Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Full Gospel Church with the Rev. Michael Waterbury officiating. Burial will be in Bluemound Cemetery in Balko, Okla., by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Hickey was a mechanic. He was a member of Full Gospel Church of Perryton. Survivors include his parents, Darrell and Jan Hickey of Perryton; two sons, Bradley Austin Hickey and Dustin Scott Hickey, both of Perryton; and a sister Kim Jines and husband, Perry, of Perryton. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 18, 2003 Ruth "Boba" Rue DALHART - Ruth "Boba" Rue, 71, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, in Amarillo. Services were at 11 a.m. Friday in Dalhart Church of Christ with Dean Whaley, minister, officiating along with comments by family and friends. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home. Mrs. Rue was born Dec. 5, 1931, in Dalhart to Elmer and Berniece Potter Burnett. Survivors include her mother of Dalhart; three sons, Randy Rue of Oklahoma City, Richard Rue of Mansfield and Robert Rue of Houston; a daughter, Kim Grantham of Fort Worth; a sister, Jimmie Sue Chisum of Amarillo; a brother, Michael Burnett of Honolulu; a niece, Shirlyne Grantham of Knox City; a nephew, Russ Chisum of Knox City; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 18, 2003 Floyd Elmer Tate SHAMROCK - Floyd Elmer Tate, 82, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Dozier Cemetery in Dozier with James Martindale officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Tate was born June 1, 1920, in Twitty, to Alvin Eugene "Al" Tate and Kate Edith Markham Tate. He moved to the Abra community in 1928 and joined Abra Baptist Church early in life. Floyd married Zola Marie Francies on July 21, 1945, in Sayre, Okla. He was self-employed in farming, ranching and carpentry, retiring in 1987. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dean Tate and wife, Marilyn, of Bluff City, Tenn., and Danny Tate and wife, Dottie, of Riesel; a sister, Ola Mae Huntley of Shamrock; a brother, G.C. "Bill" Tate of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Lynn Tate Earnest of Portland, Maine, Timothy Tate and wife, Laura, of Bristol, Tenn., and Thad Tate and wife, Stephanie, and Tammy Tate Bush and husband, Kary, all of Riesel; six great-grandchildren, Matthew Tate, Mason Tate, Kayla Bush and Emily Bush, all of Riesel, and Matilda Tate and Eli Tate, both of Bristol; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 18, 2003 Amarillo Winfred Leldon Chunn Winfred Leldon Chunn, 75, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. Roy Wheeler of Amarillo officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mr. Chunn was born Oct. 22, 1927, in Clarendon. He had lived in Plainview and Lubbock before moving to Amarillo in 1957. He was a 1945 graduate of Plainview High School and received his BBA from Texas Tech in 1949. He married Ira Jean Estlack on Sept. 22, 1972, in Tucumcari, N.M. He was the office manager for Beneficial Finance for much of his life before retiring in 1987. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict, an honorary member of Panhandle Boat and Ski Club and a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cynthia Dowdy of Amarillo; two sons, Mark W. Chunn of Batesville, Ark., and Bruce Chunn of Glade Park, Colo.; four stepsons, Pat Chilton of Oklahoma City, Mike Chilton of Purcell, Okla., Steve Chilton of Pampa and Lynn Chilton of Lubbock; a sister, Marian Weiss of Amarillo; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Robert Weiss of Hedley. Mathews, 91, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Lynn Garrett officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Mathews, a former Dalhart resident and longtime Amarillo resident, was born Oct. 14, 1911, in Everton, Ark. Her family moved from Everton to Dalhart in the late 1920s where they made their home until 1953 when they relocated to Amarillo. Mrs. Mathews was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a leader in the nursery department for more than 35 years. She was an accomplished pianist and loved writing music and songs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nancy Belle and W.T. Cantrell of Dalhart; five brothers; three sisters; her husband, William W. "Bill" Mathews; and two sons, Walter Mathews of Grass Valley, Calif., and Bill Mathews Jr. of Clinton, Okla., both in 2002. Survivors include two sons, Harry of San Antonio and Phillip of Austin; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 18, 2003 Rosella Middaugh Rosella Middaugh, 76, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003. Rosary was at 7 p.m. Friday in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church Chapel. Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the church with Monsignor Joseph Tash officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Middaugh was born in Mount Vernon, Ill. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy in Amarillo. She married Cecil Middaugh in Amarillo in 1945. She was a charter member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Mrs. Middaugh was the past regent of Catholic Daughters, past chairman of St. Rita's Circle, a member of St. Joseph's Rosary Group and a member as well as past treasurer for General Altar Society. She was past president and Woman of the Year for American Business Women's Association, Tascosa Chapter and past president of Doll Friends of Amarillo. She worked for Everett's Plumbing for 26 years until her retirement in 1986. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989. Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Middaugh Davis, Rhonda Heath and husband, Michael, and Celia "Cec" Otts and husband, Waymon, all of Amarillo; a sister, Adele Krisle of Corpus Christi; four grandchildren, Kristofer Keith "K.K." Davis of New York, Jeremy Heath and wife, Jennifer, of Amarillo, Gretchin Heath, and Tracy Kelly and husband, Todd, all of California; and two great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Kenton Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, N.M. Mrs. Saye was born in Jericho, Texas, on March 21, 1929. She had lived in Las Vegas for the past 39 years. Survivors include her husband, Leonard R.; two daughters, Patricia Barcus and Janelle Delgado, both of Las Vegas; a son, Troy Saye of Las Vegas; a sister, Kay Rossen of Texline, Texas; two brothers, Carrol Schaffer and Billy Schaffer, both of Broadus, Mont.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Zelma Cemetery in Gate by Clark Funeral Service of Beaver. Mrs. Melcher was born Aug. 30, 1913, in Beaver County. She married George C. Melcher on June 5, 1971, in Ulysses. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Jerry Paasch of Springdale, Ark., David Paasch of Garden City, Kan., Martin Paasch of Los Angeles and Michael Paasch of Goddard, Kan.; a stepson, Charles Melcher of Lexington, Ky.; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a step great-grandchild; and a sister, Gertrude Spicer of Waterloo, Iowa.
