Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors, Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Barry Owens, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Higgins Cemetery at Higgins. Mrs. Detrixhe was born Sept. 23, 1916, in Quinlin, Okla., to Samuel and Artie Exester Ferrell. She was a homemaker and mother, enjoying all the activities of her family. The best years of her life were spent in and around Higgins where she was active in her church. She taught young people and adult Sunday school classes and was a church hostess for many years. She enjoyed the time when she lived at the Big Bull Ranch and cooked for many guests. After moving to Pampa in 1980, she was a member of First Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Detrixhe, in November 1989; nine brothers; and a sister. Survivors include a son, Max Detrixhe and wife, Neva, of Katy; two daughters, Laura Weese and husband, James, of White Deer, and Cynthia Thorne and significant other, Larry Eason, of Amarillo; two sisters, Goldie Hedquist of Las Vegas, N.M., and Maxine Palmer of Wichita, Kan.; six grandchildren, Kathy Osborne and husband, Leon, of Grand Forks, N.D., Alan Weese and wife, Karen, of San Antonio, Brian Weese and wife, Jennifer, of North Richland Hills, Jonathan Detrixhe of Katy, Jeremy Detrixhe of Portland, Ore., and David Wilson of Lubbock; four great-grandchildren, John Marc Osborne and wife, Marci, Michael Osborne and Kurt Osborne, all of Grand Forks, and Lauren Weese of North Richland Hills; a great-great-granddaughter, Fionna Bevin Osborne of Grand Forks; and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Heart Cemetery of Booker by Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Service. Mrs. Henton was born April 19, 1905, in Rauchovany, Czechoslovakia, to Anton and Leona Jelinek Slovacek. She came to the United States in April 1909 with her parents. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Holy Family Catholic Church with John Hickey, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Mr. Wilhelm was born March 11, 1927, to Edward and Margaret Schacher Wilhelm in Nazareth. He graduated from Nazareth I.S.D. in 1945. He married Rose Mary Guggemos on Aug. 6, 1947. He was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His devotion to all children came before his love for cattle. He was a rancher and farmer. He was a charter member of the National Cattleman's Association and Texas Cattle Feeder Association. In 1988, he was chosen Conservation Rancher of Castro County and Region One by the Soil and Water Conservation District. He served on the Plains Memorial Hospital Board, the Soil and Water Conservation Board and as a director on the Pioneer Natural Gas Board. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Parish, the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree, Nazareth Lions Club and St. Joseph's Organization. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Florine Brockman; and three brothers, Francis, Richard and Joseph. Amarillo Globe-News, May 5, 2003 Charles Richard "Scottie" Scott MUSTANG, Okla. - Charles Richard "Scottie" Scott, 70, died Friday, May 2, 2003. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Mustang United Methodist Church. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Ochiltree Cemetery of Perryton, Texas, by McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service. Mr. Scott was born July 11, 1932, in Meade, Kan. to Ira Preston and Thelma Bernice Pemberton Scott. He grew up in Meade and Greensburg, Kan., and moved with his family to Perryton as a child. He was a graduate of Perryton High School in 1950 and was a longtime employee of Frito-Lay until retiring in 1987. After retirement he worked several years for Perryton Schools. He moved to Mustang in 1996 and had been a faithful employee and goodwill ambassador for Larry's Foods. He was a member of Mustang United Methodist Church and BPOE (Elks) Lodge in Perryton. She was a self-employed hairdresser until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997. Mr. Jackson was born Aug. 8, 1918, in Seymour and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1936. When he was young he worked at H.B. Fain Chemical at 207 S. Polk St., which became State Chemical Co. He started Jackson Supply in 1964 which he sold four years ago. He married Vivian Ellen Garrett in 1938 in Amarillo. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he taught a Men's Sunday school class and took many mission trips, going to Taiwan, Italy, Egypt, Mexico, Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Alaska. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jerrol Jackson of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Loren Hipskind, Heather Atchely and Chris Jackson, all of Amarillo; and two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Caleb. He graduated in 1972 from Coronado High School in Lubbock. He worked at Texas Bearing in Amarillo for nine years before establishing his own business "Consolidated Sales" CDS, in January 2002. He was an avid volleyball player and practical joker. Travis will be missed, along with his smile and jokes, by all of his family and friends. Mrs. Hudson was born April 13, 1922, in Bentonville, Ark., and was raised in Lubbock. In 1941, she married Charles Hood Hudson at Brownfield. She moved to Amarillo in 1962 from Monahans. She was very creative and a loving homemaker and gardener. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hood Hudson, in 1993; and a son, Robert Hudson, in 1948. Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Michie and husband, Pete, of Garland, Sue Hart and husband, Bill, of Austin, and Toni Sweet and husband, Kent, of Amarillo; two sons, Charles A. Amarillo Globe-News, May 5, 2003 Lindsey "Pop" Davidson Lindsey "Pop" Davidson, 75, of Amarillo died Sunday, May 4, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Dr. Dana Moore officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Davidson was born Dec. 6, 1927, in Ada, Okla., to Ira Lindsey and Thelma Fleming Davidson. He graduated from Ada High School in 1945 and joined the Navy in 1946. Upon his discharge from the Navy in 1948, he enrolled at East Central State College where he was a three-year letterman in football. He married the love of his life, Gerry Butner, on Aug. 19, 1949, in Gainesville. Daughter, Dena Ann, was born Dec. 1, 1950, before Mr. Davidson graduated with a bachelor of science degree in education in May 1951. The family moved to Amarillo in August 1951, where he began his long and distinguished career with the Amarillo Independent School District by accepting at teaching position at Pleasant Valley Elementary School. For the next 13 years, he taught elementary school and received his master's degree in secondary school administration from West Texas State University in 1957. He began his career as one of the area's top wrestling coaches when he took his position as head coach of the Palo Duro Dons wrestling team in 1964. "Coach D" - as he was known - was widely respected among his peers and beloved by his athletes. As one of the greatest advocates of the sport in his adopted state of Texas, he inspired countless young men with his strong and unflagging guidance throughout his 23-year career. After his retirement in 1987, he continued to be an active and vital part of the area wrestling community and missed only one area tournament in 40 years. Wrestlers were not the only ones touched by Coach D as he also coached soccer and taught driver's education. He was recognized on several occasions for his dedication. He received the Eldon Jackson Memorial Award for the 1986-1987 school year, was recognized by Palo Duro High School for 23 years of outstanding service to the sport of wrestling in 1987 and was inducted into the Texas High School Wrestling Hall of Honor as an outstanding coach in 1990. He was also an active member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church where he served as deacon, Sunday school teacher and Sunday School superintendent. He was also an active outdoorsman as evidenced by the 17 summers he spent as a park ranger in the Grand Teton National Park. His love of the outdoors and his respect for God's gift of nature endured with him throughout his life.
