Services will be at 10 a.m. today in 11th and Amarillo Street Church of Christ with J. Henderson of the church and Bob Thomas, chaplain of Crown of Texas Hospice, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Perkins was born April 23, 1920, in Lone Star Community, Floyd County. She married Reginal Perkins on Dec. 17, 1937. Survivors include two daughters, Kay Jones of Corpus Christi and Gina McLain of Dallas; a son, Larry Perkins of Plainview; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, March 31, 2003 John Hutchens John Hutchens, 96, of Amarillo died Friday, March 28, 2003. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Terry Tamplen, pastor of Kingswood Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Hutchens married Josie Mae Wiggins on July 30, 1939, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 2001. He served in the Air Force in World War II and retired from working as a manager at Von Tobels Lumber Yard in Las Vegas, Nev., before moving to Amarillo. He and his wife were members of Kingswood Methodist Church and Amity Sunday School class. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Anna Maria Hutchens; a daughter, Barbara Denniston; and a sister, Lucille Smith. Survivors include a son, Tom Hutchens and wife, Jean, of Indian Wells, Calif.; two sisters, Marie Boyd and Eleanor Tyre, both of Pampa; two brothers, Wayne Hutchens of Amarillo and Lee Hutchens of Philadelphia; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and a special niece, Ernestine Costley who lovingly took care of John and Josie over the years. The family suggests memorials be to Kingswood Methodist Church building fund. Amarillo Globe-News, March 31, 2003 Ray Don Allgood Ray Don Allgood, 64, of Amarillo died Friday, March 28, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Rockwell Road Baptist Church with Paul Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Allgood married Earlene on Aug. 25, 1961. They had been married for 41 years. He worked for Amarillo Hardware before opening Allgood Trucking. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and making candles. He loved spending time with his family and he will be greatly missed. He was a member of Rockwell Road Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Vernon Allgood. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Debra Kay Valdez and Tami Sue McCroskey, both of Amarillo, and Carolyn Lee Fry of Clinton, Mo.; three sons, David Wayne Allgood, Randall Don Allgood and Dale Ryan Allgood, all of Amarillo; two sisters, Johnnie Faye Rosanbaum of Farmington, N.M., and Betty Jean Mosher of Garden City, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. No services are scheduled at this time. Burial will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery of Santa Fe, N.M. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Clermont was born in Queens, N.Y. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked for the railroad as an assistant engineer. He retired in 1988. Survivors include a sister, Patricia Audsley of Tampa, Fla.; and a brother, Eddie Clermont of Atlanta. Mr. Haddox was born in Amarillo and was a self-employed carpet layer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Haddox, in 2003. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hendershot was born Sept. 29, 1917, in Van Alstyne to James and Emma Lou Shaw Mooney. She married Alton B. Hendershot in Westminster on March 1, 1936. He died in 1980. She had moved to Canadian from Collin County in 1936. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a son, Lee Hendershot of Canadian; a brother, Billy Joe Mooney of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, March 31, 2003 Golda Faye Jones WELLINGTON - Golda Faye Jones, 87, died Saturday, March 29, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Derwin Comer, minister of youth and music, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Jones was born Feb. 12, 1916, to Walter and Mona Johnson in Eastland County. Her family moved to the Salt Fork Community of Collingsworth County in 1916 in a covered wagon. She married Hezze Jones on Dec. 2, 1940, in Hollis, Okla. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a 50-year member of the VFW Auxiliary. She loved to play basketball and baseball and loved the Dallas Cowboys. She was well known for her garage sales. The family sincerely extends a special thank you to the caring staff and aides of Wellington Care Center, the loving care of her sisters, Isla Mae Morris and Esta Glenn, to Dr. Thomas and the nurses and staff of Collingsworth General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years; a daughter, Wynona Andress; a grandson, Derel Layton; three sisters; and a brother. Survivors include a daughter, Gaylon Layton and husband, Tony, of Arlington; two sons, James "Hot Rod" Jones of Amarillo and Tim Jones and wife, Karen, of Baytown; three sisters, Alma Wilson of Amarillo, Isla Mae Morris and Esta Glenn, both of Wellington; a brother, R.B. Burial will be in Santa Rita Mission Cemetery in Bernal. Mrs. Marquez was born May 25, 1925, in Florence, Colo., the daughter of Abel and Luisa Castellano. She married Reynaldo Marquez on Jan. 26, 1950, in San Miguel, N.M. He preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 1999. She had lived in Hereford since 1963. She was a homemaker and member of San Jose Catholic Church. Survivors include three sons, Charlie Marquez and Marvin Marquez, both of Hereford, and Joe Marquez of Amarillo; 10 daughters, Julia Scott, Fannie DeLeon, Connie Marquez, Janie Alejandre, Ruby Castillo, Bernice Gonzales, Carol Castaneda, all of Hereford, and Gean Marquez and Ramona Marquez, both of Amarillo, and Elaine Jaramillo of Bernal, N.M.; a brother, Fernadez Castellano of Trinidad, Colo.; a sister, Sesaria Marez of Trinidad; 33 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
