Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Robert Hensley, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Hawkins was born June 9, 1911, in Enders Lake, Brown County, Neb., to George Washington and Virginia Hila Chappell. She married Urban Camp Hawkins on June 19, 1930, in Kentucky. She was employed from 1942 to 1976 with Phillips Petroleum and retired after 34 years of service as a stenographer. She was a member of St. Andrews Methodist Church in Borger. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1955; and two sons, Urban "Bob" Camp Hawkins Jr., in 1966, and Norman Hawkins in 2000. Survivors include a daughter, Hila Naughnane of Borger; four grandchildren, Sharon Cosper of Borger, Rhonda Bishop of Moss Point, Miss., Markus Hawkins of San Francisco and Victor Hawkins of McKinney; and 12 great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. Chaney was a breakfast hostess at a Comfort Inn Hotel. She was a member of Childress Anglers Club. Survivors include her husband, Hershel; three daughters, Tammy Chaney of Huntington Beach, Calif., Rhonda Klapper of Childress and Donna Rodriguez of Fountain Valley, Calif.; a brother, Arlis McBee of Dumas; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Glynnis Kim McAda Hernandez; a sister, Leota Foster of Lockney; and a granddaughter. "Dub" Bruington, 73, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Petersburg with the Rev. Tom Griffin and the Rev. Jim Hancock officiating. Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery by White Funeral Home. Mr. Bruington was born March 3, 1929, in Petersburg to the late Earl McLaughin Bruington and Younie Mae Milam Bruington. He graduated high school in Petersburg and attended Barber College in Lubbock. He was a lifelong resident of Petersburg. He married Joyce Cribbs on Aug. 7, 1950, in Clovis, N.M. He was a barber for 20 years at City Barber Shop. He was a salesman for American National Insurance, worked for Custom Farm Services and Terra Chemical. He was a volunteer for the Petersburg Fire Department. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 712 in Floydada. He was in the Naval Reserve from 1949 to 1952. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Petersburg. Survivors include three sons, Landria Wynn Bruington of Farmington, N.M., Bart McLaughin Bruington of Bloomfield, N.M., and Chad Robert Bruington of Canyon; a daughter, Sandra Lynn Spencer of Plainview; a brother, Billie Earl Bruington of Petersburg; two sisters, Emaline Spain of Plainview and Geneva Kersh of Plainview; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the church. Mr. Winters was married to Catherine Luttrell Winters for 49 years. He was a lifetime farmer southeast of Amarillo. Osage St. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Ms. Allen was born in Carnegie, Okla. She moved to Amarillo from Carnegie in 1958. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone and Texas Tech School of Allied Health. She retired from the VA Medical Center in Amarillo in 2001. Mr. Pfeiffer married Wanda Jay in Amarillo in 1947. He retired from Santa Fe Railway as a locomotive engineer after 42 years in 1991. He was a loving husband and daddy. His kind, gentle nature brought much joy to the lives of his family. He was preceded in death by a special granddaughter, Melani Pfeiffer, in 1980. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sharon Grant and Kim Beezley, both of Amarillo; a son, Gary Pfeiffer of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 20, 2003 David L. Harris David L. Harris, 84, of Amarillo died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Mausoleum Chapel with Alan Williamson, Chaplain of Ware Memorial, officiating. Entombment will be in Llano Mausoleum with military honors by DAV No. 26. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Harris was born Oct. 14, 1918, at 1405 Jefferson St. in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1937. He married Frances on Oct. 23, 1938. He was a veteran of World War II serving on a Coast Guard Cutter in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He was the only survivor of his ship which was blown up in New York Harbor. He operated Harris Clock Service in the 1950s and 1960s. He then went to work for the U.S. Postal Service as an electronics technician until his retirement in 1985. He will be remembered as a loving father and husband. Survivors include his wife; a son, Don Harris and wife, Kay, of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. Private family entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, East Mausoleum. Mrs. Stringfellow was born Feb. 5, 1934, in Mount Clemens, Mich., to Bernard T. and Alice R. Reid. She married R.J. "Bob" Stringfellow on June 3, 1950, in Mount Clemens. She was a homemaker, loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 8, 2002. Survivors include two daughters, Janet Gayle James and Lynda Kaye Adee, both of Amarillo; two sons, Robert Jewel "Bob" Stringfellow and Richard Lee Stringfellow, both of Houston; a brother, Bernard Reid of Smyrna, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Georgia St. Mrs. Clark was born May 20, 1896, in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was a longtime resident at Bivins Nursing Home. She loved chocolate and was the oldest resident at the nursing home for many years. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Adalene Henry, a P.E. teacher at Wolflin Elementary, in 1993; and a son, Robert Clark, killed in Germany on July 31, 1944.
