Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Wagoner, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Troutman was born Feb. 16, 1910, in Wichita County to G.L. and Hattie Troutman. He was a Moore County resident since 1925. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1928 and graduated from West Texas State University in 1932. He then taught science and coached in Dimmitt and Arizona. He was a captain in the Air Force in World War II and the Korean War. He married Pat Walter on Sept. 20, 1953, in Denver. He moved to Dumas and was employed by Diamond Shamrock until his retirement in 1972. After his retirement he operated his own business, Troutman Oil Company, and escorted bus tours over all the United States and Canada with Trailway Tours of Amarillo. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Dumas where he served on many boards. He was a delegate to annual conferences for many years and served as a Sunday school teacher for youth and adults. In 1975 he was chosen man of the year by the Dumas Chamber of Commerce for unselfish service to the community. He was one of the organizers of the Dumas YMCA and served two terms as president. He was on the original board of the United Way and served two terms on the Dumas Independent School Board. He was a member of the Noon Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, American Legion Post 224, Gideons International, American Cancer Society Board, Dumas Industrial Development, American Heart Association Volunteer, West Texas State University Phoenix Club, board member of New Beginnings Christian Retreat Center and a driver for Meals on Wheels. In June 2000 he was chosen Old Timer of the Year by Noon Lion's Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carl; and a sister, Louise Conrad. Survivors include his wife, Pat; a daughter, Patsy Potter and husband, Danny, of Dumas; a sister, Ruth Wells of Dumas; and two grandsons, Matt Graves of Abilene and Chase Potter of Canyon. He had farmed in Hereford since 1954 and was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by three sons; a daughter; and a sister. Mrs. Jackson was born Nov. 4, 1933, in Blue Earth, Minn., to Edward and Beatrice "Lopez" Torres. She married Jesse Joseph Jackson on March 13, 1954, in San Diego, and they were married more than 49 years. Lois Jackson served in and was a veteran of the United States Navy from 1952 to 1954. She was a respiratory therapist at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego. She loved to bowl, raise horses and dogs. Most of all, she was devoted to and loved her family. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Jackson in 1976; and a daughter, Patricia Jackson in 1978. She was a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church. She married Charlie Robinson on June 21, 1941, in Amarillo. She was the first president of American Business Women's Association, a member of First Christian Church and Christian Women's Fellowship, Ruth Group. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 1959. Mrs. Bumpass, the daughter of George and Emma Brown, was born in Eastland on May 27, 1915. The family moved to a farm in Foard County near Crowell in 1918. She married George L. Bumpass on Nov. 6, 1937. They moved to Hereford in 1947 and raised two children. She was active in helping at the schools, church and Scouting as a volunteer until her health would no longer permit this work. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Peggy McDaniel of Wichita Falls; and a son, Danny Bumpass of Hereford. Survivors include a son-in-law, James McDaniel of Wichita Falls; a grandson, Jim McDaniel of Wichita Falls; a granddaughter, Lorrie McDaniel Stanton of Henrietta; three great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and three great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, April 10, 2003 Trent Raynard Nickerson TERRELL - Trent Raynard Nickerson, 40, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Shiloh Baptist Church. Burial will be in New Oakwood Cemetery by Davis Funeral Home. Mr. Nickerson was born Nov. 29, 1962, in Amarillo to the union of Cecil W. Nickerson and the late Mary L. Nickerson. He was the fifth of five boys raised in this family. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in Amarillo in 1981. Immediately after high school he joined the Navy but received an honorable discharge in July 1981 for health reasons. He also attended Texas College in Tyler for a short period of time. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary L. Nickerson. Survivors include his father, Cecil W. Nickerson of Amarillo; grandmothers, Ruby F. Nickerson of Amarillo and Johnnie M. King of Terrell; four brothers, Glenn D. Nickerson and wife, Vicki, of Dallas, Marion W. Nickerson of Austin, Marcus A. Nickerson of Palestine and Kim J. Nickerson and wife, Deirdree, of Beltsville; other siblings he leaves behind include a sister, Renay McCollon of Amarillo; a brother, Stacey Frost of Amarillo; a sister, Camia Walker of Amarillo; and a sister, Shad-aye Nickerson of Phoenix. Trent also leaves behind his beloved aunt Esther G. Jackson of Terrell and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
