Mrs. Manuel was born Sept. 14, 1918, in Quail, Collingsworth County, and was a lifetime resident. She married Marvin Manuel in 1939 in Collingsworth County. She was a homemaker and a member of Wellington Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 22, 1988; and a son, Jerry Manuel on Dec. 29, 1998. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by a brother, Al Schank in 1982. She grew up on a farm outside of Wichita, Kan., and had lived in Bartlesville, Okla., for 43 years prior to moving to Amarillo. She was a homemaker and collected buttons and thimbles. She loved to play cards. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Brady in 1985; a stepson, Bob Brady in 2000; and two grandchildren. Survivors include five sons, Cecil Brady of Wichita, Douglas Brady of Haysville, Kan., Charles Brady of Channing, Randy Brady of Amarillo and Arnold Brady of Winfield; four daughters, Carolyn Queen of Louisville, Ky., Darlene Cotner of Williamsburg, Va., Dee Brady of Vancouver, Wash., and Sherri Berlanga of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Barbara Boston of Topeka, Kan.; a stepson, Gene Brady of Independence, Kan.; a sister, Emily Ragland of Wichita; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Newkirk Cemetery in Newkirk, Okla. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Walker was born to George L. Walker and Myrl Bliss on Sept. 3, 1925. She graduated from Newkirk High School in 1943. She lived in Anchorage, Alaska, from 1950 to 1999, where she worked for Northwest Airlines from 1950 to 1987. She moved to Ponca City, Okla., in 1999 and moved to Amarillo in April 2001. She was a member of Pioneers of Alaska and a member of P.E.O. Survivors include two sisters, Janell Hill of Amarillo and Susanne Patterson of Ponca City; two brothers, Rex L. Walker of Oklahoma City and George Walker Jr. of Newkirk, Okla.; and 10 nieces and nephews. Amarillo Globe-News, March 5, 2003 Arthur Folsom Jr. Arthur Folsom Jr., 76, of Amarillo died Sunday, March 2, 2003. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2101 N. Coulter St., with Kerry Ormson, bishop, officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Folsom was born in Amarillo on Sept. 22, 1926, to Arthur Folsom Sr. and Dorris Horrell Folsom. He moved to Stratford with his parents and graduated from Stratford High School. He attended West Texas State College until he joined the Navy during World War II. After the war, he became an apprentice electrician with the IBEW Local 602 in Amarillo. After graduating as a journeyman electrician in 1949, he worked for several contracting firms including Albert Lard Electric, Amarillo Electric and Duke Electric. In 1960, he went to work for Glenn McMennamy at A-1 Electric Co. and worked there until 1984. He started Folsom Electric with his son, Tommy in 1984 and retired in 1991. He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1952. He married Jimmye Smith Folsom in Clovis, N.M., and they lived together in Amarillo for 49 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife on Feb. 28, 2002. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Snyder and husband, Dr. Rush Snyder; two sons, Tommy Folsom and wife, Debbie, and Randy Folsom and wife, Margie, of Dallas; four grandchildren, Ryan Folsom of Amarillo, Scott Folsom of Orem, Utah, Jake Folsom of Dallas and Christina D'Alessandro of Yonkers, N.Y.; and a sister, Lorene Spurlock of Stratford. Arrangements are by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Mitchem was born July 7, 1958, in Hinton, W.Va. He was a truck driver for Dub and G.W. Collins. He had previously lived in Amarillo for 20 years, and had been back here for the last three months. Amber Blevins, his sister of Alderson, W.Va., died in the same car accident as Buddy. Survivors include his father, Jennings Mitchem Sr. of Alderson; his wife, Betty; a son, Jennings Lewis "Trey" Mitchem III of Amarillo; a daughter, Rachel J. Amarillo Globe-News, March 5, 2003 New Mexico Bernardino "Bill" Anaya CLOVIS, N.M. - Bernardino "Bill" Anaya, 75, died Saturday, March 1, 2003, in Lubbock, Texas. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in The Chapel. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Anaya served in the Army in Germany during World War II. He was an avid hunter, story teller and coin collector.
