Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Hamlin Memorial Methodist Church of Farwell, Texas, with Greg Martin officiating. Burial will be in Bovina Cemetery of Bovina, Texas, by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Hubbell was born April 1, 1919, in Elk City, Okla., to Charles and Anna Reed Foster. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two sons, Kerry Hubbell of Clovis and Rickey Hubbell of Farwell; two daughters, Beverly Obershain and Debbie Dillon, both of Farwell; and two sisters, Dorothy Roach of Bovina and Mary Cole of Panhandle, Texas. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday followed by a 7:30 p.m. rosary in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the church with George Silva, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors. Mr. Blan was born in Farley on March 20, 1933. He owned and operated Blan Welding in Clayton most of his life. Survivors include a son, Joe Blan of Clayton; four daughters, Veronica Deats of Newbremen, Ohio, Dolores Lopes, Liz McMurry and Toni Ann Blan, all of Amarillo; three sisters, Mary Leal and Margaret Vigil, both of Clayton, and Vicki Raines of Albuquerque; three brothers, Benny Blan of Albuquerque, Eloy Blan of Clayton and Jimmy Blan of Waka, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Burial was in Willow Cemetery by Holden-McCauley Funeral Home. Mr. Phemister was born April 14, 1981, in Haskell to Randy and Michelle Forehand Phemister. He graduated from Haskell High School in 1999 and then served as an air traffic controller in the Air Force in Goldsboro, N.C. He currently was enrolled at the PGA Golf Academy of Arizona in Chandler, Ariz. He was an avid outdoorsman with an incredible zest for adventure. His passions were golf, fishing and camping. He married Amanda Hackney in 1998 and God blessed them with a precious son, Tristen Bailey. He was a loving husband and father. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Pallbearers included Ethan Brown, Ross Pittman, Jason Hobgood, T Nichols, Rob Hengstenberg, Shane Steele, Cody Stone, Stephen Middleton and Chad Brendel. He married Carol Janet Dane in Enochs on July 3, 1950. She was employed by Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio for 32 years. After her retirement in 1975 she moved to Amarillo in 1977. Osage St. Mrs. Finck was born in Plainview. She lived in Amarillo for most of her life. She worked as an LVN at Bivins Memorial Nursing Home for several years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of Arden Road Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Finck, in 1987. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Bill Fitzgerald, of San Jacinto United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Waldrop was born in Guymon, Okla. She lived her early years in a dugout in the Oklahoma Panhandle, formerly known as "No Man's Land" following its abandonment by Texas as a part of United States statehood. Her parents were James Williams and Adda Bethel Rhoads. She was J.W. Rhoads' fourth child of nine. Her biography in the Cowgirl Hall of Fame publication "Saddle Your Own Horse" states: "From the time she went to work on horseback when she was three bringing in milk cows to competing in barrel racing at 76, Dora was a standout Texas horsewoman who consistently won on the horses she trained. A fierce promoter for barrel racing, she was the first to convince Texas Panhandle rodeos to include girls barrel racing as an event. While recovering from a riding injury, Dora turned to writing horsemanship articles for the major horse publications." She was an Amarillo resident for more than 60 years and a longtime member of San Jacinto Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Panhandle A&M College, Goodwell, Okla. She had been a school teacher, postal clerk and retired as a civil service examiner. She obtained her single engine pilot's license after retirement. She was inducted as an honoree of the Cowgirl Hall of Fame in 1979. She married Edgar Lewis Waldrop on Oct. 9, 1931, in Cherokee, Okla., and he preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1971. She married Lou E. Hemby on July 13, 1974, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1978. Survivors include sisters, Hazel Mannion of Amarillo and Virginia Eyster of Marble Falls; a son, Lewis Don Waldrop and wife, Peggy, of Venus with whom she lived since 1998; grandchildren, Alice O'Leary, Alan Waldrop and Grace Bradley; great-grandchildren, Chelton O'Leary, Mica Inaba and Tyler Waldrop; and numerous nieces and nephews.
