Charles Douglas officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Darden was born June 16, 1929, in Gilmer. He was a retired driver for NL Acme Tool Co. Mrs. Pavillard was born in Borger, the second daughter of Raymond and Myrtle Keith on Feb. 12, 1934. She continued to live in Borger throughout high school. She attended Texas Tech, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She enjoyed a lifetime career in the insurance business. She and her husband, J.D., had lived in Amarillo since 1991, where they continued in the insurance business. They were members of Trinity Baptist Church. Dona enjoyed interior design, gardening, travel, tennis and spending time with friends, family and especially grandchildren. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Audrey Allison of Dallas; a son, Eddie Lancaster and wife, Shawn, of Amarillo; three sisters, June Voigt and husband, Gary, of Borger, Glenda Guyton of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Jan Summers and husband, Darrell, of Lubbock; three stepchildren, Debra Stein and husband, John, of Dallas, Dan Pavillard and wife, Cindy, of Amarillo and Kay Kesterson and husband, Joe, of Amarillo; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Daniel had taught school in Dumas and was a retired speech pathologist. She married Mitchel Rankin on Aug. 9, 1955, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1996, in Arlington. She married Charley "Buddy" Daniel on May 10, 1997, in Crowell. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Michelle Trupe of Amarillo and Kay Laake of Dumas; a sister, Reta King and husband, Dale, of Houston; and six grandchildren. Georgia St. Mr. Drake worked for J. Lee Milligan construction for 15 years and retired from Holmes Construction in 2002. He was a Christian and loved woodworking, puzzles and was a talented musician. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Mrs. Nolan was born in Amarillo on April 27, 1906. She was reared in Sherman and attended Kidd Key College in 1926. She married Thomas Edward Bracken on Feb. 14, 1927. She moved to Hurst, Ill., in 1935 and operated a motion picture theater for 22 years. She attended Southern Illinois University, graduating in 1958 with a bachelor of science degree. She started teaching and taught second grade in Pana, Ill., for two years. They moved to Dalton City, Ill., teaching 12 years in the elementary school of Mount Zion School District, Unit 3. Mr. Bracken preceded her in death in 1966. She retired from teaching in 1972. Mrs. Nolan moved back to Amarillo in 1976. She met Otis P. Nolan Sr., at the Senior Citizens Association. They were married on April 14, 1979. Mr. Nolan preceded her in death in January 1999. Mrs. Nolan was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 64 of Hurst, First Christian Church, The Newcomers Club, Senior Citizens Association, NARFE and Retired Teachers Organization of Illinois. Survivors include a stepson, Otis P. Nolan Jr. of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Lee Hefner of Florence; two cousins, Bertie Whitaker and Minnie Belle Sharp, both of Amarillo; 10 stepgrandchildren; 26 step great-grandchildren; and five step great-great-grandchildren. Survivors include two daughters, Frances Collins and Doe Tooley, both of Boise City; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, March 13, 2003 Canyon Mildred Strange Mildred Strange, 80, of Canyon, formerly of Lubbock died Tuesday, March 11, 2003. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Highland Baptist Church of Lubbock with Dr. Stan Blevins, pastor, and the Rev. Bob Batson of the church officiating. Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens Cemetery by Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock. Mrs. Strange was born Aug. 22, 1922, in Homer, La. She graduated from Kermit High School and attended the former Texas Technological College in Lubbock. She married Lowrie Strange in Kermit on Sept. 24, 1940. She had been a faithful member of Highland Baptist Church since 1958, where she also served as a secretary for many years. She was fondly known as "Geemers" by her grandchildren, who considered her the best cook in the world. She possessed uncommon Christian character and faith which she shared freely with all who knew her. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Carol Talley and husband, Verne, of Canyon; two sons, Dr. David Strange and wife, Nancy, of Lubbock and Ken Strange and wife, Donna, of Amarillo; a sister, Juanita Jones of Kingsville; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Mr. Olson was born March 4, 1919, to Arthur and Esther Anderson Olson. He married Dorothy Prichard in 1941 in Clovis, N.M. He attended West Texas High School in Canyon. He was a director at the Co-op, a member of ASCS Committee, Randall County Sheriff's Posse and Randall County Junior Livestock Association. He was also a member of Randall County Crops Committee and had received the Top Hand Award. He also served on the Randall County Farm Bureau committee and was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister. Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Glenn Olson and wife, Bettye, of Texline and Donald M. Olson of Canyon; and five nieces and nephews, Anne Fields, Carol Farmer, Mark Olson, Jamie Moore and Chris Olson. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church Building Fund.
