Mr. McNeese was born Sept. 29, 1918, in Baytown. He worked for Sanford-Fritch Independent School District and Phillips Petroleum Co. for 20 years each. Survivors include his wife, Myrldeen; two sons, Duke McNeese of Phoenix and Jack McNeese of Borger; a stepdaughter, Jackie Cox of Amarillo; and three grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, April 30, 2003 Irene Bourland Brown ADRIAN - Irene Bourland Brown, 98, died Monday, April 28, 2003, in Amarillo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dee Slocum, pastor, and the Rev. Bob Miller, pastor at South Georgia Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vega by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors at Vega. Mrs. Brown was born Nov. 30, 1904, in Flomot to Finis and Emma Garrison Bourland. She attended Wayland Baptist College in Plainview and West Texas Teachers College in Canyon, graduating in 1934. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary teachers sorority. She taught school in Dumont, Flomot and Adrian before retiring in 1973. She married Edgar Lee "Bill" Brown on Aug. 13, 1937, in Plainview. They farmed in Oldham and Deaf Smith counties. Mrs. Brown was an artist. She was very active in the Adrian community and First Baptist Church in Adrian. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1955. Survivors include two sons, Finis William Brown and wife, Cynthia, and Davis Lee Brown and wife, Rene, all of Adrian; three grandchildren, Kile Brown of Dallas, Barry Brown of New York and Karen Brown of Houston; three great-grandchildren, Chelsea Brown, Alison Brown and Blake Brown, all of Dallas; three sisters, Mollye Simpson of Childress, Belmont Watson of Shawnee, Okla., and Edna Ruth Greene of Matador; and numerous other loving family and friends. She was president of the Tascosa Country Club Women's Golf Association, where she was a member, a former board member of the Women's West Texas Golf Association, member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, a volunteer for the Amarillo Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, and a volunteer for the United Way of Amarillo and Canyon.
