Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Lee Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Addison, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park in Plainview by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mrs. Doss was born Feb. 6, 1930, in Tarrant County. She married Charles Doss on Feb. 9, 1947, in Olton. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Charla Kay Mansell of Plainview; a son, Kenneth Mac Doss of Dimmitt; her mother, Clara Bell of Slaton; a sister, Kathy Busby of Slaton; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Lee Street Baptist Church in Dimmitt. Amarillo Globe-News, May 3, 2003 Linda Hrabal DIMMITT - Linda Hrabal, 54, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, in Owasso, Okla. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Westlawn Cemetery in Dimmitt with Chuck Ball of Dimmitt Church of Christ officiating. Arrangements are by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mrs. Hrabal was born Sept. 7, 1947, in Dallas. She was an inspector for Laufen Ceramic Tile Co. Survivors include a daughter, Megan Sagi of Owasso; a son, John of Old Bridge, N.J.; her mother, Ruby Hrabal of Clarksville; a sister, Wanda Nelson of Dimmitt; two brothers, Jim Hrabal of Amarillo and Don Hrabal of Tyler; and two grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, May 3, 2003 Amarillo James "Herb" Knightstep III James "Herb" Knightstep III, 66, formerly of Amarillo died Thursday, May 1, 2003, in Chillicothe. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Knightstep was born in Memphis. He lived in Amarillo from 1950 to 1968. During that time, he worked for the Amarillo Globe-News. He then worked for Shell Oil Co. as a cargo inspector. He retired in 1999 at Deer Park. He was most recently living in La Porte. He served for four years in the Marines. Survivors include his mother, Pauline Knightstep of Hedley; a daughter, Shirle Haas of Georgetown; two sons, Alan Springer of Baytown and Jamie Knightstep of Seabrook; two sisters, Jeanine Celey and Martha Crawford, both of Amarillo; two brothers, John Ray Knightstep of Whitney and Ronnie Knightstep of Amarillo; and five grandchildren. Breidegan, 86, of Amarillo died Friday, May 2, 2003. Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Brian Hesse, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. (MDT) Monday in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery in Tucumcari, N.M., by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Breidegan was born in Machville, Pa. He graduated from Chillicothe Business College in Missouri. In August 1940, he began his career as a telegraph operator at Coyote, N.M., and Vaughn, N.M. In 1945, he moved to Tucumcari as a telegrapher and train order operator. He advanced to wire chief in 1949 and manager wire chief in 1969. In 1970, he became agent wire chief, the position held at the time of his retirement in June 1977 from Chicago, Rock Island and Southern Pacific Transportation Co. He had been a ham radio operator since 1987, and worked as a volunteer examiner for the ham radio license. His friends he had met through his hobby were a great enjoyment. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Mr. Breidegan met his future wife Grietje at school in Chillicothe. They were married in Afton, N.M. They enjoyed 48 years of marriage. She preceded him in death in 1989. He later married Martha Sherrill Breidegan. They had been married for 12 years. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Joanna Gutz and husband, Chuck, of Amarillo; a son, Harold Breidegan and wife, Margie, of Tucumcari; three stepdaughters, Stacy Minor Ferrell and husband, Jeff, Rebecca Sherrill and KayLynn Sherrill; four stepsons, Max Minor, Jim Sherrill and wife, Nancy, Ray Sherrill and Michael Minor; a sister, Mary Breidegan of Ventura, Calif.; three grandchildren, Michael Gutz and wife, Leslie, Cindy Dickerson and husband, Scott, and Brenda Graham and husband, David, all of Amarillo; and six great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Trinity Lutheran School, 5005 W. Interstate 40, Amarillo, TX 79106; or a Christian school of the donor's choice. Amarillo Globe-News, May 3, 2003 New Mexico Alvin Theodore Romero TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Alvin Theodore Romero, 43, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, in Garita. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Center Street United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Hage-Webb Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home. Mr. Romero was born May 11, 1959, in Las Vegas, N.M. He was a rancher and had ranched in Garita at Hage and Webb Land and Cattle Co. for 25 years. He was a member of New Mexico Cattle Growers Association and a member of U.S. Team Roping Championships, where he was an avid competitor. Survivors include his wife, Missie; his children, Maranda, Christina, Julianna, Sara, Olana and Alvin Chance, all of Tucumcari and Garita; his father, Pete Romero of Trujillo; six brothers, Dan Romero of Trujillo, Fred Romero and Nick Romero, both of Las Vegas, Jerry Romero of Dalhart, Texas, Richard Romero of Springtown, Texas, and Louis Romero of Garden City, Kan.; two sisters, Irene Martinez of Las Vegas and Sarah Quintana of Pecos; his mother-in-law, Carol Webb of Garita; a brother-in-law, Larry Webb of Newkirk; and a sister-in-law, Laura McKinney of Hartley, Texas. Mrs. Robertson was born Dec. 23, 1929, in Leflores. She lived in Seymour until moving to Memphis in September 1998. Survivors include two daughters, Vickie Freeze of Ruidoso, N.M., and Teresa Lockhart of Memphis; two sons, Davis L. Powell and Randy E. Powell, both of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Twila Hitt of Friona and Cathy Davis of Florida; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
