Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Hansford Cemetery with Brent Thornton officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Hamilton was a 1989 graduate of Spearman High School. He was a partner in Hamilton Trucking in Spearman. He started Steve Hamilton Trucking in March 2002. Survivors include his father, Red Hamilton of Spearman; a brother, Van Hamilton of Spearman; a sister, Becky Stark and husband, Lance, of Amarillo; a niece, Heather Hamilton of Lubbock; and two nephews, Sam Stark of Amarillo and Tyler Hamilton of Lubbock. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 13, 2003 Betty Jo Cline DUMAS - Betty "Jo" Cline, 76, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Cline was born in Santa Fe, N.M., on Oct. 18, 1926. She was a Dumas resident since 1960 and former owner-operator of Gene Cline's Motor Parts Inc. in Dumas and Amarillo. She married Gene Cline on July 6, 1960, in Santa Fe. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 15, 1998; her mother, Lela White, in 1980; and a sister, Mary Joy McAboy, in 1987. Survivors include two sons, Tom Cline and wife, Pat, of Borger and Bill Cline and wife, Sue, of Dumas; a stepson, Miles Cline and wife, Kay, of Dumas; two sisters, Alma Haller of Sarasota, Fla., and Helen White of Dumas; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 14 nieces and nephews; and a dear lifelong friend, Margaret Brunk of Santa Fe. Jimmy Gillmore and the Rev. Kenton Crews officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors. Mr. Downs was a retired electrician for Phillips Petroleum Co. He served in the Army during World War II. Her parents were George and Lottie Berkstresser Leatherman. She was an avid duplicate bridge player. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Perryton. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Grace Guyger, Irene Brodie and Ada Witt; and a brother, Ross Leatherman. Survivors include her husband, H. Jake; three nieces, Phyllis Price of Balko, Okla., Gaynell Hulsey of Perryton and Barbara Kaye Oberle of Corinth; four nephews, Tom LeMaster of Albuquerque, N.M., Ed LeMaster of Edinburg, Clifford Guyger of Grand Junction, Colo., and Dan Witt of Seneca, N.M.; several great-nieces and nephews; several great-great-nieces and nephews; a great-great-great-niece; and a great-great-great-nephew. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 13, 2003 Audie Mae Cagle Mitchell TULIA - Audie Mae Cagle Mitchell, 93, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Davenport, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery of Tulia by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mrs. Mitchell was born July 3, 1909, to A.D. and Maude Mae Clark Mills in McKinney. At age 7, her mother died leaving her and her dad to care for her three younger sisters. She attended school in Plainview. She married James Marlin Cagle on Sept. 4, 1925. They had two children, James Richard and Lynda Mae. Marlin died Oct. 11, 1972, and Richard died Nov. 6, 1997. She was devoted to her husband and loved her children and grandchildren greatly. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tulia for 70 years and had lived in Canadian for the last two years. Survivors include a daughter, Lynda Cloyd and husband, Jim, of Canadian; five grandchildren, Richard and Melissa Cloyd, Susan and Rick Day, Jay and Jonna Cloyd, Rick and Leslie Cagle and Kent and Vicki Cagle; and seven great-grandchildren, Steven Cagle, Nikki Cagle, Grayson Cloyd, Makenzie Cloyd, Jed Day, Jake Day and James Cason Cagle. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Tom Harlan officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Pankey married P.E. Pankey in Vilonia, Ark., in 1934. He died in 1982. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include a daughter, Anita Blood of Stillwater, Okla.; three sons, Charlie Pankey of Amarillo, James Pankey of Santo and Jerry Pankey of Lorena; a sister, Vera Harlan of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He married Elverta Alexander on Jan. 4, 1934. She preceded him in death on Oct. 4, 1996. He worked for Phillips Petroleum for more than 40 years as a welder before retiring in 1972. He moved to Amarillo in 1992 from Borger. He was an elder at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Borger. Survivors include two daughters, Nelie Williams and husband, Douglas S., of Amarillo and Pauline Davis and husband, Norman, of Cove, Ore.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 13, 2003 Nora McMillin Nora McMillin, 60, of Amarillo died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. McMillin was born March 30, 1942, in Flagstaff, Ariz. Although not a native to Texas, the Texas Panhandle was her home most of her life. She worked at United Supermarket and those who knew her loved her. She had a servant's heart, full of love and compassion for others. She was truly a blessing to those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Dan W. McMillin, on April 14, 1993. Survivors include four daughters, Donna Newton of Lubbock, Sandra Roberts and Diann Anderson, both of Amarillo, and Glenda Bell of Wimberley; her mother, Elizabeth Sartor of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 13, 2003 Charles E. Scott Charles E. Scott, 67, of Amarillo died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003. Memorial services will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Scott died at the Veterans Administration Medical Center Nursing Home where he had been a resident since 2000. He was born in Amarillo on Sept. 30, 1935, to Clifford C. and Essie Lee Scott. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1953 and served in the Navy from 1954 to 1965. On July 5, 1957, he and Lori Stark were married in Portland. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the Disabled American Veterans. The family gives a special "Thank You" to Mr. Warren Wilson who had become a special, caring friend while Mr. Scott was in the nursing home. Survivors include two sons, Charles E. Scott Jr. and wife, Jill, of Russell's Point, Ohio, and Jon Eric Scott and wife, Michelle, of Westerville, Ohio; his former wife and mother of his sons, Lori Stark Scott of Portland; a sister, Reba Wooten and husband, Gene, of Amarillo; and five grandchildren, Danica Scott, Kyle Scott, Slone Scott, Brendon Scott and Seth Scott. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
