Mrs. Lewis was born in Harrison County, W.Va. Mrs. Lewis and her husband moved to Skellytown in 1929, to Pampa in 1954, and to McLean in 1971. She was a homemaker and had a strong desire to continue to learn and grow. At the age of 94, she continued to maintain an active interest in news and world events. She had many interesting stories to tell her family about her family as she had grown up and their accomplishments. She married George Lewis on July 16, 1928, in Oakland, Md. She was a member of Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 10, 1993. Mrs. Strange was born July 14, 1913, the eldest of five children, in Sunset, Kan., to Jack and Emma Forsyth. She married James Strange and moved to Amarillo in 1941. Mrs. Strange worked for White & Kirk and The Fabric Mart for many years. She was a homemaker and a member for 62 years of Central Church of Christ. She was also a member of T.E.D. Federated Women's Club, holding several offices including president, a member of Piecemakers Quilt Club and enjoyed quilting, needlepoint, crochet and doll making. Mrs. Strange moved to The Continental in 1993, and was recently honored by Amarillo Globe-News for being on outstanding resident volunteer there. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983; three sisters; and a brother. He was the owner and operator of Buckles Lounge, Route 66 Roadhouse and established The Pine Shed. He lived in Stratford for 20 years, where he raised his three sons. Mr. Maas farmed and ranched most of his life. He worked for the Kritser Ranch for the past 19 years. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Mr. Maas lived life one day at a time, taking the good and making it better, and taking the bad and turning it into good. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He married Juanita Hancock in 1951 at Clayton. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Charles A. Mrs. Black was a member of South Lawn Baptist Church for 40 years, where she served on the benevolence committee. She was a loving wife and "Me Maw" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sons, Edwin Earl Black and Fredrick Lynn Black, both in 2002. Mr. Stallings was born in Tucumcari, N.M., on Jan. 19, 1926, to Thomas and Antonia Stallings. He married Imogene Summar on Aug. 1, 1945, at Central Baptist Church. They have lived in Amarillo since 1945. He was a member of Arden Road Baptist Church and was a Sunday school teacher, soul winner and a great example of how to serve our Savior when his health allowed. He served his country in the Navy during World War II. He also worked for City of Amarillo as a service man for the water department for 39 years. Amarillo Globe-News, April 1, 2003 William Boyd "Bill" London Sr. DALLAS - William Boyd "Bill" London Sr., 74, died Monday, March 17, 2003. Services were at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 22, in Restland Funeral Home Wildwood Chapel. Burial was at 9 a.m. Monday, March 24, in Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery. Mr. London was born July 21, 1928, in Hereford and graduated from Hereford High School in 1945. In 1949, he graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953, attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He was awarded a Bronze Star. He began his professional career in 1949 with the Texas Highway Department in Jasper. From there, he worked a short time for the City of Midland, leaving for the Army. In 1953, he worked for Ebasco Construction Services in Waco. In 1954, starting with Hasie and Green in Lubbock, he began a long career as a consulting engineer specializing in water and wastewater projects throughout the State of Texas. In 1957, he moved to Dallas and began work with Forrest and Cotton through 1975. Among his clients at Forrest and Cotton were Trinity River Authority, North Texas Municipal Water District, Dallas County Utility and Reclamation District, University of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the cities of Dallas, Plano, Mesquite, Garland, Richardson, Carrollton, Pampa, Palestine, Corsicana, Commerce, Greenville, among many others. Bill moved to Houston and worked for Stevens Thompson & Runyan, Consulting Engineers from 1975 to 1978. From 1978 through 1984, he worked for Graham Associates, Consulting Engineers. From 1984 to 1985, he served as Director of Community Development for the City of DeSoto. He ended his career with Westwind Properties in 1993. A Registered Professional Engineer, he was also a Registered Land Surveyor. He was preceded in death by his parents, A. B. and Gertrude London; and his son, Michael Chris London. Survivors include his children, Boyd London and wife, Karon, of Rockwall, Susan London of Georgetown, Catharine London of Denver, John London and wife, Denise, of Plano and Margaret Woodfin and husband, Mark, of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Jack London and his wife, Gretchen, of Corsicana.
