County Home Demonstration Club. She was honored as one of the "Seven Who Care" in the Texas Panhandle, 1986. Mrs. Allison had been at Bivins Memorial Home since April 19, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband, D.L. Allison, in 1991; and her parents. Survivors include a son, Jim Allison and wife, Rinda, of Amarillo; a daughter, Linda Schrib and husband, Jimmy, of Canyon; a sister, Ernestine and Vilo Danner of Happy; four grandchildren, Wes and Jennifer Allison of Hewitt, Wendy Allison of Arlington, Lanny and Missy Schrib and Laura and Dustin Turner, all of Houston; a great-grandchild, Bailey Allison; and 23 nephews and nieces. Mrs. Maestas lived most of her life in Amarillo. For the last four years she had resided in Tulia. She married Nazario "Lalo" Maestas on March 23, 1940, in Tucumcari, N.M. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 11, 1990. Osage St., with Rhea Raines, of South Georgia Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. McMinn was born in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1951. He attended Panhandle State University at Goodwell, Okla. He worked for ASARCO and IBP before going to work for Bargain Warehouse where he was the manager. He was a charter member of the Tascosa Lions Club and was a member of the West Amarillo Christian Church. He married Shirley Browning in 1964 in Amarillo. "Jack" McCoy, 82, of Amarillo died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. McCoy died Friday of lung disease. He was born in Sherman. He was a retired Navy pilot and a commercial pilot. His career with the Navy was from 1937 to 1958. After his retirement he taught at the University of Texas and at Texas A&M and was instrumental in setting up TSTI in Amarillo. He earned a master's degree from Texas A&M. He was serving as an "apprentice fisherman" in Howardwick (Greenbelt Lake). He had just received his 50-year pin from the Masons of Texas. He was a Shriner and a survivor of the USS Indianapolis. Survivors include his wife, Lucille; sons, Joe of Weatherford, Steve of Oklahoma City and Mark of Amarillo; daughters, Mary Lois Rogers of Weatherford and Brenda McCoy of Amarillo; a brother, Bill McCoy of Bastrop, La.; a sister, Jean Shipley of Midlothian; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Ralston was born March 11, 1919, in Perryton and had lived in Amarillo since 1942. He married Lula Ellison on Feb. 5, 1939, in Hereford. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. "Fats" Ralston worked as a dispatcher for Groendyke Transport and was a member of the Palo Duro Masonic Lodge No. 1239, the Lubbock Scottish Rite and a member of Khiva Temple and the Patrol. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Reid died Wednesday in Ware Memorial Care Center where she was a beloved resident the past seven years. She was born Jan. 3, 1911, to Robert C. and Pansy White in McCaulley. She was raised in Bonham where she married her high school sweetheart Charles Augustus Reid on Nov. 30, 1931. The couple moved to Amarillo in August 1945 when Charles took a position with Panhandle Fruit Co., later Ben E. Keith Foods. In these early family years Helen and Charlie enjoyed playing cards with friends, dancing, bowling, golf and coaching little league softball teams for their two young sons. In January 1951 the couple joined other families as charter members establishing Westminster Presbyterian Church where Helen helped organize Presbyterian Women and served many hours helping to raise funds for the young church and interviewing prospective new members. Both she and Charles later served terms as Deacons and Elders. She particularly enjoyed women's Bible study and welcoming young families with children to put down their roots in the church family. A good homemaker, cook and gardener, she always found time to keep flowers blooming in her garden. She shared equally the responsibilities of family life with her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in December 1982; a brother, Edward White, a University of Texas national championship golfer, on Sept. 18, 1999, in Kingsland. Survivors include two sons, Bill S. Reid, of Houston and Don R. Reid of Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Morris Memorial United Methodist Church in Chico with the Rev. Charles Cox officiating. Burial will be in Chico Cemetery by Hawkins Funeral Home of Bridgeport. Mr. Patterson was a retired co-owner and operator of Pat's Trucking in Bridgeport. He was born May 5, 1928, in Hedley and was raised in the Clarendon area until moving to Wise County in 1979. He married Patsy Jo Pointer on July 8, 1970, in Amarillo. He was formerly a stationary fireman for Santa Fe Railway and was a member of the Pleasant Valley Methodist Church in Amarillo. Pallbearers include Walter Amonett, Roger Davidson, Billy Schull, Richard Elam, L.A. West and Ray Camron. Mrs. Marshall spent most of her life in Texas and was employed by Amarillo College for several years. After the death of her first husband, she later married Calvin Marshall who passed away in 1994. He served in the Army Air Corps. in World War II and later worked for Hill (ICX) Truck Lines in Amarillo for 33 years until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Teamsters Local 577, and the DAV. We will all miss this dear, loving man who truly was one of the world's kindest souls.
