"Pappy" Waldrop, 89, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5401 S. Bell St., with Bishop Joe Lockwood officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mr. Waldrop was born May 17, 1913, in Alba to Vernon Emerson and Nanie Ruby Young Waldrop. He married Dorothy McCullough on Sept. 30, 1937, in El Reno, Okla. He was employed at Phillips Rubber Plant for 34 years and retired in 1978. He served in the National Guard for four years and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Della Louise Waldrop on July 19, 1956. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sue Ganschow and husband, Dick, of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Saltness lived many years in the San Fernando Valley, and had lived in Lubbock for the past eight years. She was loved by her family and many friends. She was a member of the Baptist church. She was a licensed vocational nurse. She was preceded in death by her father, Rube Faus; her mother, Julia McManus; two sisters, Rosa Steele Pierce and Juanita Pierce; two nephews, Calvin Pierce and Richard Pierce; and a niece, Jammie Pierce. Mr. Martinez was born and raised in Plainview. He moved to Amarillo from Plainview in 1997. He was employed at Excel as a supervisor until 1993, when he became disabled. Mr. Martinez was a member of the Panhandle Independent Living Center of Amarillo. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Yeager had lived in Amarillo since 1948. She married E.C. Yeager in 1934. She was a seamstress for Colbert's Clothing for 19 years. She was an artist, and loved to paint still portraits. Margene had been a partner of Believers Way Church since its beginning, she was a pillar. She was a woman who knew her God-given assignment and joyfully pursued it with all of her heart. This pursuit caused Margene to be a woman marked by the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976. Survivors include a son, Glenn Yeager and wife, Kay, of Georgetown; a daughter, Donna Patton and husband, Bobby, of Richardson; a sister, Mary Howard of Amarillo; a special niece, Pat Parker-Jones of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was a resident of Amarillo from 1963 to 2001 and had lived in Houston since December 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1999. Survivors include three sons, Doug of Kihei, Hawaii, Paul of Missouri City and Sam of Bellingham, Wash.; a sister, Margaret Woodlan of Pratt, Kan.; and a grandson, David of Portland, Ore.
