Darrell Burton, pastor of Martin Baptist Church in Clarendon, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home of Amarillo, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Durham was born in Brashears, Mo. He moved to Clarendon in 1998 from Iowa. He worked in construction for many years and was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include two daughters, Christine Emerson of Valencia, Calif., and Cindy Alpers of Santa Ynez, Calif.; four sisters; four brothers; and 6 grandchildren. Mr. Otwell was born May 30, 1912, in Snyder, Okla. He married Alyne Huff on Dec. 24, 1933, in Frederick, Okla. Amarillo Globe-News, April 15, 2003 Richard "Dick" Brent Jr. DALHART - Richard "Dick" Brent Jr., 80, died Friday, April 11, 2003, in Amarillo. Private graveside services will be held. Arrangements are by Horizon Funeral Home. Mr. Brent was born Sept. 12, 1922, to Richard Sr. and Charlotte Brent in Roseland, Va. Dick served in the Air Force during World War II, and when he was stationed in Dalhart he met and married Tommie Joe Watson. They made their home in Dalhart. They moved to Amarillo in 1993. Dick was an insurance agent for American National and American General Life Insurance Co. and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife in 1996. Survivors include two sons, Dick Brent of Canyon and Mike Brent of Austin; a daughter, Becky Lindmark of Canyon; a sister, Donna Smith of Dalhart; a brother, Bob Brent of Roseland; two sisters, Betty Drummond and Ann Pool, both of Richmond, Va.; three grandsons; and a great-granddaughter. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Smith was born and raised in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1962. He became a Christian as a preteen. He married Virginia Anne Watley in 1968 in Amarillo. Mr. Smith worked for Coca-Cola for 40 years. At the time of his death he was the service manager. He was a member of Evangelical Fellowship Church and Model A Club of America. Private family burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Mays was born Feb. 20, 1922, in Snowball, Ark. He had been an Amarillo resident since 1936. He served in the Air Force and was stationed in the Philippines for three years from 1941 to 1944. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Mays, with his brother, Troy Mays, and his uncle, Bill Mays, started Mays Auto Finance Co. in 1945. He also owned Kaiser-Frazier car dealership in Childress and started the first foreign car dealership in Amarillo. Mr. Mays was a rancher and partner in Mays Investment Co. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Agnes Mays, in 1977; his father, William Arlie Mays, in 1990; and a son, Kevin Myers in 1991. Survivors include three daughters, Debbie Bullard, Tess Wallace and Melanie Mays, all of Amarillo; two sons, Terry Rosengrin of Augusta, Ga., and Randy Rosengrin of Minneapolis; a brother, T.M. Georgia St. Answering to Mom, Grace, Gracie, Granny and Granny Good-Witch, her love, compassion and great sense of humor served her well as she attempted to mentor to all of her brood along with their friends. Her sharp wit turned many a situation into joyful occasion. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in both Amarillo until 1962 and in Euless for the remaining years until both her age and health prevented her participation. She was very active in the senior program and filled positions in the prayer closet and the clothes closet to serve the need of others. Her Sunday school class was her greatest joy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lindsey Smith in 1962; and two sisters, Blanch Herring and Mary Whipple, all of Amarillo. Survivors include two daughters, Bettye Warren of Euless and Linette Harwell and husband, George, of Houston; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Claude Cemetery in Claude by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mr. Cameron was born Sept. 11, 1910, in Claude. He married Grace Powell in 1930 at Claude. They moved to Stratford and from there to Temple, Okla., where he farmed and ranched for 43 years. He was active on the school board and church for many years. He retired and moved to Claude, then to Lubbock and finally to Canyon, where he was living at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1995; and a son, Merle Cameron in 1989. Survivors include a daughter, Vivian Thurman of Canyon; four grandsons, Steve Thurman and wife, Jana, of Amarillo, Allan Cameron and wife, Allison, of Longview, Kenneth Cameron and wife, Kathy, of Rowlett and David Thurman and wife, Carla, of Canyon; six great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and a great-great-granddaughter. Memorial services will be at 9 a.m. today in Westminster Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery by Hahn-Cook/Street and Draper Funeral Directors. Mrs. Donnell was born Oct. 7, 1934. She resided in Dallas and Amarillo before moving to Oklahoma City in 1980. She attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas and the University of Texas at Austin. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, the Junior League and Westminster Presbyterian Church. She also served as a board member of Oklahoma Breast Health Institute and the Women's Center at Mercy Hospital for Mind, Body and Spirit. Survivors include her husband, Tom; three sons, Dr. David of Dallas and Blake and Andy, both of Amarillo; a daughter-in-law, Norma Donnell of Amarillo; her loving sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Dr. David Russell of Arlington, Texas; and two granddaughters, Tessa and Tiffany.
