A second service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the church with the Rev. Saul Carbajal, son of the Rev. Esteban Carbajal, and the Rev. Jose I. Contreras, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. The Rev. Carbajal was born Dec. 26, 1927, in Crosbyton. He was a Dumas resident since 1959. He started pastoring at the age of 23. His first missionary position was in Brownfield. In 1965, he started a mission on Twichell Street and later built Templo Elim. He pastored there until his retirement. He married Maria on Feb. 10, 1949, in Mexico. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Raquel Moreno; a son, Israel Carbajal; and two grandsons, Jimmy Carbajal and Eliseo Carbajal. Private family burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Cornelius was born March 28, 1912, in Memphis. She was the daughter of Grace and Fillmore Duke. She graduated from Memphis High School and went on to attend Texas Women's College in Fort Worth. Thirteen girls from Memphis went to college together and they remained close friends all of their life. She married Jim Cornelius in 1931, and later moved to Amarillo. She worked for Texas Employers Insurance as office supervisor for 30 years from 1947 to 1977. She was president of Top of Texas Chapter of American Business Women's Association. She was president of Pilot Club International. She was an avid bridge player and a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. She loved to travel and did so with her daughters, friends and grandchildren. She was a loving mother and great friend to anyone she met. She will be sorely missed. She loved her church family and gospel music. Ollie taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and was an active member of the church she and her family attended. Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Belton. Arrangements were by Harper-Talasek Funeral Home of Temple. Mr. Hicklin was born Nov. 2, 1912, in Madisonville, Ky. He was the son of the late Mr. Melvin Thomas Hicklin and Ona Lee Ashby Hicklin. Mr. Hicklin resided in Washington, D.C., from 1934 to 1940. Mr. Hicklin received a bachelor's degree in commercial science in 1937 and a master's degree in commercial science in 1938. He married Miss Jean White on Feb. 15, 1940, in Washington, D.C. The couple later moved to Bethesda, Md., and resided there until 1949. They moved to Amarillo in 1949, where he was employed as a regional finance officer for the Bureau of Reclamation. They moved to the Central Texas area in 1971. Mr. Hicklin was an accountant for the Civil Service Commission for 35 years until his retirement in 1971. He was a longtime member of Lions Club of Salado, the Sheriff's Association of Texas and Phi Gamma Alpha Fraternity. He was also a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Belton. He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 28, 2000; and five brothers, Charles Hicklin, Homer Hicklin, Ennis Hicklin, M.T. Hicklin and Walton Hicklin.
