Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Polk Street United Methodist Church with Dr. James E. Garrett, senior pastor, officiating. Private burial will be by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Browers was born in Emhouse on Feb. 8, 1919. She was reared in Tehuacana and received her education in Texas. On June 6, 1937, she married a young ministerial student, J. Walter Browers, and together they served Methodist churches in various places in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico until their retirement in 1985 in Amarillo. She was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church; Chapter F.M., P.E.O.; and United Methodist Women. She was a devoted wife, the most wonderful mother and grandmother God ever created, a loving friend to many and a very proud great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walt. Survivors include two daughters, Roby Park and husband, Max, of Bloomington, Ind., and Charlotte Moore and husband, Richard, of Hilton Head, S.C.; three grandchildren, Scott Dyer of Algonquin, Ill., Angela Emmett of Bangor, Md., and Rick Moore of Arlington Heights, Ill.; and a great-grandchild, Delaney Joy Dyer. "Goose" White Charles G. "Goose" White, 79, of Amarillo died Saturday, April 26, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with the Rev. David Evans officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. White served in the Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He owned and operated Reds Towel Service in Amarillo for 30 years. He retired from SPS after 32 years of service. He was a 50-year mason and was a member of the Amarillo Lodge No. 731. Survivors include his wife, Vila; a daughter, Vickie Bramblet of Arlington; three sons, Ronnie White of Pampa, David White and Timothy White, both of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. James L. Collins officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes. Mr. Johnson was born in Ferriday, La. He was a former employee of the Potter County Sheriff's Department and Holiday Inn. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and was an Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, James Etta "Shirley"; three daughters, Jeanette Lewis of Compton, Calif., Shirley Johnson of Los Angeles and Linda Cruse of San Bernardino, Calif.; five sons, Charles Johnson, Charles Burton, Richard Johnson and Duane Burton, all of California, and David A. Amarillo Globe-News, April 28, 2003 Salvatore "Sal" Fruscella Salvatore "Sal" Fruscella, 90, of Amarillo died Saturday, April 26, 2003. Mass will be Saturday in Crawfordville, Fla. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth's Cemetery of Crawfordville by Harvey Young Funeral Home of Crawfordville. For time and place of mass, call (850) 926-2727. Georgia St. Mr. Fruscella was a first-generation Italian-American who was born shortly after his parents and relatives first set their eyes on the Statue of Liberty. He served for 30 years in the Army infantry was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a quiet warrior who fought a total of 52 months in live combat, for which he was decorated for valor and received the Purple Heart. He grew up in Cleveland, where he spent many childhood moments at his beloved Luna Park. As a young man, he dedicated much time to managing summer youth camps, even taking one group on a trip to entertain Eleanor Roosevelt at the White House. He lived many years in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York. He and his wife, Norma, loved to dance and were regulars a the local square and round dances. He and his family went on many camping outings and traveled extensively. He had visited all but three of the United States and traveled in Europe and the Far East. He was a dedicated husband, father, and Roman Catholic Christian, one of the unsung heroes of our time. Survivors include a daughter, Jackie Dalenberg of Illinois; three sons, Rich Fruscella of Illinois, Steve Fruscella of Amarillo and Jim Fruscella of New York; 19 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Mr. Gomez married Adela Sisneros on April 10, 1948, in Tucumcari, N.M. They were married for 55 years. He worked for Golden Spread Redi-Mix for 30 years. He was a member of Iglesia Bethel Church of Amarillo for 20 years. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Christine Maldonado in 1983 and Bonnie Gomez in 1963; and two sisters, Lucy Chavez and Ramona Solano. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Marylou Gomez-Darnell and husband, John, of Amarillo; two sons, George P. Gomez and Willie S. Gomez, both of Amarillo; three sisters, Delores Ortiz of Pico Rivera, Calif., Mary Sisneros of Santa Rosa, N.M., Frances Lopez of Springer, N.M.; two brothers, Vicente Gomez of Albuquerque, N.M., and Sostenes Gomez Jr. of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Vincent was born Nov. 24, 1935, in Hartley County to Roy and Bessie Lamkin Vincent. He loved woodworking and fishing.
