Mr. Reed was a machine operator for Phelps-Dodge Copper Mill. He was a Baptist. Survivors include four sons, Roger Reed, Steve Reed and Wayne Reed, all of Borger, and Scott Reed; a daughter, Twanna VanLoon of Carlsbad, N.M.; four sisters, Lillian Powell and Christine Jackson, both of Borger, Francis Foster of Kress and Fannie Ashley of Plainview; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mrs. Herriage moved to the Earth community in 1952 from Littlefield. She was a member of Earth Church of Christ and was a homemaker. Mr. Brogdon was born in Amarillo. He worked for AirGas for six years. She moved to Amarillo in 1997 from Idalou. She had lived in the Lubbock area for 31 years. She was a member of Parkway Church of Christ in Lubbock. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Raven in 1980; and a daughter, Pat Dumas in 1993. Arrangements are by Miles Funeral Service. Mrs. Mitchener was born Aug. 15, 1913, in Malta Bend, Mo. She married Lemuel Maurice Mitchener on June 17, 1931, in Sedalia, Mo. Survivors include a son, Robert L. Mitchener of Amarillo, Texas; two daughters, Margaret Cox and Betty Randall, both of Winfield, Kan.; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, April 5, 2003 Maxine Phillips SAN ANTONIO - Maxine Phillips, 86, formerly of Dumas died Thursday, April 3, 2003. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Porter Loring Mortuary North Chapel. A second service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas with the Rev. Larry Phillips and the Rev. Lonnie Phillips officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery in Dumas. Mrs. Phillips was born Nov. 27, 1916, in Oklahoma, but was a true Texan at heart. Maxine will be lovingly remembered for being so giving, always positive, never complaining, ever encouraging and always proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed, but is now in the presence of her loving heavenly Father. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Phillips, who retired from Diamond Shamrock Oil and Gas Co. after 35 years of service; and a son, Lonnie Ray Phillips, a football coach in the Texas Panhandle for many years. Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Reback and Jean Cathcart, both of the Los Angeles area; a brother, Harold Morris of the Los Angeles area; her children, Jaylene Griggs and husband, Lee A. a housing contractor, of San Antonio and Larry D.
