Tevis, 85, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Christian Church with Dr. Jeff Knighton officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Tevis was the dietitian for Ochiltree General Hospital from 1966 to 1980. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Perryton. Following high school, she received her bachelor of science degree in home economics from Maryville College in Maryville, Tenn. She completed her internship at Presbyterian Hospital and completed her post graduate course from Texas Tech University. She worked as a nutritionist for the State Board of Control in Austin, and was the dietitian of Ochiltree General Hospital when it first opened. She also served as a consultant for the Canadian Hospital. She was a former member of American Dietetic Association and served as president of Perryton Sorosis Club for two terms. She was honored as Mother of the Year by Federation of Women's Club District. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace C. and Amelia McCalmont; and her husband, Byron Tevis, in 2002. Survivors include two sons, Denzel Tevis and Trev Tevis, both of Perryton; and two grandsons, Trale Tevis and Ivan Tevis, both of Perryton. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1990. Mrs. Goettsche kept very busy with her involvement in the church and community. Most of her time and talent was spent being a wife and mother. Her life was devoted to her family. She was a very devoted mother and care giver. During World War II she was a singer with the Tommy Dorsey Band. She helped with the war effort during World War II by working in an aircraft factory as a riveter. O'Quin, 75, of Amarillo died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003. He married his childhood sweetheart, Patricia Ann Slaughter, on June 8, 1947, in Clayton, N.M. During the Korean War he was a corporal with the Anti-Tank Company of the 32nd Infantry Army. He retired after 30 years with Santa Fe Railway. He was much appreciated for his artistic abilities and his talent with fine ceramics. He was a loving father of four children, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat, on July 30, 2001. Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Ables of Dallas, Brenda Boyd of Portland, Ore., and Molly Avila of Amarillo; a son, Tommy O'Quin of Amarillo; two brothers, Norman O'Quin of Amarillo and Devoe O'Quin of Arkansas; a sister, Wanda Welch of Borger; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
