Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Higgins Cemetery with Shawn Davis, minister of Panhandle Church of Christ, and Gordan Lawson, minister of Higgins Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mrs. Satterwhite was born April 25, 1905, to Lon and Anna Gamble on the family farm in Rogers Mills County near Grimes, Okla. She was the oldest of seven children. She helped her parents on the family farm and went to school through the ninth grade. She worked in a general store in Sayre, Okla., where she met Carl Satterwhite. They were married Dec. 23, 1929, in Sayre and moved with the railroad for two years before moving to the family farm in the Bishop Community, Okla. She worked at the Weis Dry Good Store in Higgins for 25 years. She was an active member of the Church of Christ in Higgins and a member of the Busy Bee quilting club for many years. She lived in Higgins from 1985 until moving to the Abraham Nursing Home in Canadian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; a son, Lon Satterwhite; and a grandson, Gary Satterwhite. Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Erma Hackett of Amarillo; three sons, James Satterwhite and wife, Wilma, of Monument, Colo., Don Satterwhite and wife, "Tex" of Higgins and Max Satterwhite and wife, Vicky, of Panhandle; three sisters, Billye Peterman of Concord, Calif., Margaret Coffer of Amherst and Anna Dean Loe of Vidor; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Abraham Memorial Home, 803 Birch, Canadian, TX 79014; Westview Boys Home, P.O. Box 553, Hollis, OK 73550; or to the High Plains Children's Home in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Rix Funeral Home Chapel with Durward "Butch" Strickland, pastor, of Conroe, and the Rev. Jim McGhee, of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park in Dimmitt. Mrs. Jones was born Dec. 22, 1920, in Lampasas to James R. and Lillie Rhodes. She married Woodrow Wilson Jones on Sept. 11, 1938, in Anson. Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Lee Jones of Carthage and Cecil Woody Jones of Fort Worth; three daughters, Betty Sue Stewart of Lakeside, Ariz., Lillie Faye Smith of Amarillo and Vera Louise Berryman of Hereford; two sisters, Margie Davis of Anson and Irene Novian of Slaton; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 10, 2003 Katherine Brand FRIONA - Katherine Brand, 67, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church of Friona with the Rev. Mark Stovall, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Blackwell Funeral Home. Mrs. Brand was born July 2, 1935, in Friona. She was a lifetime resident of Friona. She worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses in the area. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include several cousins, aunts and uncles. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice in Amarillo. Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 10, 2003 New Mexico Robert "Bobby" Moreno CLOVIS, N.M. - Robert "Bobby" Moreno, 70, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Moreno married Marie Trujillo in 1950 and raised eight children in Clovis. He retired as a civil service employee and served as Clovis City Commissioner for the past 14 years. Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Loretta Garcia and Theresa Carrasco, both of San Antonio, Liz Madrid of Portales, and Patsy Urioste and Pearl Moreno, both of Clovis; three sons, Chris Moreno of Alamogordo, and Mario Moreno and Johnny Moreno, both of Clovis; two sisters, Joann Silva and Susan Prince, both of Roswell; 37 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Davis was born in Amarillo and had lived here all of his life. He graduated from Amarillo High School, was a Shriner in the Drum and Bugle Corp. and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for 40 years. He married Nadine Christal in 1946 in Amarillo. He retired from Amarillo Gear Co., where he worked as a machinist. Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard Davis of Norman, Okla.; two daughters, Julie Winters of Amarillo and Debra Hard of Little Elm; a brother, Warren Davis of Sacramento, Calif.; two sisters, Delores Bowling of Denver and Jennie Martin of Aubrey; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Parker was born in Denver and had lived and worked in Amarillo for many years. She was a member of West Amarillo Church of Christ. Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 10, 2003 Annette Gay Baucum Annette Gay Baucum, 74, of Amarillo died Friday, Dec. 7, 2003. In lieu of a service, the family will receive friends for a viewing and visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Baucum was born in Childress and graduated from Childress High School. She moved to Amarillo in 1950 and had worked as a bookkeeper for Morehead Food Distributors and Sysco Food Services. She had worked as a door greeter at the Paramount Night Club. She married Murry Edward Gay on Aug. 16, 1950, in Lubbock. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1972. Survivors include a son, Greg Gay of Ogden, Utah; a sister, Edna Mae Hackler of Atlanta; a brother, Sidney Burleson "Buck" Partain of Galveston; and four grandchildren. The family will be at 3616 Royal Road. Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 10, 2003 Lawrence "Larry" Sirkel Lawrence "Larry" Sirkel, 82, of Amarillo died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with the Rev. F.M. Byford officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Sirkel married Betty J. Anderson in 1947 at Hereford. He worked for Hedgecoke Motor Co. as a mechanic for 32 years. He served in the Air Force and was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Dennis Sirkel of Pleasant Grove, Utah; a daughter, Deborah Darlene Brown of Amarillo; a sister, Ruby Borzilleri of Houston; a brother, Jefferson Webster Sirkel of Nampa, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176. Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 10, 2003 Gordon Benson Gordon Benson, 52, of Amarillo died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in San Jacinto Baptist Church with Dr. Stan Coffey officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Benson was born in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Perryton High School in 1968 and graduated from Wayland Baptist University. He married Brenda West in Amarillo on June 8, 1985. He worked for Southwestern Public Service in Amarillo for 21 years. In his 35 years as a minister, he served as associate pastor at San Jacinto Baptist Church. He was currently senior pastor at First Baptist Church in Halfway. He served as president of Caprock Baptist Association in Plainview and currently was serving on the board of the Living Water Emmaus Community. He was a wonderful Christian, husband, father, brother and papa. He will be dearly missed by his many Christian friends and family. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Ella Benson in 1988; his father, Botie Benson in 1989; and A.E. and Louise Coury. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Chrissye Benson of Amarillo; a son, Brandon Benson of Amarillo; two brothers, Terry Benson and wife, Jeannie, and Kirk Coury and wife, Madeline, all of Amarillo; and two grandchildren, Andrew Benson and Jae-Lyn Benson, both of Amarillo. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to a memorial fund in his name in care of American State Bank in Plainview.
