Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Edwards was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Amarillo. She was known as "Cork." Mrs. Bruce was born to Harry and Elizabeth Anita Rowe in Galveston. She married Robert Bruce on May 17, 1944. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home. Mr. Clevenger was born March 2, 1915, in Ware to James H. and Emza (Krall) Clevenger. He was raised in Ware, Dallam County. Survivors include his wife, Ethel; a daughter, Linda Welch of Carrollton, Miss.; two sons, Roger Hey of Dalhart and Charles Clevenger; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Walters was born July 24, 1920, in McKinney. He was a veteran of the Army and served during World War II. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Stratford with the Rev. Brent Farney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Brown was born Dec. 17, 1933, in Amarillo. He had been a resident of Stratford since 1964. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Stratford. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary A. Brown in 1984 and Harry L. Brown in 1986. Survivors include four aunts, Mary Peach Smith of Stratford, Hazel Martin of Longview and Helen Mason and Hilma Cleveland, both of Irving; and numerous cousins and friends. Prayer services will be at 7 p.m. today and Tuesday at Bartley-Silva Funeral Home. A second service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in True Vine Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Albert Carrion, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery. Mrs. Carrion was born Jan. 22, 1930, in China. She was a homemaker. Gayle Bowen, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Holley Funeral Home. Mr. Moore was born in Canyon on March 10, 1935, to B.A. Moore and Vina Mae Hicks. He was a member of the Baptist church. He served in the Army from 1957 to 1963. He married Norma "Ann" Grimdland on Dec. 19, 1957. He worked for 30 years at West Texas A&M University. Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Genella McCoy of Needles, Calif.; and a stepson, Ronald Gale Grimdland of Arizona; a sister, Marcy Sutton of St. Louis, Mo.; special friends, Alyne Conners and Nelda Irving; and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Randall Ato of Plum Creek Fellowship Church of Christ and Lyndon Latham of Anna Street Church of Christ, officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Sullins was born Dec. 9, 1923, in Cordell, Okla., to William and Mary Jane Medders Sullins. He was an Army veteran, serving in the European Theater during World War II where he received the Bronze Star. He married Linde Moser in Munich, Germany, in May 1948. He worked in the automotive business many years and was a minister of Fairlane Church of Christ from 1971 to 1974. He was a member of Plum Creek Fellowship Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Spielbauer; his parents; nine brothers; a sister; and a granddaughter, Shauna Jo Sullins. Survivors include his wife; a son, Terry Sullins and wife, Lynnae, of Pleasanton, Kan.; three daughters, Shirley Venable and husband, J.B., Carol Dickenson and husband, Chuck, and Amy Hackley, all of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Munkres was born Jan. 15, 1938. She was the daughter of Jim and Julie Emerson of Dumas and sister of Lois Alexander, also of Dumas. She graduated from Dumas High School and married Ernest Wayne Munkres in 1956. She retired from Santa Fe Railway in 1989. She was loved by all who knew her. We will miss and remember you always. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister. She married Gilbert Villa on April 7, 1942, in Clovis. Survivors include three sons, Eddie Villa, Raymond Villa and Richard Villa, all of Clovis; six daughters, Teresa Caballero, Virginia Lopez and Vanessa Sepulbeda, all of Clovis, Linda Gonzales of El Paso, Texas, and Mary Lou Gurule and Rosita Chavez, both of Las Vegas, N.M.; a brother, Monico Pacheco of Clovis; two sisters, Martina Gallegos of Amarillo and Anna Archuleta of Fort Sumner; 30 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with Gerald Ball, minister of Bedford Road Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Fleming was born June 27, 1920, in Sullivan, Ill., to Maude and Frank Kirk. When she was 9, she moved with her family to LaSalle, Colo., where she completed her elementary, junior high and sophomore year of education. She graduated from high school in Kersey, Colo., and was chosen honor girl by the students and faculty. She received a scholarship to business college in Nebraska but was unable to attend. She instead attended Emily Griffith Opportunity School in Denver. While attending school, she worked part-time for Montgomery Ward Department Store and later became a full-time employee. She transferred to the store in Cheyenne, Wyo., where she worked in the order department, but later resigned due to pregnancy. She later worked in the accounting department of the Burlington Northern Railroad until moving to Amarillo in 1944. She later moved to Mesquite after her health declined and then later to Bedford. She married U. Clyde Fleming on May 22, 1944, after his return to the U.S. following 36 months of service in the Army. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 5, 1992. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon June Hill of Bedford; a son, U. Clyde (Rick) Fleming Jr. of Bedford; a brother, Jack Kirk of Red Feather Lakes, Colo.; two sisters, Laverna Schmidt of Pueblo, Colo., and Rosemary Colvin of Bay City; five grandchildren, Ron Hill of Bedford, Ricky Wayne Fleming, Michael Todd Fleming and Erin Rayenee Fleming, all of Amarillo, and Chance Justin Fleming of Mesquite; and nine great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, May 12, 2003 Richard "Dick" O. Harris WICHITA FALLS - Richard "Dick" O. Harris, 75, died Saturday, May 10, 2003. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Christian Church of Wichita Falls with Tom Rodgers officiating. Arrangements are by Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. Mr. Harris was born to Billie Harper Harris and John W. Harris on April 7, 1928, in Wichita Falls. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1949 where he was an All-American football player in 1948 and 1949 and was inducted into the University of Texas Football Hall of Fame in 1996. He began his banking career in Wichita Falls in 1960 with the First Wichita National Bank, later moving to Amarillo as president of the American National Bank. He then moved to Austin as president of the American National Bank of Austin and after three years in Austin, he moved back to Amarillo as president of Texas Commerce Bank. He and Dorothy Jo retired to Wichita Falls in 1993. He served 25 years as a member of the board of directors of Scott and White Hospital in Temple, a place that was very dear to his heart. He was committed to public service, serving on numerous boards of directors giving selflessly of himself and helping to build every community in which he lived. He was a faithful member at Grace Church in Wichita Falls. All that knew him felt his warmth, gracious hospitality and genuine love for others. His famous smile and handshake will be missed. The family wishes to thank all of his special caregivers at Rolling Meadows Assisted Living Center for the love and kindness they showed him. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years; his youngest son, John Mark Harris; and a brother, William Harris. Survivors include a son, Richard O. Harris Jr. of Dallas; a sister, Jean Harris Smith of Fort Worth; a brother, Jack Harris of Austin; and three grandchildren, Laura Brooke Harris, Richard O. Harris III and Braden Leigh Harris, all of Dallas. The family will greet friends after the service from 3 to 5 p.m. at Wichita Falls Country Club.
