Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Chism and Jerry Chism, her grandsons, officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park by Smith Funeral Home. Mrs. Forrest was born Oct. 17, 1905, in Deport. She married John Eskle "Eck" Forrest on March 1, 1923, in Quanah. Survivors include a daughter, Dorris Chism of Amarillo; a brother, Robert "Bob" Reed Jr. of Roswell, N.M.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 5, 2003 Waylon M. Green STRATFORD - Waylon M. Green, 78, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, in Boise City, Okla. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Stratford Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Sweeten, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Green was born June 15, 1924, in Stratford. He was a lifelong Stratford resident. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Stratford. He was a farmer. Waylon attended a country school in Stevens until it was time to enter high school at Stratford High School, where both he and his sister attended. He worked as a licensed plumber and electrician for many years in Stratford and Dumas. He also was very good at repairing televisions and many people depended on him for his help. He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar, banjo, trombone and many other instruments. He also loved dancing, especially with his sister. He loved to fish and work with his cattle. Most of all, he loved his family. Survivors include a sister, Mary Lee Montgomery of Boise City; a niece, Kelly Henley of Edmond, Okla.; two nephews, Wayne Montgomery and Steven Montgomery, both of Boise City; and numerous cousins and friends. Mrs. High was born June 12, 1945, in Gonzales, the daughter of Elijah and Leola Steemer. She married Clarence High on Dec. 21, 1962, in Hereford. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Mrs. Hahn was born March 6, 1926, in Ralls, Texas. She was a resident of Portales nearly her whole life. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Directors. Mrs. Campbell was born Feb. 27, 1911, in Carbon, Texas, to Hillary H. Guy and Virgie Lee Broughton Guy. She married Allen Vernon Campbell on Dec. 27, 1931, in Carbon. They farmed in the Hale County and Floyd County areas of Texas until 1956, when they moved to Parmer County, Texas. In 1968, they moved to Union County. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Clayton. She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 10, 1989; her parents; a brother, Travis Guy in 1934; and a daughter, Carolyn Rochelle Owen on Dec. 2, 1990. Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 5, 2003 Amarillo William "Bill" Curry Arrington William "Bill" Curry Arrington, 90, of Amarillo died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Dr. Larry Heard, director of missions, Top of Texas Baptist Area of Pampa, officiating. Mr. Arrington was born in Eva, Morgan County, Ala., on July 29, 1912, to Charlie Henderson Arrington and Julia Ussery. He graduated from Eva High School in 1932. He then moved to Roswell, N.M., in 1934, where he met and married Ava Lorena Nellis on Feb. 17, 1935. Mr. Arrington was a carpenter in Roswell for six years. He also worked as a Singer Sewing Machine salesman in Monahans for six years. He also worked for Sears Roebuck Co. in Lubbock for eight years and then owned and operated two Conoco gas stations in Lubbock for three years. Mr. Arrington owned and worked for TIB Booking Services of Dallas for 14 years before his retirement in 1977. He and his wife then moved to Amarillo in 1994 to be closer to their children. Mr. Arrington was a 32nd Degree Mason, and served as a church deacon most of his lifetime and was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Billy Arrington; and a daughter-in-law, Louise. Survivors include a son, Jerry Don Arrington and wife, Jo, of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Patricia June Stidger and husband, Phillip, of Amarillo; a brother, Talmage Arrington of Ruidoso; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Paramore was born Sept. 23, 1910, in Martin Mills, Van Zandt County. Her first husband, Ike Johnson, whom she married in 1943, preceded her in death in 1967. In 1973, she married Dr. Charles Paramore of Shawnee, Okla. He also preceded her in death in 1980. While living in Oklahoma, she was a residence director at Oklahoma Baptist University. She had been a longtime resident of Amarillo and was active in the community, serving as a member of Amarillo Business Women's Club, Desk and Derrick, Northwest Texas Hospital Auxiliary, a member of First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, and participated in many mission trips with her church. Survivors include three nieces, Marcia Crouch and family of Dallas, Peggy Killingsworth and family of Mesquite and Judy Taylor and family of Louisville; her stepchildren, Bob and Mary Ellen Paramore and family of Dallas, and Alice Sharp and family of Denver; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Shaw was born May 14, 1934, in Portales, N.M., to Jesse and Frances Paul Shaw. He graduated from Hereford High School and received his master's in education from West Texas State University. He worked for Bureau of Indian Affairs for 20 years. He also taught school in Amarillo and Tulia for approximately 20 years. He married Maryln Christian in Canyon in 1960. He was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church of Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1984. Mr. York married Mary in 1943, in Grandfield, Okla., and had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Jan. 13. He had been a resident of Amarillo since 1956. Mr. York was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy. He worked for Bureau of Mines, Amarillo Helium Plant, retiring with 29 years of service. He was preceded in death by a son, James Anthony York in December 2002. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roger York and wife, Joann, of Glendale, Ariz., and Billy Don York and wife, Delila, of Amarillo; a brother, Douglas York of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In 1935, she married Samuel Wright who spent many years with the tax department of Santa Fe Railway. He died in 1975 and in 1983, Helen married Richard Corbyn at the old Post Chapel in Fort Sill, Okla. Mrs. Corbyn was an active member of Toastmistress Clubs in Galveston and Amarillo for 40 years and held offices at club, council and regional levels. Survivors include her husband; and two stepsons, Ronald Corbyn and Eric Corbyn. Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 5, 2003 Benny L. Jameson Benny L. Jameson, 56, of Amarillo died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003. Osage St. Mr. Jameson was born in Lebanon, Mo. He moved to Amarillo with the Air force in 1965, before serving a tour in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. He was then stationed at McConnell AFB in Wichita, Kan. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1968. He worked as an electrician and did remodeling for five years. He worked in sales for 15 years. He was most recently self-employed as a tax accountant and financial planner. He married Rita Tredway in 1966 in Amarillo. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Jameson in November 2002. Spencer was born July 22, 1911, in Lucas County, Iowa, to Esthel C. and Goldie Mackay Spencer. John was an ordained Assembly of God Minister. He was a pastor for numerous churches in Amarillo, Texas, and was a past member of the board for the Blanca/Fort Garland Community Center. John was a boxer for seven years, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and the mountains. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Robert, Myron, Clarence, Arnold and Elloyd; a sister, Virginia; and a grandchild, Jeremy Krebs.
