Burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Baker was born June 4, 1924, in Vici, Okla. She was a Sunray resident for the past 33 years. She married Buddy Baker in 1962 at Canadian. She was a homemaker and a member of Bible Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; a son, Billy Lynn Margrave of Texarkana; a daughter, Vickie Walker of Siloam Springs, Ark.; four grandchildren, Tonya Winget and Teri Davis, both of Siloam Springs, Dallas Wade Margrave of Canyon and Leoka Margrave of Idaho; and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Robbins was born in Amarillo and attended Highland Park, Tascosa High School and Carver Learning Center. He was a drummer for several different bands before moving to Austin 11 years ago, where he continued his musical career with several Austin area bands. His previous band, Color, toured with Peter Frampton and Journey. He was currently the drummer for the band Danni Leigh. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Harold Dondlinger of Guymon, Okla.; and two aunts, Genevieve Russell and Glynna Russell. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was loved by all at Amarillo Nursing Home, where she lived for 412 years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991; a great-grandson, Taige Ryan Walker in 1995; and a daughter-in-law, Peggy Blocker in 2001. She worked as a counselor's clerk at Horace Mann Middle School, and was a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church all of her life. Mrs. Gamblin was a chapter leader for The Compassionate Friends for six years, a member of Genealogy Society, a charter member of Amarillo Colony of the Mayflower Society of the State of Texas - Governor of Amarillo, chaplain for David Wing Chapter of Colonial Dames XVIIC, Alibates Chapter for American Colonist and Daughters of the American Revolution. She married Bill Gamblin on Dec. 9, 1966, in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Gamblin in 1995. In her younger years, she taught Sunday school in the children's department, and also sang in the sanctuary choir and later in the heritage choir. She married Lee A. Wilson in 1926 at McLean. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1967. Mr. Yates was a member of Trinity Fellowship. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Irrek Graves. Amarillo Globe-News, March 9, 2003 Leonard "Pete" Jones Leonard "Pete" Jones, 85, of Amarillo died Thursday, March 6, 2003. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in New Light Ministries. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Lee Cemetery in Winnsboro by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Mr. Jones was born June 18, 1917, in Winnsboro, to Johnnie and Daisy Jones. He was one of 12 children. Pete attended Dunbar School in Winnsboro. In 1942, he married Ruby Lynn Cunningham of Winnsboro. To this union 11 children were born. He joined the Armed Services in 1942 and received an honorable discharge in 1944. Pete moved to Amarillo in 1945 and began a long journey as a successful entrepreneur in the community. He was recognized as being the first African-American business owner in downtown Amarillo. Pete Jones was a business owner who possessed numerous talents in the business field. He believed in a strong work ethic which he displayed in his many ventures. His first business venture was a shoe shine parlor located in downtown Amarillo. Later he added a newsstand and pool hall. In addition, he attended mechanic school and became a certified mechanic. In the late 1970s, he started an auto body/repair shop which later evolved into Pete Jones Tire Shop located at the corner of Mirror Street and Northeast 24th Avenue. His persevering entrepreneurial spirit, along with a strong work ethic, had made him a role model in this community for some 58 years. He has received numerous awards in the community. One of his most prestigious being a day observed in his honor, "Pete Jones Day," Aug. 27, 1969. He was preceded in death by three children, Billy Wayne Jones, Marcus Delbert Jones and Brenda Kaye Jones; and 11 siblings. Survivors include four sons, Leonard Jones of Odessa, Thomas Jones of Amarillo, Billy Ray Henson of Winnsboro and Quincy Henderson of Denver; nine daughters, Mary Louise Rodriguez and husband, Robert, of Fort Worth, Virginia Harper and husband, Roger, Freddie Jones, Trenal Jones and Diane Grant, all of Dallas, Daisy Lemmons and husband, Robert, of Tyler, Rita Rector and husband, Fred, of Amarillo, Cynthia Jones of Winnsboro and Stacy Jones of Midland; 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; an aunt, Sally White of Winnsboro; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and employees; and those strongly influenced by Pete Jones, Ralph Scott and William Scott.
