Bain, 61, died Friday, May 23, 2003. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Earth United Methodist Church with Gary Hubbard, pastor, of Earth, and the Rev. Bobby Broyles, of Ballinger, officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Plainview Cemetery by Parson-Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Bain was born Jan. 26, 1942, in Plainview. He married Janet Moore in Plainview on June 1, 1968. He was a member of Earth United Methodist Church and was on the board of the Senior Citizens of Earth. He was a member of the Earth Lions Club and was a 1965 graduate of Sam Houston State University with an agribusiness degree. He worked as a banker for the Amarillo National Bank in Amarillo, the First National Bank in Claude and the First United Bank of Earth. He also served his country while in the Air Force Reserve. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Clifton, in 1999. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shanna Pinnell of Plainview; two brothers, Ray Bain of Dimmitt and H.M. Bain of Plainview; a granddaughter, Lauren Kaye Pinnell; three nieces; and three nephews. The family suggests memorials be to Earth United Methodist Church, 303 E. First Ave., Earth, TX 79031. Amarillo Globe-News, May 26, 2003 Margarett J. Harnish SPEARMAN - Margarett J. Harnish, 80, died Friday, May 23, 2003. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hansford Cemetery with the Rev. Patrick Six officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Harnish was born Oct. 28, 1922, in Plainview where she had lived since 1958. She was a member and nursery attendant at First Baptist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zachary T. Harnish; and a son, Gerald Harnish. Survivors include a daughter, Lyda Littleton of Island Falls, Maine; three sons, Gil Harnish and Gerry Harnish, both of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Bill Harnish of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, May 26, 2003 Amarillo Curtis Lloyd Vandiver Curtis Lloyd Vandiver, 83, of Amarillo died Friday, May 23, 2003. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with Terri Sparks, chaplain, officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Vandiver served as a technical sergeant with the 234th Army Air Force Base Unit. His unit was awarded the Eame Ribbon with a bronze star for their overseas campaign in Northern France. He owned and operated Lone Star Auto Radio Repair Service from 1965 to 1995. He was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1475. He will be fondly remembered for his compassion and kindness to friends and strangers, his unsurpassed popcorn-making abilities and especially his use of household-cleaning ingredients as everyday remedies for aches and pains. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Renfroe Vandiver, on May 1, 2001. Georgia St. Mrs. Johnson married E.W. Johnson in Clovis, N.M., on Jan. 4, 1933. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year. She retired from Boys Ranch after 20 years and became a homemaker. She was a member of Second Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Elaine Montgomery in 1994, and Connie Armstrong in 2000. Survivors include her husband; a son, David W. Johnson of Whitney; a brother, M.S. Amarillo Globe-News, May 26, 2003 Roy Lynn Warren Roy Lynn Warren, 79, of Amarillo died Friday, May 23, 2003. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Robert Field, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Fairmount Cemetery of Follett with Clay Wells, of Follett First Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Warren was born Sept. 28, 1923, in Roby. He grew up in the Crosbyton area and enlisted in the Army on Jan. 20, 1943. He was a machine gunner sergeant and squad leader of the heavy machine gun unit in the infantry of the 35th division. He was wounded during combat in Belgium while fighting Germany in 1945 where he received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He received an honorable discharge on Sept. 7, 1945. Upon returning home from the war, he was superintendent of Plainview water department. He then moved to Amarillo where he met his second wife, Gwen Lee Buchner, and they were married May 22, 1970. He worked for the Amarillo Independent School District as a maintenance man and plumber until his retirement. Since his death, he had been honored with the Normandy Service Medal and Presidential Memorial Certificate. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Lula Warren; and a sister, Maxine Post. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Glinda K. Poe and husband, Greg K., of Lubbock, Eraina Lynn Anderson and husband, Roy D., of Wichita Falls, and Rosemary Wossum and husband, Randy, of Amarillo; two sons, Bruce Buchner and Byron Buchner, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Christine McKay of Phoenix and Doris Thedford Jackson of Kailua Kona, Hawaii; five grandsons, Robbe Rae and Alison Garner, both of Dallas, Bobby Jack and Brenda Anderson, both of Wichita Falls, Vance and Maggie Dunlap and Shane Dunlap, all of Amarillo, and Ricky and Ronica Allen of Wichita Falls; two great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Galilee Church of God In Christ with John T. Bowser, pastor, and the Rev. Donald Wallace officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 15th Avenue and Martin Road. Mrs. Redic was born to Arrvil and Melba Redic Sr. on Dec. 15, 1965, in Amarillo. She attended Mesa Verde and San Jacinto elementary schools and Sam Houston Junior High School. She graduated from Tascosa High School in 1985. She accepted Christ in her life at an early age under the pastorship of the late Rev. J.E. Neal. She was employed at Goodwill Industries. She had many hobbies and activities she enjoyed, but most of all she loved being with her family and friends. Sonia leaves us to mourn, not as if there is no hope, because we know we will see her again in the great resurrection. She was preceded in death by a brother, Tony Alfred Redic, on March 27, 1990. Survivors include a son, Christopher A. Redic of Amarillo; two daughters, Kaye Redic of Amarillo and LaCreash'a Redic of Dumas; her father and mother of Amarillo; four sisters, Joyce Lenette Redic, Terri Yvonne Redic, Ruthie Mae Redic, all of Amarillo, and Gladys Polk Redic of Dallas; two brothers, Travis Earl Redic and Arvil Redic Jr., both of Amarillo; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, on both sides of the family, and a niece and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Holley Funeral Home Chapel with Rigoberto Padilla, pastor of Iglesia Tierra Santa in Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Vasquez was born Aug. 17, 1928, in Sinton to Domingo Vasquez and Maria Coronado. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in construction. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Ann's Catholic Church of Canyon with Monsignor Joseph Tash, pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mrs. Cranmer was born Oct. 2, 1910, in Electra to John and Mary Byerley Nepper. She married Elmer L. Cranmer in Amarillo in April 18, 1934. They farmed in St. Francis and Conway before moving to Canyon in 1948. In Canyon, they ran a dairy and farmed for numerous years. She also worked at Canyon Junior High cafeteria where she retired. She was preceded in death by her husband in July 1990; 12 brothers and sisters; and a grandchild, Kenny Cranmer, in 2002. Survivors include four daughters, Leta Rolen and husband, Larry, Peggy Ferguson and husband, Jerry, and Dorothy Masten, all of Canyon, and Sharon McCarley of Happy; two sons, Walter Cranmer and wife, Janice, and Edgar Cranmer and wife, Linda, all of Canyon; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
