Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church of Stratford with the Rev. Mark Metzger, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. McWilliams was born Jan. 17, 1931, in Stratford. He was a lifetime Stratford resident. He was a cowboy. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Stratford. He married Nan Monarch on Feb. 10, 1967, in Dalhart. He owned and operated McWilliams Branding and Dipping Service for 24 years. After retiring, he worked for Stratford Feedyard for eight years. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War as a radar technician. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Lanny Ward in 1999; two brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Greg Ward of Shelton, Wash.; a stepdaughter, Genee Olson of Scio, Ore.; two sisters, Billie Merle Booth of Avon Park, Fla., and Dale Jackson of Oklahoma City; 10 stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 14, 2003 Francis Thompson TULIA - Francis Thompson, 87, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Central Church of Christ with Trey Morgan, minister of Childress Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Johnson Memorial Cemetery in Munday with Adrin Fletcher, minister of Munday Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home. Mrs. Thompson was born Feb. 26, 1915, in Munday. She grew up in Munday and graduated from Munday High School. She went to Amarillo College for two years. She married Hershel "Red" Thompson on Dec. 7, 1935, in Munday. She moved to Swisher County in 1954. She worked as a grocery checker for Bob's Supermarket for 18 years. She worked as a cashier and in the office at Joe Bob's Supermarket from 1982 until 1995, where she retired at the age of 81. She was a member of Central Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Women's division of the Chamber of Commerce, RSVP and senior citizens. She also took part in the Home Demonstration Club in Munday and Tulia. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 9, 1991. Survivors include a son, Joe Bob Thompson and wife, Sharon, of Tulia; two grandchildren, Jacob Thompson and wife, Angela, of Farwell and Jennifer Smith and husband, Jeff, of Merkel; and a great-grandson, Derek Smith of Merkel. Mr. Higginbottom was born Feb. 3, 1915, in De Leon. He served in the Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Brownlow was born June 4, 1944, in Tahoka, to Clarence Odell and Dorothy Mae Dunlap Brownlow. He had been a Lubbock resident since 1949. He graduated from Monterey High School in 1962, and served in the Navy from 1966 until 1970. He married Juanell Harris on Aug. 14, 1971, in Lubbock. He was employed at Luskey's/Ryon's for 32 years. He was a member of Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, on Oct. 13, 1999. Survivors include two sons, Charles William Brownlow and wife, Karen, and Robert Timothy Brownlow, all of Lubbock; three brothers, Ronald Brownlow of Lubbock, Jerry Brownlow of Arlington and Mike Brownlow of San Marcos; two sisters, Rhonda Keller of Brookshire and Vicki Redding of New Braunfels; his stepfather, Robert Benjamin Garner of Lubbock; two stepsisters, Brenda Hardman and Joy Lewis, both of Lubbock. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Jesse Acuff officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Duty was born and raised in Benton, Ill. She married Gordon Duty in 1957 in Benton. She moved to Amarillo in 1970 with her family. Mrs. Duty owned and operated Judy's Day Care from 1986 until 2000. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Jo Duty in 1961. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 14, 2003 William Clifford DeBord William Clifford DeBord, 90, of Amarillo died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with Dr. David Evans of Trinity Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. DeBord was born Aug. 8, 1912, in Hedley and has been a Texas Panhandle resident all of his life. He was a Baptist. He married Mildred Miller on Sept. 5, 1971. He was loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. As a young man he loved and played baseball. He was involved in farming prior to owning his own businesses in Sunray and Canyon. He retired in the late 1970s. He was an active member of Amarillo Senior Citizens Association, managing the Sunday Band, and the 45 Uppers Club, serving on the board of directors. He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. William and Mattie DeBord; two brothers, Clarence and Burk DeBord; and two sisters, Helen DeBord and Neva Jester. Survivors include his wife; a brother, Lawrence DeBord of Stratford; a sister, Edna Dishman of Dallas; two sons, Ray DeBord and wife, Diana, of Bedford, and Neal DeBord and wife, Tona, of Amarillo; a daughter, Deana Milliron of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 14, 2003 Luke Wilson Luke Wilson, 67, of Amarillo died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Alvin D. Law officiating. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Mr. Wilson was born in Plainview and attended school in Petersburg. During the mid-1950s through the late 1960s, Luke served both active duty and as a reservist in the Navy. He was trained in basic and field medicine. In the 1960s, Mr. Wilson worked as a clerk for the Postal Service. In the 1970s, Luke was co-owner and manager of Thompson's Flowers in Amarillo. In the 1980s through the 1990s, Luke co-owned The Emporium Antiques and Estate Sales. Since June 2000, Mr. Wilson was employed as assistant manager of Apcoa at Amarillo Air Terminal. Luke loved the performing arts. For many years he was a member of Amarillo Little Theater as well as the Civic Center's Broadway Series. He served on the ALTA committee for the Amarillo Little Theater. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ella Faye Robertson and Louise Widener, both in 2000. Survivors include his partner in life, Dennis Thompson of Amarillo; two sons, Jerry Thompson and Randy Wilson and wife, Gaye, all of Amarillo; a daughter, Renee Rhynehart and husband, Chris, of Amarillo; three sisters, Helen Rogers and husband, Allen, of Pleasant Hill, N.M., Daisy Law and husband, Alvin, and Jeanie Mayo, all of Plainview; two brothers, Elton Wilson of Plainview and James Wilson and wife, Willa, of Truth or Consequences, N.M.; and four grandchildren, Matt Lagrone, Alex Wilson, Tyler Rhynehart and Abby Rhynehart, all of Amarillo.
