Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Panhandle First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Matsler officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Dauer was born Feb. 20, 1922, in DeQueen, Ark. She graduated from White Deer High School in 1939 and married Paul Dauer on June 8, 1941. Margaret Dauer was a partner with Dauer Herefords for 62 years. Representing the ranching industry, she was a member of Top O' Texas CattleWomen, Texas CattleWomen, National CattleWomen and Texas Hereford Auxiliary. She received the Texas Cattle Woman of the Year award in 1984. Margaret and husband, Paul, were awarded the Panhandle Chamber of Commerce Farm and Ranch Family of the Year award in 1988. The 1989 Fort Worth Southwestern Livestock Show was dedicated to their work in the Hereford cattle industry. Margaret was a member of American Society of Interior Designers, State of Texas Interior Designers and owned her own business, Decorators Lane. She served on the Garretson Retirement Center board of directors. She was a volunteer for St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Program and Crown of Texas Hospice. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Wives, past president of the Atheneum Club and a charter member of Panhandle Country Club. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Panhandle, where she served on the church board and taught Sunday school. Margaret was also awarded the 1990 Women's Forum Distinguished Service Award and was nominated for the Golden Nail Award in 1991. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990. Survivors include two sons, John Paul Dauer and wife, Patty, and Steve Dauer and wife, Ashlee Flowers, all of Panhandle; seven grandchildren, Rachel Dauer and Russell Dauer, both of Leander, Micca Rasp and husband, Josh, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Justin Dauer and wife, Barbi, of Panhandle, Stephanie Sammons and husband, Brad, of Amarillo, Amy Biggs and husband, Ryan, of Frisco and Tomi Gerber and husband, Charles, of Bailey, Colo.; and four great-grandchildren, Halee Biggs, Ashby Dauer, Jared Dauer and Katelyn Sammons. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Friona First Baptist Church with the Rev. Russell Pogue and the Rev. Mark Stovall officiating. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis, N.M. Mrs. Talley was born Aug. 9, 1927, in Abernathy. She graduated from Friona High School in 1945, and attended Draughon's Business College in Lubbock. She married Calvin Talley on March 8, 1947. A longtime resident of Friona, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. As a member of First Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school for 30 years and was a member of Friends of the Library. Patsy was also a member of Friends of Music at First United Methodist Church in Lubbock. She was preceded in death by her father, D.O. Robason in 1976; and her husband in 1989. Survivors include her mother, Jewell Robason of Friona; two sisters, Lila Wall of San Angelo and Wanda Jones of Spearman; two brothers, D.O. Survivors include two daughters, Bobbie Jester and Carolyn Kay Hightower, both of Amarillo; a son, John M. Amarillo Globe-News, May 27, 2003 Jack Wayland McClellan Sr. PANHANDLE - Jack Wayland McClellan Sr., 70, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Fuller, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. McClellan was born Dec. 16, 1932, in Wellington. He had been a Panhandle resident since 1969, moving there from Amarillo. He married June Parker on Sept. 12, 1953, in Blackwood Monmouthshire, South Wales. He had been a volunteer fireman since 1970, a fire Marshall, dispatcher and a member of State Fireman's and Fire Marshall's Association of Texas. He was also a member of Brothers of Third Wheel Inc., International Trikers Association, American Association of Retired Persons, American Legion, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union. Mr. McClellan was a Bexar County Sheriff's deputy. He was a retired machinist from the Pantex plant, Mason and Hanger. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Panhandle. Survivors include a son, Jack Wayland McClellan Jr. of Corsicana; three daughters, Gill Armstrong of Stephenville, Lynda June Hitchcock of Valparaiso, Ind., and Vickie Scott of Round Rock; a brother, Jimmy McClellan of Pearsall; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, May 27, 2003 Catherine Ellen Willburn Catherine Ellen Willburn, 94, of Amarillo died Sunday, May 25, 2003. Mass will be at 10 a.m. today in St. Laurence Cathedral with the Rev. Leroy T. Matthiesen, bishop emeritus of the Catholic diocese, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Mrs. Willburn was born May 2, 1909, in Denison to Cornelius and Josephine O'Connor. She graduated from Our Lady of Victory Catholic School at Fort Worth. She married Frank E. Willburn on Dec. 4, 1929, in Fort Worth. They shared more than 50 years of happy marriage until Mr. Willburn's death on March 22, 1982. Mr. and Mrs. Willburn lived in Houston, Galveston and Borger before moving to Amarillo in 1947, where Mr. Willburn opened Frank's Plumbing. She was a founding member of the St. Laurence parish, and for many years was the chief chili cook for the St. Laurence food booth at the Tri-State Fair. She was the first president of the Altar Society and began the Junior Legion of Mary at St. Laurence and was the first president. For many years, she was a frequent and tireless volunteer worker for the church and community charity organizations. She gave generously of her time without seeking recognition, but earning the respect of all those around her. She was a homemaker and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved to spend time with her many family members who came to surround her and enjoy the ample and excellent meals that she was always ready to prepare for large family gatherings throughout her long life. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren had gathered by her bedside when she died. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Edward "Buddy" Willburn in 1957 and John D. Willburn in 2000; her parents; three sisters, Mary Dalton, Julia LaGesse and Toby Roach; and two brothers, Dan O'Connor and Johnny O'Connor. Survivors include two daughters, Cana Wright and Mary Bates, both of Amarillo; three sons, Frank O. Willburn of Amarillo, James Willburn of Houston and Dick Willburn of Buena Vista, Colo.; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. He married Ann Wagoner Drake on Nov. 30, 1962, in Hereford. He was a deacon and member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laurie Lea Drake; his mother, Mildred Drake; and a brother, John Bob Drake.
