Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. Roy Wheeler, the Rev. Scott Greer and the Rev. Mark Zimmerman, all of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Bishop was born in Quail. He graduated with an accounting degree in 1949 from West Texas State University. He retired from Producers Grain Association where he served as vice president and comptroller. He was past president of Data Processors Management Association; active in AMBUCS; member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and active in the alumnae group. He was a 36-year-member of the Lamplighter Sunday school class and a deacon at Paramount Terrace Christian Church. He married Donna Blair Gaines in Amarillo on Feb. 24, 1967. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Judd Bishop and wife, Jan, of Lafayette, La., and Joe Gaines and wife, Carla, of Dalhart; a daughter, Julie Blair of Amarillo; a sister, Mary Waits of Phoenix; three grandsons, Joe W. Gaines and wife, Stephanie, Cody Gaines and Landon Blair and wife, Scarlette; a great-great-granddaughter, Madison Ann Gaines; and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to El Porvenir Christian Camp in care of Paramount Terrace Christian Church, 4000 Mays, Amarillo, TX 79109. Amarillo Globe-News, March 24, 2003 Helen Jones Helen Jones, 86, of Amarillo died Saturday, March 22, 2003. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Souls Harbor Church with the Rev. Freddie Richardson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mrs. Jones was born Dec. 14, 1916, to Curtis and Ella Mae Carnley Brooks. She moved to Amarillo from Knox City in 1943. She lost her mother at an early age and helped raise her brothers and sisters. Her family and her faith in God were her life and she loved reading her Bible. She was a member of Four Square Gospel Church. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; three sisters, Betty Jo Brooks, Opal Ruth Beaty and Mary Cochran; and a brother, L.A. Brooks. Survivors include two daughters, Ella Mae Whitley and Kathy Jones, both of Amarillo; a son, Curtis Jones of Amarillo; two sisters, Virginia Warrick of North Las Vegas, N.M., and Rosa Lee Fagan of Amarillo; three brothers, Ray Brooks of Pampa, Bruce Brooks of Canyon and Glenn Brooks of Wolfforth; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Life of Praise Fellowship with LaVon Thompson, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Poole was born April 30, 1920, in Guthrie, Okla. He married Genelta June Walker on July 12, 1941, in Sayre, Okla. He was a World War II veteran of the Army receiving a Purple Heart. He was a Pampa resident from 1954 until moving to Amarillo in 1988. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Tommy and Donald; and two sisters, Christine and Alma. Survivors include his wife; a son, William of Amarillo; a daughter, Loretta Bridwell of Skellytown; five brothers, Virgil Poole of Pampa, Max Poole of Borger, H.H. "Red" Poole of Monticello, Utah, Lloyd Poole of Morse and Eugene Poole of Canadian; three sisters, Maudine Skidmore of Monticello, Helen Nokes of Pampa and Jean Bond of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Georgia St. Mr. Etheridge worked at Plains Chevrolet as a mechanic for 33 years until retiring in 1978. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 731 and San Jacinto Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Anna Belle. Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne Bitting and husband, John, of Amarillo; a son, R.G. Etheridge Jr. of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Pamela Williams; three grandsons, David, Dale and Daniel Bitting; and seven great-grandchildren. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Jennings was a resident of Amarillo all of her life. She was born in Amarillo to Herman H. Hale and Ruth Barton. She worked for Amarillo National Bank as a bookkeeper for 16 years. She loved to play grandma to her two grandchildren. She was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her father in 1990. Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Fitting of Amarillo; her mother, Ruth Hale of Amarillo; two brothers, Jim Hale of Prescott, Ariz., and Jerry Hale of Sparta, Wis.; one sister, Pat Riojas of Midland; and two grandchildren, Adam and Amanda Fitting, both of Amarillo. She was a longtime resident of Bartlesville, Okla., before moving to Amarillo in 1988. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in sociology. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Amarillo. She married Carl H. Petersen on Aug. 31, 1938, in Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 11, 1985. Survivors include two daughters, Lynell Marcum and husband, Jim, of Amarillo and Carol Ewer and husband, Bill, of Capistrano Beach, Calif.; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Pointer and husband, Tony, of San Juan Capistrano, Calif. She was the owner/operator of Edna's Beauty Shop for 45 years. Survivors include three daughters, June Pino of Bosque, Peggy Williams of Clovis and Carolyn Sharber of Amarillo; a brother, Guy E. Sanders of Tucumcari; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
